  1. That certainly looks easier to use than the ones you see near the RV antifreeze jug displays. Since I have one of the old ones, I see modifications that are about to happen… guess I’ve just been lazy or complacent.
  2. Hopefully, I’m not lighting another flame… but, I’d still like to see Oliver build their own maintenance (this is my concern) and sales center west of the Rocky Mountains. To date, I’ve only found one dealer RV tech that I truly trust to perform the maintenance that I don’t feel confident of doing myself.
  3. Apologies for the duplicate. I’m glad we found our Ollie when we did.

  5. Whaaaat? Y’all about to get two weeks in the electric chair for blasphemy. 😇
  6. We have a similar issue with a manually cranked awning (I believe it’s a Capri). My guess is that outer end of the hinged arm needs adjustment, probably extended slightly. I haven’t attempted to fix it while in the RV barn and can’t be fully extended. Words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Towards the end of February, I’m thinking of de-winterizing our Ollie so that we can launch out of snow country when we get a good weather window to head south.. I’ll hook up the Truma on the road, so that isn’t involved. We keep our trailer in an unheated, insulated and enclosed RV barn. My question is, how do we protect the water system if we get another very hard freeze? I would prefer to not run the furnace in the enclosed space. Steps I’m considering are: Blow the pink stuff out of the lines with compressed air. Use the boondocking feature to partially fill the FW tank. Sanitize the tank and lines repeatedly to clear associated bad tastes, then leave about 10 gallons in the FW tank. Drain the gray water, we have a composting toilet, so no black water worries. Leave an electric heater running inside when there are freezing temps. Hook up and head south like a scalded cat when possible. Am I overthinking this, or have I left something out? Better ideas, including just doing it on the road? Inquiring mind needs to know. Oops, another question, freeze protection while driving… in the Airstream, we left the furnace running at lowest setting. Thoughts on this practice?
  8. We only had the shower door and one side of the curved under sink cabinet fall off while traveling . Thankfully, no damage done, and easy repairs. It’s interesting that most of the SOB trailers go downhill from that mark. 😳
  9. An interesting map that shows power outages across the nation. As I type, Oregon leads the field because of ice and wind events in Western Oregon. North Carolina, you’re in second place. Click on your state to see the numbers. https://poweroutage.us
  10. Burro Creek is a nice spot, we driven in but just to check it out. It’s on our list of places that are convenient and nice. Thanks for sharing! Is that a black and white springer spaniel looking out your door?
  11. Just a wild guess (and probably wrong), but it might be Alliance from the 5th wheel world. I’ve heard nothing but good comments on the quality and warranty response. I don’t want a 5er, but if I did this would get a serious look from me.
  12. I made a similar gadget, but not as nice as yours. Well done!
  13. We have, courtesy of the previous owner, two inserts that span the aisle between the beds. A neat unintended feature is that by stacking the foam pads with one insert on top, next to the galley counter, we have a nice counter extension. At this time, I don’t have photos.
  14. I really like this, but my dogs wouldn’t. Fritz is over 90 pounds, and has to back out of the aisle. Ketzel is over 70, but can still turn around there.
  15. Hey Scott and Conni! Welcome to this benign group of crazy and wonderful folks. We will need to see lots of pictures when your new Ollie arrives.
  16. @Ronbrink, I really like what you’ve done. Here’s how the Sapele looks in our Ollie, our Lagun table (not pictured) is a lighter mahogany.
  17. Great mod! We were fortunate because the previous owner replaced the table, night stand, and pantry tops with beautiful African Sapele. The table and pantry were extended by 4”.
  18. I believe we referred to the D-18 as a “Bug Smasher”. Aircraft from the days of real planes.
  19. We now carry both traditional and Element fire extinguishers. What I like about the Element is the long burn time, and the small size that makes it handy to store (and grab) in the cab of the TV. Prior to buying, I spoke with my daughter who recently retired as a Fire Marshal from a large Oregon fire district. She keeps them in her vehicles.
  20. Propane can do bad👇things to fiberglass.
  21. If you use VHB consider applying a self leveling sealant around and over the foot of the base. I believe AMSolar has some YouTube videos on this.
