Patriot Posted July 18 Posted July 18 We have been fortunate enough to have toured and enjoyed this beautiful NP twice. It was sad to learn about this fire caused by multiple lightning strikes. https://www.gjsentinel.com/news/western_colorado/officials-offer-grim-insight-into-wildfire-at-black-canyon/article_806a965f-098f-4332-a404-1ad5ffb96eae.html 1 1 4 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor aka - “Beast of Burden” Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles. jd1923 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 We were just there 3 weeks ago! It’s been drought out West for a couple years now. We got our first rain this week since last fall! 4 1 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!

Moderators Mike and Carol Posted July 19 Moderators Posted July 19 You can access Black Canyon from the north side of the canyon. We stayed at Crawford State Park for a few days some years ago and it’s only about a 15 minute drive to the canyon. There’s a small tent camping area there and you can hike along the canyon without ever entering the National Park. It gives a different perspective than you get from the NP side. Recommend doing the National Park before though! Mike 2 Texas Hill Country | 2016 Elite II #135 | 2020 Ram 2500 6.7L
mountainoliver Posted Tuesday at 06:35 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:35 PM We were just there a few weeks ago. Very sad to hear about the fire there. We were also camping at the Grand Canyon north rim last summer. The visitor center is gone now due to fires and the camp we stayed at is probably gone as well. Sad! 1 2017 Elite II, Hull #208 2019 Chevy HD 2500 Duramax
routlaw Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Haven't been there yet. We were close back in the spring at Colorado National Monument and discussed going down there and now wish we had. Campground host at CNM were headed there for there next duty within the next week or so. Great loss. 2 Legacy Elite II #70
