Black Canyon of the Gunnison fire 😞

We have been fortunate enough to have toured and enjoyed this beautiful NP twice. It was sad to learn about this fire caused by multiple lightning strikes.

We to enjoyed our stay there. Hopefully they can recover over the next year.

Sorry to hear this. We have not had the pleasure to visit there, but hope to in the future.

We were just there 3 weeks ago!

It’s been drought out West for a couple years now. We got our first rain this week since last fall!

You can access Black Canyon from the north side of the canyon.  We stayed at Crawford State Park for a few days some years ago and it’s only about a 15 minute drive to the canyon.  There’s a small tent camping area there and you can hike along the canyon without ever entering the National Park.  It gives a different perspective than you get from the NP side.  Recommend doing the National Park before though!  Mike
