There may be two dump stations in Burns, Oregon. The Chevron (IIRC) and the Shell (or is it a Texaco?) across from McDonalds.

My perspective is a little different, as I live 10 miles from our farm supply store, and about 14 miles from our only hardware store. I try to shop local if I know I’m going to find it, so I wait until the shopping list builds up a bit before heading in. A trip to town is roughly $5.00 round trip (more if I take the F350) so that makes any little charges much less onerous. An example is my recent need for a couple of acid brushes. There weren’t any in town that we could find, and if there had been, I suspect the price might have been maybe 79¢ each. Yesterday , I ordered a pack of 36 from Amazon for roughly $7.00. They arrived today.

Out here, Amazon and UPS are my best friends and dance partners.

Hmmmm, I’ve never turned our booster on. Here at the house with Verizon, we get a blazing 2 bars (on a good day). I do believe it’s time to see what it does.

Joe, we bought a used Ollie, and l haven’t felt the need to register our booster yet. I do recall reading in the owners manual that your cell provider will want the make and model of your booster.

I’d check with a plumbing supply house (assuming there’s one nearby), that’s gotta be somewhat common.

Mike, we didn’t get as far as what kind of a trade in value our trailer would bring (and I would probably never do that), but he did look up what a bank would be willing to loan. Like you and Art mentioned, our trailer is well broken in, and I like it. The thought of a complete Truma system, a big Lithium battery bank, and never lube axles is tempting, but in the end was not worth the kerfluffle to go new.

Art, that’s kinda where I’m at, too. There are a couple of things I’d like to upgrade, but don’t really need to, which is why I decided to not purchase a new LE II.

Did you pull the fan and check for corrosion or loose contacts?

TBOM (The Boss Of Me, also known as The Bride) and I were strongly considering buying a new Oliver, and reached out to the dealer here in Oregon. In addition to finding them pleasant and helpful folks, I was shocked at what I considered to be a very good deal on a new LE II. I may be kicking myself for not purchasing, but I couldn’t justify spending the money. Especially since we like our 2018 LE II so much. If you’re thinking about upgrading, now might be the time.

I was doing a bit of cleaning today, and managed to pull a shade frame clip and screw out of the window frame. My old “use a toothpick” as a shim didn’t quite do the job. I can always go to a bigger screw or more toothpicks, but I’m curious if anyone has ever filled a hole with epoxy, and then re-drilled. Inquiring minds need to know. 😇

As we bought a used Oliver, it is insured at the purchase price (State Farm). If we bought new, I’d certainly want a policy for replacement value.

IMO… It’s so ugly a person would need to shave its behind and teach it to always drive backwards.

Maybe I’ve just had bad luck, but I would delete a water heater entirely before going back to a tank style water heater. We had issues with the water reacting with the sacrificial anode that created h2s, so in the truck camper and the Airstream, we left the tanks drained and bypassed. For us, the Truma is a godsend.

I noticed the post about the rusted stair rod end and washers, and while that’s not an issue for us, it seems to be more difficult to get them started to retract than when we purchased our Ollie. I was thinking about using paraffin or some other dry lubricant to “grease the skids”. Any suggestions?

Hi Kathlyn, I must have missed your post while traveling last month. A belated welcome to you. We met a lady full timer while camping in Anza Borrego. She was in a 16’ Airstream Bambi, pulled by a Toyota Tacoma, had been on the road for a couple of years, and was very happy with the lifestyle. It sounds like you would do quite well as a full time RVer.
