So, we spent a day at Abiquiu Lake - COE in NM. it is a decent COE campground, but the lake portion is sort of useless - getting to the water was just - hard - so we went to the tailwaters and let the dog swim. Very hot - so the next morning we went on to Chama NM - found a very nice place - Sky Mountain Resort - and to our surprise - there is another Oliver parked just down the way! What to think - out of the blue we pulled in - and there was another Ollie! RB3 points

Hello fellow travelers!! New year-New Day- Where did Ollie stay today -we are winging it - almost all flipping trip. As the Memphis I 40 bridge has traffic a little slow - we left a day earlier and went by way of West Helena Arkansas, Never been here before -so -why not - And then up to our next stop, and a few more - on the way to Park AZ. So a few strokes on Rec.gov and we snagged a great spot on Enid Lake Mississippi. Persimmon Hill CG is another wonderful COE facility with a geezer pass $12. Spot 50 - on the end of the point - overlooking the lake. Well kept and many miles of park roads to ride/walk. Well worth the time if you are in the area. I hope many will contribute to this 2021 Summer posting. I am going to try to keep it going - depending on the digital domain availability. Verizon that is ------- Our loosely made plans - are to traverse the heartland - I-40 until we hit the in-laws home at 7500 ft' - stay awhile then head out - to ????. And where are you my fine fiber glassed friends? To steal from the Who - Where are you, where where - tell me- where are you- because I really want to know.... On the road again, RB,CB and the Dog. And to edit - fuel prices went up in AL, and down in Mississippi. Interesting - must be the tax base.1 point

We all owe you and Dewdev a big ol’ thank you for putting it together. Deb and I had a blast, and will figure out how to be there from start to finish should there be another event in the future.1 point

Technically, 3 db doubles the sound energy, but perception is 10 decibels doubles the sound. It's exponential, not linear, but not quite that bad. Many of the "other brand" gensets are pretty quiet these days. The Westinghouse 2500 we bought is, indeed, a little louder than our 14 year old Honda 1000, but not by a lot. I also don't have high expectations of 15 to 20 years of service, but it has done quite well in its first 100 hours of service, running saws and charging cordless tool batteries, and the sound levels are quite tolerable. Def not the quiet and quality of a Honda or yamaha, but pretty nice for the price. We have 4 generators, all for different purposes. A big yamaha, the tiny Honda, the midsized Westinghouse, and a huge open frame (very noisy, quite old) from Chicago Electric to run a log splitter and a few other non-electronic things. The only noisy one is the big open frame. And, it's close to 15 years old, too.1 point

Garageboy and TravelTogether, Welcome from North Carolina. We scheduled an Oliver plant tour during May 2016, before heading to TN for the plant tour the former owners of our Ollie LE2 put it up for sale in the classified section here. We went for the plant tour and drove to MO later that day to see Ollie. Purchased Ollie #75 the following day! No regrets!1 point

Trekhard Your idea is a great one. Once you have it done be prepared, the Oliver is already a magnet where people always stop and ask questions. I owned the pictured Car trailer every where I went mostly at fuel stops I had someone wanting to take photos and asking questions. Many offers to use the trailer for display for events etc. I was happy to help when possible. My point is you will be come a somewhat of a instant celebrity. I had a lot of fun with the trailer and met some amazing people. I sold the trailer a few years ago. No regrets I’d do it again. I don’t think I would do my camping trailer to much exposure. Just a thought good luck1 point

The AG units are very nicely packaged junk if you are looking for something to keep in a vehicle. Like all the others they cannot tolerate high temperatures. Early on, the company was claiming that they could be stored at high temps (60C) but the latest specs have been lowered to 45 degrees C, if I remember correctly, which is 113 degrees F. Their warranty is a joke and their customer service painful. The XP10 is great when it works, but these are made to keep in your garage, not the car. The HF unit is truly an exception. It is not a store brand, but actually is made by Viking and sold elsewhere for lots more $$. Don't buy one off eBay for $125! HF gets a very bad rap but my local store has treated me well, and I do research their stuff well before buying, which is not very often. Usually it's in an emergency when I really need a left handed orbital franistan and all I can find in my tool box is the right handed one .... LOL. I am actually a little embarrassed to own an electronic tool from HF, most of mine come from HD (Home Depot), and I am a huge fan of DeWalt. Finally, I added a big nylon tie at the two big wires coming off the jump start plug, for strain relief. John Davies Spokane1 point
