  2. Yes, it's about the size of a deck of cards. I keep mine in the rear Oliver light and plugged into USB, all accessible in the rear overhead, so no need to worry about battery changing

  3. My only component issue was handled through Oliver, it was only the water pump but they said it was under manufacturer warranty so they sent me a new one and asked me to send the bad one to them to send back to the manufacturer.

  4. So, Paul was very busy today. Took out the old microwave that died from lack of use, years ago. Since we almost never camp with power, I want to replace it with a storage cabinet. Has anyone done this as a retrofit? Or at purchase? Looking for ideas. I'd like to keep the 110 outlet, but not necessary. We'll pull the rest of the fitting bits and threaded rod, etc from the original install of the unused microwave., and "archive" them somewhere in the garage. The space occupied by the microwave is huge compared to the storage inside the actual microwave cavity. Kind of excited to create a new dish locker. Or something.. Originally, I had hoped to replace the microwave with s mini oven, but none of the European models that fit the space have even fair reviews. So, cabinet it is. Perhaps convert to an oven in five or ten years. We'll have a spare gas connection, as we are also replacing the three way fridge with a danfoss compressor electric refrigerator. Sherry

  8. Update: I towed about 800 more miles since posting. The wear on the ball seems to have stabilized (as shown in the first pictures). I am going to live with it for now. I am still unhappy but if needed I will get a new 2 5/16 replacement coupler and matching Anderson ball. John Davies Spokane WA

  9. In the "Owner's Manual" that I received there were a bunch of warranty cards from Dometic, Suburban and ????. I copied them, sent them in or tried to fill them out online. Included in the Owner's Manual was a list of all the non-Oliver supplied equipment which included serial numbers and model numbers for each piece of equipment. Now, having said this, all I ever got back were requests to extend the usual lame warranties at what I felt to be rather high prices. The failure of a refrigerator control panel was taken care of by the good guys at Oliver without mention of a warranty card. The failure of the Furrion radio was also taken care of by the good guys at the plant even though there never was any warranty card for that product. So, bottom line is that I simply would not worry about it, but, I would follow Jason Walmsley's advice above. Remember, you've got a one year bumper to bumper warranty from Oliver and you've already filled that card - your final payment check. For those products that have a warranty longer than the one year, I'm absolutely certain that Oliver will help you with any claims you may have. Bill

  10. I had a stereo problem. Called OTT, and 4 days later I installed a new unit, under warranty. OTT wanted me to take it to any dealer to have them install it. Talked with the manufacturer about some test to verify the defect and they sent the unit to me direct. Not once did anyone ask about a warranty card.

  11. We sure love boondocking... And here in California, us retirees pay half the going rate in state parks, so we hit up Red Rock Canyon state park again on our way south to the Sedona, AZ Rally this Thursday and boondocked in the beauty of the place. There were only 2 other RV's in the place, so we had the whole back half of the campground to ourselves :)

  13. Yes, that's right. The Victron control panel is tied to the Cradlepoint via ethernet and connects automatically to Victron's server to upload data, including it's GPS coordinates. The location is then shown on a google map inset at the bottom of the Victron VRM dashboard.

  14. We have a Spot - it's the only option I know of that has satellite based communication rather than cellular, so if your trailer is ever stolen you'd have a better chance of locating it. The drawback is that the software isn't great and so if you're using it to give a link to friends and family to follow you along, we've found that they'll have a hard time actually following your path anywhere. I asked Oliver to install it under the AC cover but of course they forgot and mounted it out in the open where anyone can see it. So moving it and plugging the hole they drilled is just another of the many things on my list to redo. I also added a cheapy bluetooth GPS module to our Victron system as a backup. It's cellular based so it would have to be in range to track, but it's less likely for anyone to find and it's free (minus the admission fee). I just tucked the receiver behind the insulation and taped it to the inside of the hull and it seems to get a signal just fine.

  15. Don't sweat it, those temps are easy. Below 20° for a low, turn on the water heater at night... You just don't want to be hooked up to a water supply when it's below freezing because the water will freeze in the hose and work it's way inside. But filling the tank, then unhooking is no problem. Just drain out your hose and put it away. I just switched out our hoses to collapsible that fits into a Good Sam storage bag - http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/zerog-hose-25-x-1-2-/101067 Reed

  16. When setting up to run below freezing, you need to have a tank full of water to help keep it warm down there. I don't see how you could get any numbers with only dead air space down below but then we've never tried a dry run. We've had it down to 18° with plenty of heat down there but we have a completely different configuration with the Suburban heater and the Truma tankless water heater that we are running in winter mode as it is snowing a little here tonight with about half of a tank of water.
