  1. I think it was Steve who showed us this ladder that fits in the closet and I added it to the Oliver Wish List that Karen started - https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/DVETVI1ZF5E8/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2 Anyway, the telescoping ladder went on sale today for 47% off or $46.00, so if you've been thinking about it then here's the link Every now and again I check to see what prices have dropped and this one is significant :) This folding ladder also has a 30% price drop and is a great ladder - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VMXV10C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DVETVI1ZF5E8&coliid=I31X7LS4KLFWZG

  2. Hi Bill, Sorry for the delay. Have been traveling on business last couple of days. As to your comment about getting out to CO, there are numerous places both State Parks and just plain old recreational areas. In our experience, we love visiting repeatedly the following: Turquoise Lake Recreational Area - outside Leadville, CO - side note: Leadville is the highest (elevation) incorporated city in the US Steamboat Lake State Park - scenery awesome! Lottis campground on the famous Taylor River or any other campgrounds at Taylor Campgrounds near Crested Butte - scenery will blow you away Carter Lake I could go on. If you want RV parks near towns i.e. gambling meccas, great KOA in Central City. Now, gambling here is not like a big city. Talking about a small mountain town with great mountain views at the KOA because of elevation. Hope this helps you and if you plan a trip out this way, lets talk and maybe meet up. I'm retiring in March 31st. and go the Hohenwald to get our Ollie on April 17th. The anticipation is overwhelming sometimes.

  3. I see that there's a company in Sweden that also goes by the name Telesteps. Their ladders actually look nicer and they have some interesting accessories like adjustable feet. Overthinking this as usual, but I did send them an email to ask if they're related to the US Telesteps and if there's any way to get their products here. It seems like the world has become filled with ripoff products over the last few years, and it's impossible to know what you're buying sometimes. These ladders are just one of countless examples. I'm not sure if I'm following the logic of counting reviews. It seems a given that a $200 ladder will have fewer reviews than a $50 one. I'd be more concerned with the percentage of bad reviews, and what those reviewers are critical of, rather than the total count.

  4. Actually, I'll take back my previous post. It looks like the telesteps ladder that Randy originally recommended is in fact a different design and gets much better ratings. https://www.amazon.com/Telesteps-1400E-OSHA-Compliant-Silver/dp/B003YJLFCQ/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&dpID=417zaxKIYgL&dpPl=1&keywords=telestep&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&qid=1483261094&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_6&sr=8-6

  5. You can cut corners on quality with lots of stuff, but a ladder is a critical safety item. Do not buy no-name junk! One fall from six feet off the ground can maim you for life or worse. It is simply not worth the risk. Stay safe. OTH: I bought a brand new $300 Werner commercial grade fiberglass ladder that is cracked right though a main beam. There was evidence of distress on the inside of the C channel, and a 14 inch crack is what I found when I peeled off the huge label from the other side. I caught the damage in time that it was not a problem, but returns can be agravating and time consuming.... You need to be really careful with any ladder, and inspect it before every use. Buying from Amazon is a very good idea since they have such a good return system. John Davies Spokane WA

  6. Hey guys, be careful with that $46 ladder, the reviews on it don't look too good.

  7. I decided to go with a two canister system and it has worked very well. I ordered it from: https://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/index.htm This is a great website and business. You can learn a lot there, at least I did. They also sell the best hoses I've come across. Our first filter is for sediment, the second is a carbon filter that is rated to .5 microns. Plugged into the spigots at all our camp spots, the water flow has been more than adequate. Although not in the picture below, I have since added a wye to the outflow side of the system so that I can fill water jugs more easily. Currently, we don't drink from the onboard tanks but have separate water jugs for that. The tanks are probably fine and no doubt we'll do that some day, but old habits are hard to break I guess. Plugging the filters into the "City Water" and "Fresh Water" inlets has been very easy and works well. I have not yet tried siphoning through the filters using the on board water pump. I hope this will be doable. The stand is just a piece of plywood I drilled two holes in that the filter housings drop in to. Keeps connections off the ground and stores flat! A pretty simple setup and replacement filters are available everywhere. Dave

  8. Alright now. This has been an interesting exercise in communication. Thanks to all who participated. There were several opportunities for misunderstandings and I think we managed to hit most of them (to include my outdated information on the way it used to be 7 years ago). I caught the joke, Overland. It was a subtle one and I understand how it might be mistaken. Thanks to Jason for filling in the historical background on the numerous changes to the axles over the years and for committing to have the current website information corrected. I believe this topic has nicely been put to bed. Now, lets all join hands around the campfire and break out in a rousing verse of Kumbaya . . . .
