  1. Here's what I carry - Plumbing: ½" brass pex fittings: elbows (2), tees (2), ½" NPT adapters (2), ½" NPT elbow adapters (2), ½" valve (1) #4 stainless hose clamps (8) ½" press-fit end cap (1) ½" pex tubing (6 feet) - a single long piece is easy to stuff in the hull and not get lost ½" flex hose (1) Male garden hose fitting (1) Female garden hose fitting (1) Garden hose splice (1) Garden hose washers (4) Garden hose screen washers (2) Spare water pump - yes, I carry a complete spare pump Kitchen faucet repair kit - this kit came with my kitchen faucet Silicone tape Press-fit removal tool Bolt cutters - to remove copper crimps Utility knife You'll note that I don't carry a lot of press-fit stuff or a crimper. For emergency repairs, I think it's more practical to carry the small brass fittings and use hose clamps. You can always swap them out for crimps later (though honestly the pipe clamps hold better). They're almost as easy to use as press-fit stuff and take up much less room. Plus there are places in my trailer that are too tight for press-fit fittings anyway, and it would be silly to carry two types. Electrical: 12 awg wire (15') 12/3 romex (3') Wire nuts (4) Wago lever nuts (assortment) Misc 12 volt fittings (assortment) Misc 12 volt fuses (assortment) Primary 400A fuse (1) Jack fuses (4) Spare GFCI outlet (1) - very important! Locking cigarette lighter plug (1) Refrigerator light bulbs (2) Lamp light bulbs (2) - for the lamp I installed on the nightstand Electrical tape Crimper/Stripper Misc Parts: Spare propane regulator (1) Spare awning clips (2) - these are the little orange clips on the Carefree awnings that are destined to break one day Misc Repair Items: 3M 4200 (1 3 oz tube) 3M 4000UV (1 3 oz tube) Silicone sealant (1 3 oz tube) Eternabond roof repair tape (1 roll) Awning repair tape (12") Screen repair tape (assortment) Clear tenacious tape (12") 1" Gorilla tape (1 roll) Bungee cords (various) Zip ties (various) Metal wire (1 roll) Velcro strips (various) 1" VHB tape (1 roll) WD-40 (1 3 oz can) Lithium grease (1 1.5 oz tube) That looks like a ton of stuff, but the majority of it fits in a 12" x 12" x 4" Blue Ridge tool bag that stuffs easily in the basement. A few of the larger spares are in a box that's secured between the hulls along with some other items like the romex and pex tube , small things that I'm more likely to use I keep in the utility drawer, and a few things are always in the truck.

  2. We ordered this drying rack for the kitchen sink and thought I would post up in the event anyone is considering one. It rolls up & stows nicely in the sink on top of the micro dish which is wrapped in a towel during travel. The cutting board lays correctly in the sink with rack in storage. Note: The rack can serve as a hot pot trivet if needed ONLY deployed over the sink as pictured do not use as a trivet on the countertop, you risk melting your counter top. Happy Camping!

  3. We have been on pretty long trips with the Oliver, we're about to kick off on a multi-month trip away from home again. The only thing I wish it had, would be a washing machine - ideally a separate washer and dryer. Even before COVID, I wasn't too keen on using campground laundry facilities where folks are inevitably washing their dog beds and cloth diapers. Everything else, we do without. We do use the convection microwave for morale items like cookies and pizzas. Since I do work remotely from the Oliver, I am jealous of folks with toy haulers that fit sit/stand desks in the garage. But as others have said: this thing fits where others don't and no larger trailer has the same quality. We've been to "full" campgrounds that let us get the best view spot that was for "tents only" as we could fit, but no one else can. For me it would be hard to go to something that relies on wood for its structure or that lets rodents get into the undercarriage after the Oliver. If Oliver made a 2' longer one that I could put 24" washer+dryer in, maybe with some other floorplan/usability upgrades that I've whined enough about on here, I'd probably trade up. Other than that I'll stay where I am. We'll probably add a Clam tent for some outside time/space.

  4. Wow, sounds familiar! We just sold our PleasureWAY Motor Home also and now are considering a Oliver -Standard/Twin bed models. We started RVing 30 years ago with 2 PopUps trailers -really liked them, then graduated to a generic 25 foot TT - Towing felt like you were dragging a Parachute behind you and the Quality/Design was SADLY LACKING. We hated the thing and sold it after one trip, didn't lose a dime! We then found a used 25 foot Airstream with Twin Beds, great trailer, we loved it. We stopped RVing and bought a Lake Cabin and went Sailing for 13 years. Bought the PleasureWay, mentioned earlier, and had it for only 2 years, but found it had no Character/Personality. Now, we are considering an Oliver Elite 2. We are attracted to the Quality/Style/Size of the Oliver, as well as the Aerodynamics of the design, which we know will translate into better MPG and easy Towing. The entire scope of the Oliver fits our mind-set. We were able to take advantage of "Oliver's Program" to see an actual Owner's trailer locally and were impressed with what we saw/experienced, very nice person! I am making plans now to attend the Sept 2020 Rally in Alabama to learn more and hopefully get closer to finding a Trailer. Our Tow vehicle maybe a long Wheel Base 4X2 GMC Yukon or a Mercedes Benz ML350 Diesel. I realize the Yukon type vehicle will probably do a better job, but I like the size and characteristics of the MB Diesel. I wasn't familiar with the Anderson Weight Dist Hitch design until I started researching the Oliver and I still questions. Will other WD Hitches work on the Oliver or will access to the front part of the Trailer's Frame restricted by the Propane Cover? As far as the actual Trailer Specs are concerned, we are looking for a Tandem Axle, probably a Standard Floor Plan Elite 2, although we will consider a Twin Bed Floor Plan and will consider any used trailer in any condition. We plan on converting the Standard Floor Plan into a Twin Beds. I understand that Oliver used to offer a "High Rise Twin Bed" kit option, but this was discontinued for some reason, it looked good to me. Any other options, we may want can either be added by Oliver or ourselves at a later date. I would love to discuss any comments and Leads regarding the above! You are welcome to Text me at 513 891 5112 and I'll call you back on my Dime. Thanks Pat

  5. We deliver class c rvs to Alaska. When we come home to our 2008 Elite, there are a few things that I miss. The oven. The bigger shower. The bigger fridge. The onboard generator. A big pantry. What I don't miss, and why we've stayed with our 17 ft 2008: The horrible gas mileage with the typical Triton v10 in the motorhomes. The difficulty of finding small, quiet campsites. With our 4x4 truck, and small trailer we can squeeze into some really delightful, overlooked or unreachable spots. The ability to leave our trailer at a campsite, and explore in the truck alone. Just finding a parking spot to visit a town on a motorhome is far more challenging than going into town with just our truck. I always miss our quiet, reliable solar. Though in a privately owned motorhome, you can have that, and probably do. We've been delivering rvs for six or seven years. We've not been tempted to "change up" our combination of Ollie and truck. I do appreciate the additional room for amenities in a bigger coach. They're just not for us. Every RV, of any size, lives huge on the outside, which is where we spend the majority of our time. 7. Re-caulking is regular maintenance. You'll be doing it soon enough, or paying someone else to.
