  1. We are ready to leave FL in the morning to visit the mothership and pickup Hull #444 on Thursday (04-04-2019). My 2015 Toyota Tundra Limited, 5.7L, 4WD is packed with way too much stuff after a year of following forum suggestions, which has resulted in soooooo many Amazon purchases - Clam tent, Blackstone griddle, beautiful wooden shower mat and sink cover (thank you Foy), rugs, chairs, pillows, blankets, table, water filter and regulator, electricity stuff, tape, door magnets, coconut coir, Magna cookware with induction stovetop, tools, Andersen levelers, wheel chocks, LevelMate Pro leveler system, LP gas quick connect hose, Solo Stove Bonfire, Mifi 8800L jetpack, TPMS, Yeti Tundra 65 cooler, food, drink, clothes, portable air compressor, propane monitor, Honda 2200i generator... Got everything except the Oliver Legacy Elite II (and, will have that this Thursday). Plan to stay in Dickson, TN, at the Montgomery Bell State Park for three nights and learn the Oliver trailer. Not too far from the factory in case assistance is needed. Then, back to FL for Karren to do her magic inside the trailer before the Rally in May. Looking at my overpacked TV, I am thinking all we really needed was blankets, pillows, and maybe a coffee maker. Way too much stuff for a maiden voyage. Over time, we will learn how to camp properly.

  2. Looks like you are picking up today. I remark because we drove from Arizona to pick up our Ollie almost two years ago with our 2013 Toyota Tundra Limited, 5.7L, 4WD loaded with many of the same accouterments that you report. Hull #222. You doubled our hull number and added two years to our Tundra. I wonder if, in a couple more years, we will read about a 2017 Tundra picking up an Ollie that triples our hull number: #666.

  3. I saw those when I did my shopping last year. Real slick little units. But at $50 for each sensor it was a bit too much to swallow at the time. Still, I like the data logging capability, and an app is much easier to check from bed in the morning or outside the trailer than an LCD on a bulkhead with limited viewing angle. How do you like them? Is the app reliable at reading temps? Like from the time you open the app, does it acquire the sensors pretty quickly? How well does it handle displaying multiple sensors? I'm curious about your outside sensor location. Do you feel that having it under the propane cover gives you a fairly accurate measure of outdoor air temp?

  5. Use a 10 amp, that is the specs for the connector and you don’t need to downsize it. The male plug is rated at 20 amps and you need to use as large a cable as possible. I used 10 AWG and it was a tight fit. Soldering was a little tricky, you need a big iron. The bigger the conductor, the less the voltage drop. This is very important with longer cables when you are using a regulated panel that is only putting out less than 15 volts at best, at its onboard controller. The factory location is ideal, it is super easy to reach it from under the dinette and also to run the cable into the battery compartment. John Davies Spokane WA

  6. I like the idea of having the port either at the front or the back, so that you don't limit your distance from the trailer if the sun is on the curb side. You might have an easier time running the wiring from the back though.

I have to admit that I’m a little uncomfortable with that method, since the 2” Bulldogs come with the holes predrilled to Oliver Trailers and they probably match the tongue holes precisely since they are built on a jig. Going the other way, drilling new holes in the steel to exactly match the old worn ones in the tongue, is tricky at best. I haven’t done this mod yet but I would probably bolt the coupler down, drill a third “keeper” bolt hole right in the center, remove the coupler and then and bed the upper part in epoxy so it can’t shift.... there are tremendous loads on it from the Andersen chains and once it starts moving it will worsen with hard use. It should be a very precise fit. That’s me though, anal plus. It would be helpful if Oliver could provide a technical drawing showing the exact measurements for the mounting holes.   8. I would start there - the inverter and the GFCI. If you can replace the plug, do that, if problem persists, its probably an inverter issue. But as has been suggested, verify all connections are sound. Good luck.

  9. You said that you used a space heater this winter. Check inside of the metal junction box that’s close to the inverter. It’s a standard household 4in square galvanized box. Mine and a few others have had a similar problem as you. Mine turned out to be a bunch of loose connections inside this box. One of the wires and it’s wire nut completely melted into. Luckily in mine nothing touched the box. There are solid house type wires connected to stranded wire with wire nuts. It’s difficult to get a solid connection with solid and stranded wire together in a wire nut. Don’t just check the wire nuts for tightness but remove each nut and check that all of the wires are actually in the nut. There could be a short inside this box so make sure that ALL power is off before even touching the metal box as a hot wire may be against the box. This may not be your specific problem but it’s an easy thing to check.

  10. I just measured the placement of the holes from the 2” hitch and laid out the holes on the 2-5/16” hitch to match.

  11. That sounds like an internal neutral/ground fault. When the neutral and ground come together in our trailers it will blow a GFI Outlet.

  12. John, thanks for posting the link on the aftermarket male connector for the Furrion port. It's the same one we used. Furrion has not yet made their proprietary connector available, to my knowledge . Paul found the connections a bit tedious, but it's working for us, so far. There is a zamp to Furrion convertor on the zamp site, and amazon. These two remind me of vhs and beta battling it out... Furrion ports on a bunch of manufacturers units, Zamp on a bunch of others...   13. On my trip back from Hohenwald from picking up my new Elite the main front driver's side window shade/frame fell off and broke. My first experience with Oliver service was amazing. The channel that holds the frame to the window had cracked and split so it would not grip the brackets that hold it to the window. The Oliver service technician I spoke with said a new frame would be sent out. A few days later it arrived. This kind of service is unheard of in the RV industry, thanks Oliver.

  14. This boarders on amazing - doesn't it. We owners try to tell people about this product and company all the time, but, since there is little or nothing that compares to it all I sense is that the person I'm talking to is trying to figure out exactly why I'm saying these things since they obviously just can't be true. It is unfortunate that things happen and things break. But, it is certainly wonderful when a company really does stand behind its product and promise. Bill

  15. If I were ordering one today it would be a Renogy 100 watt folding suitcase with controller and carry case, it is highly regarded at Expedition Portal. Not my rig... but I love those round ARB LED driving lights, they will absolutely blow out your retinas if you look at them directly. John Davies Spokane WA

  16. I haven’t looked at a current production trailer, but this is what they installed in mine (218). The installation instructions call for an inline 10 amp fuse to protect the wiring inside the trailer. Mine did not have one... make sure yours does. The positive and negative wires run directly to the battery, so you need a panel with an onboard charge controller and an output of no more than about 8 amps. A 100 or 120 watt would be perfect. I sourced a compatible 20 amp male plug and high quality Anderson Powerpole connectors to make a heavy gauge power cable to run my ARB fridge (inside my truck) off the trailer when parked. It works dandy. And I can use the cable as an extension for a solar panel in the future. I can post more info if anyone is interested.
