  1. The rack slide in and out very easily; after Oliver replaced the rack, I did use a very light file and run over the square edges with one pass.
  2. We had the very first bike rack that Oliver installed on any trailer and it was a joke. After many calls and emails to Oliver they sent me a replacement bike rack hitch, which was not much of an improvement. That started another round of calls and emails to Oliver about the replacement bike rack hitch. The third and current rack was installed by Oliver at their factory, which has handled our two bikes and rack weighting 121 lbs. We also have a cargo basket for our Honda 2000 generator and a 2..5 gal gas can plus the cover and it's weight is 121.5 lbs. You can see in the attached picture that Oliver used under the bike rack the same rubber that is placed under all supports between the aluminum and fiberglass body. With the current rack I have had no issues, the mounting bolts remain tight over many miles.
  3. Do both drain valves exits the trailer via one pipe through the floor?
  4. Another welcome to the family John and Susan: We also opted not to purchase the solar package and some of the electronic that Oliver offers. The Oliver TT is our 7th travel trailer and we have enjoyed it about the best of any trailer. We have camped in many National Parks and have stayed up to two weeks without electrical power; just connect your tow vehicle to the trailer for a short period of time while running to recharge the Oliver's batteries. In 2017 we spend several weeks in the Durango – Silverton area and enjoyed riding the train between the two locations. Best of luck with your new Oliver.
  5. I have carried our trailer to the Oliver factory since they put out the guide lines on how to use the rear jacks/stabilizers to have the wheel bearing repacked. Each time Oliver employees use the on board jacks/stabilizers to raise the trailer to remove the wheel and then do their work on repacking the wheel bearings. The next time you carry your trailer to the Oliver factory for wheel bearing service; ask Jason how do they lift the trailer to do wheel bearing service. Besides I watched Oliver employees use the on board jacks/stabilizers to left our trailer.
  6. Our tires are BF Goodrich also and we have had the factory install the Dexter EZ Flex and no issues before the EZ Flex or after. When we picked up the trailer before it was moved by us, we checked and adjusted the air pressure to 55 psi and no issues so far.
  7. What tire pressure does most people use? When I picked up the trailer three years ago the pressure was set by the factory to almost 80 psi; I adjusted the pressure to 55 psi and after getting the trailer home I installed a TPMS plus had the tires balanced. We have had no issues with our trailer running at 55 psi.
  8. The ground bonding issue is with both models. I purchased the companion model first and do not require a second generator. The companion model has the heavy 30 amp three wire twist lock connector. To correct the bonding issue just purchase a 120 VAC standard three prong mile plug, then connect the neutral and ground post together; this will correct the generator grounding issue with the trailer.
  9. I carry both SAE and metric; they come in handy when needed. A multi meter comes in very useful at times and I never travel without it; you should obtain a spare set of fuses.
  10. I also tow with a 2016 Toyota Tundra 4x4 Crew Limited and have had no issues; and we have traveled all over the U.S.A. but I do use a Anderson WDH. I would not pull a trailer of this size with any type of vehicle without a WDH; we have owned several travel trailers and have used WDH's on each trailer. As for the 2016 Toyota Tundra maximum tongue weight is 980 lbs according to Toyota's Product Information Data Sheet.
  11. Our water pump is located on the CURB side of the trailer under the bed.
  12. Our tow vehicle is a Toyota Tundra with the standard mirrors and we have no issues with towing the Elite II. The Tundra has the 5.7 L engine with a 4.30 axle and have had no problems towing anywhere in the country. Good luck and safe travels.
