csevel Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I've hated my red satin compartment straps since the day I brought ILOVHER home. They never seemed to be on the outside of the lid! I found some of these grommet straps at my local discount outlet store for three for a buck! More robust nylon, longer and and nice grommet to hang on to. A washer and screwdriver and you're done! Here's a link to similar. https://www.amazon.com/TCH-Hardware-Nylon-Strap-Grommets/dp/B085CNGRFP 1 7 1 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport 5.7L V8 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Hull #184 ~ "ILOVHER"

Almost like forgetting to pull the valve handle in the bath. 🤬 1 Grant 2022 GMC Denali 2500 HD 2019 Elite 11😎
John E Davies Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 Nice mod, but does the thicker material cause the hatch cover to rock any, since it is held up higher in the center? I guess you could file a recess in the edge of the lip. I have had my satin ones get trapped, but after a few times and some swearing,I learned to actually hold onto them when lowering the cover back down, and it doesn’t happen any more. I did add fender washers, like yours, because the tiny screw head is inadequate. I hope Oliver fixed that issue, that was in 2017…. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/2160-how-to-fix-your-inside-access-panel-straps-wrong-hardware/ John Davies Spokane WA SOLD 07/23 "Mouse": 2017 Legacy Elite II Two Beds, Hull Number 218, See my HOW TO threads: Tow Vehicle: 2013 Land Cruiser 200, 32” LT tires, airbags, Safari snorkel, Maggiolina Grand Tour 360 Carbon RTT.

The nylon is thicker but it doesn't seem to matter. Since I tend to be a little obsessive, I even took all the stickers off the hatches that 'aren't for storage' and also removed the screws. I added some white snap caps to the screw holes and now have access to all of the compartments in the event of a mechanical need. Obviously, I'm bored. 😉 1 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport 5.7L V8 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Hull #184 ~ "ILOVHER"
