While I was getting prepared to decalcify the Ollie, I was directed to select the faucet with the best volume/flow, are remove the aerator. The kitchen sink faucet seemed like the most logical place to do this, but I did not see an easy (read any) obvious way to do that. Consequently, the bathroom shower head got the duty. Is there anyway to disassemble the kitchen faucet? And while I’m in question mode… what brand is it? Thanks in advance.

SOLVED - I think… Well, I feel a bit foolish, but the outside shower valves were open. They didn’t feel like it, but they were. Turning right (righty, tighty) there was considerable resistance, so I assumed (ass-u-ME) they were closed. Not the case at all he said blushingly. Dang I feel foolish! I believe a good test coming out of winterization, is to try and turn the shower valves on. If you hit a hard stop, they are on. A slight wiggle when turning right just may indicate an open valve. The temps went up to 96° before I turned the water off. The good news is the Truma is decalcified. Bad news is I am embarrassed.🙈

While the furnace, stove, and refer all seem to function normally, I’m going to check my propane pressures to see if I’m not getting enough propane to the Truma burner. Any words of wisdom on where to attach? Edit: The Truma tech (via email) just recommended having a service technician do the pressure check.😕

Decalcified the Truma, but it’s good news- bad news. The water is much warmer, but it’s in low 80s. The temp is consistent now, so I guess I’ll run the decalc process again. Almost had a genuine OH SUGARFOOT moment. I did the flush in the bathroom, forgetting to open the drain. It had about an inch to go when I remembered to hit the switch 😳

When you turn the agitator and the compost feels stiffer than when first used, add water a cup or so at a time. It needs to be moist, not soggy. YouTube has good videos on the topic.

When I spoke to the Truma Service Center, the tech I spoke to was very helpful regarding my warm versus hot water issue, but when I mentioned the “Truma” recall, the tech said this is an “Oliver” recall, not a Truma recall. That leads me to believe there may be some assembly or pre install effort on the Truma unit by Oliver. Does anyone know if that is true?

Just spoke with Truma Support, they suspected decalcification was needed.i did not receive the standard filter when I purchased from the original owner. To my knowledge the system has never been decalcified. The tech also mentioned that it could be propane related, but was more inclined to suspect calcification.

It is part of the recall, but I’m not certain anything shifted. Fingers crossed! Craig, I’ll check the faucets, but I wonder if we used hot water too soon. Checking again this morning.

I tested the Truma yesterday, and only got lukewarm water from it. I haven’t dug into the manual yet, any ideas?

Bill, thanks! The Zerk caps are waiting to go on, as soon as I finish getting them lubed. Also may take the wheels off to get some better access. I’m going at this slowly, as I’m dealing with some arthritic shoulder issues.

Once again, my suspension zerks are fighting with me. I haven’t yet jacked the trailer, but will do so. I’m wondering if a bit of warmth (heat gun) would also help grease flow into the shackle pins and Dexter Equalizer. Thoughts? Edit: I also bought a few zerks to replace any that are clogged.

I’m thinking of purchasing a small power station (Jackery/Goal Zero…) to power my Engel refrigerator and as a backup for power outages here at the Fort. The Engel could be used under the canopy in the back of either truck, or in the ATC Cougar. Thoughts? Also posted on Wander the West…

Yesterday, we shared a Shell station in Burns, Oregon with an Oliver from Mendocino, California. We had a few minutes to chat, then back on the road. The was only our third sighting since buying our LE II. 😊

A stove and grill related practice… we always have a piece of plywood along to go under the grill, and protect plastic tables from the heat. I don’t want to contribute to the too many park tables with the art work of melted surfaces.

Eeeek! I think Fivers must have some kind of a death wish. We saw something similar with a guy at Joshua Trees NP trying to squeeze a much too big rig, complete with a Harley on a back end lift into a clearly too small site. The camp sites were bordered by boulders, and he tore the living $#!! out of fiver and truck. After screaming at the host for a few minutes, about how everything was her fault, a ranger stopped by and invited him to leave the park.
