  1. We use the Weber Q1000 with the pressure regulator removed so it can run off the trailer quick connect.
  2. You’re going to get differing points of view on this. I have used the stabilizing jacks to lift the trailer to remove tires (rebalance after TPMS install). I would use the stabilizing jacks if I had a flat on the side of the road. But, for long term leveling I prefer to use something under the tires to get near level and then use the jacks to fine tune. At first I just had some scrap 2X6’s but now use the big yellow legos. I can tell by the front jack bubble level how many I’ll need. Usually one or two is enough. I also made 8” blocks to put under all three jacks so they aren’t extended too far, and supplement them with the legos when needed. Mike
  3. Steve, thanks. We don’t want any electric issues while at Q this month!
  4. I ordered one of these and just checked the 110v outlets in the trailer. All show open ground. I’m hooked up to shore power (30a at home). Bad news?
  5. I’ve got a 12” level that fits in a canvas tool bag that is stored in the closet. It’s small enough to be used at a variety of locations.
  6. I wouldn’t jack under the axles. We’ve found the big yellow legos work well for side to side leveling. Lots of folks like the Andersen style. We fine tune with the back jacks. It’s quick, stable and pretty fool proof. Mike
  7. The reason I suggested checking for level is because this happened to us once. The shower would not drain. I thought we might have a clog. My bubble on the front jack showed level. I pulled out my “trailer level” and checked inside the trailer and found the front low. Once I leveled the “clog” disappeared. I also adjusted the jack bubble level, something that needs to be done periodically. I have raised the front when dumping to speed the process but keep the trailer as level as possible for camping. Mike
  8. Jeff, brilliant! What a great idea! Why didn’t I think of that? I’m going to do as you did when I have the trailer here later this week. We’re loading up to head to Quartzsite (passing through Cochise County!) then on to California. Mike
  9. So true. I’ve always been a European performance sedan kind of guy. The other vehicle in my garage is an Audi S3, no slouch in the performance department. But, given the choice, I almost always pick up my truck keys when I need to go somewhere. Maybe it’s age? Mike
  10. We’ve used runners from Walmart and Costco. Some were 20” wide the current one is 22” wide. Right now the one we have goes from the nightstand to the middle of the pantry and then bare floor from there to the bath. We have used two runners to cover the entire area. It’s all personal preference. Your measurements sound right. Mike
  11. I can answer yes to many of his questions because of my Oliver. Still more to see! Mike
  12. I did this and posted a bunch of pictures at this link: http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/door-window-shutter/page/2/ We’ve been happy with the results. Mike
  13. Has anyone figured out a way to secure the tops with something other than Velcro that would make them more secure? Some kind of hinge with a hidden pin? I like these areas not just because they aren’t obvious but because they are nice extra storage areas. Seems like there should be a way to secure them without advertising what they are. I’m going to give this some thought, there has to be a simple yet effective solution....
  14. Agree with Steve, check under the dinette seat. Also make sure you are level and that the front of the trailer is not too low. Mike
  15. Looks like a good design. Do you have two that are connected by the rope/bungee? I’m still collecting ideas for our Camping for Dummies Session at the rally. A discussion on chocks and blocks might be good. Post ideas and pics! Mike
  16. We use the bathroom window a lot. We usually open it after a shower and turn the fan on. On nice days it stays open to provide general ventilation. It also lights up the bathroom during the day. We wouldn’t be without it. Mike
  17. Jason, this is a nice touch. I went to the Elite II and tried to move around and it kept restarting and taking me back to the start page. I’m using an iPad. This will be a nice feature. Mike
  18. These are good videos and should help the Oliver cause. I agree about the hidden storage, not so hidden anymore. The random thief probably doesn’t watch YouTube videos on Oliver trailers so probably not too big of a big deal. The new trailers look nice and I like some of the upgrades. A lot has changed in the last few years. Mike
  19. That looks like a great way to hold the door open! There are a couple of other ideas at the link below. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/how-to-bathroom-door-hold-open/ I did add a couple of stick-on bumpers to decrease the magnet strength.
  20. Without listening I think it is probably normal. There is a little flexing to the floor with some associated noise. Mike
  21. I know some folks have installed a safe in the nightstand space in place of the wooden insert. You should be able to find some posts about that as well as installing a gun safe in the closet. Mike
  22. Best wishes to everyone in 2019 with lots of good camping and travels! Mike
  23. Welcome to the Oliver family! Our Oliver is our first RV too and after 3 years we couldn’t be happier. There are lots of smart folks on the forum to answer questions, so ask away. If you can attend the rally, even before your trailer is ready, you’ll meet some great owners and learn a lot. Looking forward to meeting you. Mike
  24. That’s great news! Jerry’s RV needs a great 5 star review!! Merry Christmas - Mike
