  1. We plan four nights with no other facilities. If there’s a vault toilet or other facility we can stretch to a week. It’s a little hard to predict how long you can go because everyone is different with different amounts of inputs leading to different amounts of outputs. Mike
  2. Campground showers are usually ok if you are at a campground with showers. Many of us camp where there are no showers and so we use our Oliver shower a lot. Yes, some campground showers have cooties, or worse, but most are perfectly acceptable - just not as convenient as showering in the trailer. Mike
  3. Like Bill, I’m on my third BAKflip MX4 and have been very happy with them. It locks when the truck is locked and keeps things under both dry and secure. Mike
  4. Thanks! That’s at Aguirre Spring BLM campground near White Sands NP.
  5. We use the big square black and yellow Camco legos. I have two sets of 10. I use them under the jacks with wood blocks so that I only move the jacks a few inches and under the tires if we’re not level. Mike
  6. Indian Cove Campground at Joshua Tree National Park.
  7. I’d be on the phone with Oliver first thing tomorrow. I’m sure they will be taking some time at the end of the week for a brief holiday. Mike
  8. Congratulations! Enjoy a Tennessee Christmas! Mike
  9. For those going to the Oliver rally in Alabama, early June might be a challenge. We’re retired so we can stay out for extended periods. Also, no cell service is no problem, we often camp unconnected. It can be restful! Mike
  10. June would be good, especially if it’s before “bugs”!
  11. In the twin bed model there is an extension for the twin mattresses on each side. With the larger dinette there are no extensions providing more room at knee level. There are times we wish we had the larger dinette and the king size bed. We couldn’t figure out where to store that larger mattress during the day. The cushions didn’t seem supportive enough by themselves. I think we’d leave the bed up all the time with the mattress. The few times we would need the larger dinette we could stash the mattress somewhere and set up the table. I think we’re still happy with our twin bed model. Mike
  12. 2023 is far enough off to plan. I would assume it wouldn’t be in the spring to conflict with the Oliver Rally. Are you thinking fall? Maybe September or early October? Since we try to go to CO regularly (grandkids, you know) we’d definitely put it on the calendar! Mike
  13. Agree with BIll, I wouldn’t use a Clam in hot weather for shade, unless you were looking for a sauna!
  14. I waited until recently to reserve a site at the park since we weren’t sure if we could attend this year. We’re in section G, we’ve been in section E the last few rally’s. Variety might be good! Mike
  15. Yep, put it in the middle with chairs around and it is quite cozy even in really cold weather!
  16. We also have the Outland fire pit. It keeps our clam toasty warm in cold weather on low. Highly recommend! Mike
  17. We don’t drink out of our fresh tank. I pretty much do what John does, I leave the tank (sometimes a month or two between trips) and top off with fresh water letting it overflow for a few minutes. I do the bleach thing once a year or so. Mike
  18. JD is usually John Davies. See his post above.
  19. I wouldn’t drain it for only a week. I’d leave it half full then fill it when you start using it again. I’ve stored mine for a month or more with a full tank and no issues. Mike
  20. Mike and Carol, 2016 #135 Dometic 13.5 106 degrees in full sun on low kept us cool My next AC will not be as large.
  21. Pete, @bugeyedriver, told me about this shop. Boerne is a small town but with several mega RV dealers with repair shops. Our shop is very small, husband/wife operation and they do great work.
  22. We’ve had several warranty things done locally and reimbursement by Oliver was not an issue. We have a local repair shop here that does work on several Oliver’s, one a 2008 Elite that he’s been servicing for a long time. Mike
  23. We went sideways for a few years. I just figured how to pack around it! We’ve found we use the clam much more in cool/cold weather. It goes up quick and comes down quick. Mike
  24. We’ve got a Ram 2500 with a 6’ 4” bed, so it fits with a few inches to spare. When we had a 1500 with the shorter bed it went in diagonally, wasn’t too much of an issue depending on how much stuff you carry in the bed. Mike
  25. I PMed Buzzy earlier this year just to see how he was doing. He said he was well, still has is Oliver and is still camping, mostly NH, VT and ME. Mike
