We're building an index of 3rd party repair facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. We're only looking for facilities that you have personally taken your Oliver Travel Trailer to. A small long tube funnel will allow vinegar to be put into the water heater. Then let it set. That should help on anything sitting on the bottom. Don't be surprised if some flake off from else where in the heater later. The use of the wand should help, so spray it up and around. The smiley face I have noticed on most of the plumbing fittings. I think that is probably put on by quality control as a way to signify that there are no leaks at that fitting.

hellsbay - yes, simply use the "winterization" procedure to bring water into your system, but do not turn the water heater by-pass valve. Note that you will have to flush the water heater after treatment with the vinegar and in doing so you will also flush the other water lines as well. Bill

During the long wait for pick up day I admit to spending a lot of time lurking on the Oliver forum - so much great info and experience, thank you so much for all your contributions! But as a newbie to towing and trailer camping, somewhere in that process I began to get very anxious about the learning curve we were facing. There was so much discussion about the different systems and modifications and configuration options and work arounds and etc etc - all of it great info btw, this is not a complaint in any way - but it was all so foreign to me that I began to form the impression that this new life we were embarking upon was going to be a lot of work. It didn't take long in our Ollie for that anxiety to melt away. This trailer has everything we need and then some. Lights? Flip a switch. Hot water? Turn on the faucet. Below freezing outside? The furnace works great. Everything you need is there and easy to use out of the box. Yes, you do need to learn the systems...but not overnight. Over the last month we've slowly made our way further away from the mothership as we gained confidence in the abilities of both ourselves and our new trailer. The wealth of info in the forum has been an invaluable resource as we figure out how it all works and get our travel legs built up. But I'm very happy to report that nothing yet has felt like hard work...and that anxiety? Disappeared before we checked out of Fall Hollow after our first weekend:) We're Greg and Theresa Kopish, we'll be posting as Grumble and Twist. Is the "filter" the screen at the end of the faucet? If so, maybe you could soak the whole unit in a solution of a product simular to Lime-a-way. (There are a lot of home made solutions that work too, distilled white vinegar usually involved). Mostly you see them advertised for a showerhead. Maybe a messy step to try to see if that is where the problem lays? You could be off the city water and on the pump system. Shut off the pump. Remove the drawers. Disconnect the hose going to the faucet. Briefly turn on the pump. If water comes out the hose? Problem is surely the faucet. Guess an alternative is to replace the faucet, but would hope that is a last chance solution...
