  1. Hi Paul and Donna, Like you, our Ollie is our first camper, and we had a lot to learn. Also like you, we delayed our pickup, in our case because of work obligations. During this waiting time I did a lot of research on what was needed for a trailer, as well as where we wanted to camp. The anticipation was lots of fun! There have been many discussions on this and other forums as to what to bring for pickup. Rather than putting my list up here, I am posting the sites that I found most useful in making my list of what to buy and bring for pickup. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/preparing-for-your-oliver-pick-up-day/ http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/supplies-for-picking-up-oliver/ http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/buzzys-delivery-day/#post-34668 http://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/things-to-get-started-144940.html http://rvroadtrip.us/library/what_do_i_need_in_my_new_camper.php http://www.backroadtravelers.com/outfittingrv.html http://www.rvtechmag.com/tech/45_outfitting.php http://travellogs.us/Technical%20Info/Essential%20equipment.htm http://travellogs.us/Technical%20Info/Check%20list%20RVing%20Things.htm Our tow vehicle was packed to the gills on pickup, and we brought the must-haves, and some nice-to-haves. In our household coffee makings things are must-haves! In the past year and a half, the number of nice-to-haves and decadent-items has certainly increased, but that has been part of the fun. The search functions on this forum are certainly lacking, and hope there are improvements when Jason rolls out the new forum. Try the search to answer your questions, but if that fails ask away on the forum. This is an incredibly knowledgeable and helpful group. Look forward to meeting you at the rally.

  2. The blind are not secure and you may find one lying on the bed or floor, and it is due to improper installation of the steel brackets. On my trailer, in many cases the bracket did not sit flush and parallel with the others. This is due to the hole in the hard spacer being drilled too small. The hole must be bigger than the screw diameter, so that the screw will pull everything into position. You need to remove all the brackets and open up the spacer holes. Removing the blind frame is simple, grab at the top and bottom and pull hard toward you. When reinstalling, center the frame in the window (left to right), align the bottom brackets with the slot in the plastic, and smack the area at each bracket with your fist. Then do the top side. When the brackets are parallel and aligned, the frame will go on easily and it should stay in place. You can tweek a bracket by bending the two ears, if you find a loose one. Before: After: SAFETY NOTE: when removing a bracket with a power driver, keep your fingers away from the part since it will spin and might slice your fingers! If you want to make your blinds more functional, flip them 180 degrees, so that the dark section is on the bottom. As postioned by the factory: Rotated, now you can tow with the blinds down and the lighter shades will let lots of light into the interior: And you can raise the lower section a few inches for privacy when camping: It's easy to try this configuration and switch back if you don't like it. Now we can talk about the ugly frame color..... John Davies Spokane WA

  3. Myself, Paul, and my wife Donna have a deposit down for an Elite II. We went to the factory last week and placed the order for our trailer with a scheduled delivery of May, 2018* in anticipation of our pending retirements in December of this year. Donna has worked for a utility company here in VA for almost 40 years (but too young to retire until this December) and I am going to depart from Federal service at the same time with just over 39 years of service. I could have fully retired several years ago but Donna (who works from home many days) advised me that she "married me for-better-or-for-worse, BUT NOT FOR LUNCH!" To that end, I have continued to commute 150 miles a day and enjoy doing so. (I am told, that's how I feel). *(We have since changed our production date to a 2019 delivery due to significant tax considerations which actually works out best since we won't have much free time in 2018 anyway.) Having never owned an RV before, we are intending to attend the rally this year (staying in a cabin) so we can meet other trailer owners and get some ideas/suggestions of the essentials that we need to obtain before taking delivery of our trailer next year. We don't want to show up and go to the complimentary overnight campground the factory provides and look at each other and say, "Honey, did you bring something to make coffee in?" or "I thought you brought the toilet paper!" When we took the tour last week, Bill and Elaine (from NM) were taking delivery of their new Elite II and we noticed literally a truck load of things they brought with them to put into the new trailer based on their experiences from having owned several trailers. We apparently have a lot to learn. Again, looking forward to meeting up with current Ollie owners and if anyone has suggestions to pass on even prior to the rally, please feel free to send them our way. Interior items, exterior items, "must-haves", "nice-to-haves", and "it's just plain decadent but this is something we really like...". Thanks in advance for any insights. 4. Taking delivery of my Legacy II on Thursday and hoping to camp one night near the factory for orientation. I’ll contact Oliver tomorrow to make sure this is still possible. Looks like it will freeze Thursday night so I have a heated drinking water hose as well as an extension cord to reach the external 110 outlet on the curb side of the trailer. I plan to winterize before hauling back to Virginia and have watched to YouTube video on what to do. That leads to the following questions. I have the right type antifreeze and the hand pump. Does the trailer come with a 3’ piece of Hose or will I need one? If so I’ll buy a cheap Hose and sacrifice it. Is the 1 1/16” socket to drain the water heater provided? Anything else you veterans suggest I need?

  5. Don't know for certain, but I think it was the early mid 200's. Mine is #256 - went through the line in the Aug/Sept timeframe, and has the white blinds. At least a few months production ahead of mine had them. Getting time we started an Ollie registry to keep track of model changes. On ours the solid shade is heavy enough that not all of them want to stay closed when flipped. It takes a few tries on a couple of them to get the blinds to stick closed, and occasionally even when we do get them to stick, the bottom shade will pop loose later and drop an inch or two. Not a huge deal, but I wish there was a way to adjust the tension.

  6. Socket is not provided, but they should have one you can borrow. You will need a short piece of hose.

  7. Spike: The tow capacity is from my original brochure from Toyota. Yes, I have kept it all these years. I had a devil of a time finding the MFG max tongue weight. I did finally get this spec's off the internet. Frankly, I had a hard time with the 1300 pound number myself. Besides, even if the Sequoia could handle it, the hitch can't. I could find the Class III Receiver Hitch info. It is much more realistic: Trailer Receiver Size: 2 Inch Hitch Opening Towing Capacity: 500 Pound Tongue Weight and 5000 Pound Towing Weight Distribution Towing Capacity: 650 Pound Tongue Weight and 6500 Pound Towing This makes finding the right one pretty much a requirement I think. Thanks for the push back on the numbers. GJ

  8. Trish & Jack, I am so jealous of those white blinds.... I wonder what it would cost to replace the yellow ones.. The frosted doors look great with the "bar"

  9. We picked our trailer up on 12/19. We opted for the storage cabinet rather than microwave. The plan was for a toaster oven but none that I wanted would fit so we made a bar out of it. I love it! Here is a picture.
