  1. We spent September touring Colorado with a short detour into Utah from Mesa Verde to visit Canyonlands NP and Arches NP at Moab, Utah. We stayed at Horsethief Campground, one of many BLM campgrounds in the area (recommended by Scubarx). With the senior discount it was $6/night. It’s open all year with 60 sites. There are no hookups, no water and no dump station. Each site was level, nice picnic table, fire ring and views. Vault toilets were clean and odor free. It’s a half mile off the highway about 5 miles from Canyonlands NP and about 12 miles from Moab and Arches NP. It’s first come first served and filled up by the time it got dark. We arrived around 1:00pm and had a good number of sites to choose from. Sites are well spaced so you’re shouting distance from your neighbors. We will definitely stay there again. Our site. You can see our neighbor, not too close Quiet site, good view, adult beverage, relaxing after a day of hiking in Canyonlands NP Mike

  2. Sometimes a trip to a dealership can take forever. Today was not one of those days. I finally pulled the plug on my new TV and purchased a Chevy 4WD, Diesel, AT, 2500 truck. I like it, drives nice, rides good and most importantly I feel like I got a good deal. Now I just have for wait until April to get my LE2. Things are coming together. I can't thank you guys enough for helping me pick the right one for me.

  3. While we were camped at Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, Colorado in September, we came across this Casita while on an evening walk. Hmmmmm..... Mike

  4. However - I have the smaller (4 panel) version of the CLAM. While it will not fit over a picnic table, it does have enough room (barely) for four people and chairs. The main advantage though is the fact that it fits nicely in the closet of the Oliver. So, unless you are having a bunch of people over and/or want to have it over the picnic table you might want to consider this smaller version. Bill

  5. We have a clam! It does go up & down very easy. They are heavy. And storing in the bed of the f-150 is challenging. We have been putting in on top of all the totes filled with stuff..... so it has to be shifted or moved to get at anything. Will be trying something new for the November trip. Built a crude shelf where the cap bolts onto the truck and will store it there .. along with chairs and other bulky things. We have a cargo glide so getting to the totes underneath should not be too much of a problem. In the summer the clam can be hot. Breezes don't penetrate the netting easily. It's pretty big so you can fit a couple of camp chairs and a small table in pretty easily. Sometimes can be tough finding a spot for it in a small campsite. All in all we are glad we have it. Scotty