  13. Trainman: We ordered our 2015 Elite II without solar or the inverter and we have never regretted it. The Oliver is our 7th travel trailer we have owned in 51 years and we have travel all over the United States and Canada. We camp 75% of the time in campground with at least 120VAC connections; when it is hot we like to run the AC and it will not run for very long via the inverter. There are lots of state parks and Corp of Engineers across the U.S. that has hook ups that we have stayed in. We did order the enhanced battery bank, which has allowed us to stay in campgrounds without electricity for two weeks. Some times I carry a Honda 2000 watt generator with us, but most of the time that is only in the fall when we are camping without electricity and will be running the furnace. Your trailer batteries will obtain a good charge from your tow vehicle if you are driving several hours of the day. When in campgrounds without electricity and no generator, I just plug the trailer into my tow vehicle and let it run for 30 – 60 minutes per day; this is just a way to keep the charge up on the batteries and gives us more time to stay without electricity. At home the trailer is parked under a carport with no access to the sun; we have a 30 amp connection for the trailer.
  14. We have been using a silver paint on the bulldog coupler since we returned from the factory pickup in 2015. It has worked great, this fall I did repaint the coupler, but the paint has lasted very well. I have tried using florescent colors for outside use on other things and it does fade fairly quickly. The silver shows up in the rear view camera and it makes hookup easy. [attachment file=Bulldog Coupler - 001.jpg] [attachment file=Bulldog Coupler - 002.jpg]
  15. In September 2017 I ordered and installed the new upgraded model of the Anderson WDH; no noise has been experienced in over a year. We just returned from a trip and after disconnecting the trailer from the tow vehicle with the triangle plate still attached to the tow vehicle I noticed I could move the triangle plate very easy, this has never happen before with the upgraded Anderson WDH. I reattached the trailer to the tow vehicle ball with no tension on the chains and I could not move the triangle plate. I repeated this process several times with the same results. Not sure what is going on with the Anderson WDH, something has changed over the past years with lots of miles on the trailer. I have sent and email to Anderson about the issue, but no reply yet.
  16. We just got back home on Monday from a week or so camping trip in the North Myrtle Beach, SC area. Our plans were to stay another week or two, since we were only 300 yards from the ocean it was not a place I wanted to be in a hurricane. When we left Monday morning there were others that we leaving, but there was still over a 1,000 trailers in the camp ground. We knew when the orders came down that everyone must leave in would be a slow process of just getting out of the camp ground. The traffic was not to bad all the way to Chesapeake, Virginia; we had to stop once for gas and there were fairly long lines for gas. Yesterday and today we are getting thing ready for the storms arrival. Good luck to all of us here on the east coast.
  17. When we ordered our LEII in April 2015 I requested a center mounted TV with fold down option (I provided the information for the fold down TV mount that they are currently using, I said if necessary I will provide the fold down mount and the answer was NO). We were informed that it could not be done, the only TV option was the corner mount. So why is it that some people can get some things done their way and the others can not have the same option installed?
  18. The ladder I use to access the roof of the Oliver is always secured with a safety rope; plus a safety rope from the carport overhead and someone holding the ladder just is case of any issues. You can not be to safe when working on the roof.
  19. We cancelled our plans to visit Glacier this year, but have reschedule our trip for 2019. Thanks for the update.
  20. Spike: I have had issue at several campgrounds over the years; most of the time when I contacted the campground office about the problem, they sent someone right out and they corrected the problem, if it is with the wiring or defective receptacle. However if there is a voltage issue, most of the time just moved to another section of the campground.
  21. I think you have it backwards about the 12 V system wiring color code. According to the drawings that came with our Oliver, black is the 12 V positive wire and white is the negative wire. And that is how our trailer is wired.
  22. Dave: Over the 50 years that we have been camping, I have found numerous campgrounds with electrical issues. I always check their facilities before connection my equipment.
  23. Today I replaced the MaxxAir outside fan cover, it is not a hard job but it did take 3 hours to replace and test. MaxxAir was great sending a replacement cover which has a life time warranty, it only took three days to get the cover. Has anyone else had to replace a MaxxAir outside fan cover?
  24. John, I hope you are not referring to me as an older gentleman; anyone regardless of age could slip and fall if not careful. Also I keep our trailer washed and polished it still looks like the day I picked up the trailer, without going on the roof! Currently the only reason for going on the roof is to replace the defective MaxxAir cover.
