  1. Wouldn't work well with a composting toilet.
  2. We rarely replace working equipment, also.
  3. @jd1923, it's easy, and you will make your wife very happy, imo.
  4. "If" I powdercoated the steps, I'd probably go with silver. Aluminum color. I treat mine with garage door silicone spray, and no issues. White would undoubtedly get really dirty looking, riding where they do. The incredibly sturdy double step is standard for most of you, but it was an upgrade (years later) for those of us with 2008's. I cracked a rib on a crazy site trying to reach a footstool below the step. 2010? It flipped. Anyway, one of the best upgrades, ever, standard for all you new folks.
  5. We used a plug in "cigarette plug" charger for laptop. Don't carry one anymore. Phones and USB tablet are fine. We don't watch TV, so yeah, not an issue. I have 12v hair dryer (somewhere, havent used it in 20 years) and a 12v blender, from the late 70s. I cook on fire, grill, or lp stove. We're admittedly oddball. We camp to get away from the signals and entanglement, but keep a line open for family. I honestly don't care about ever getting another hard-wired inverter. But that's me. Everyone has a different camping style, and they should equip their trailer accordingly.
  6. Call Ryan at Blue sky/sunforge. Or, send him an email. He's so very helpful. Our Blue Sky gear has been incredibly dependable.
  7. Yes. I'm in that "no inverter " camp. I'm used to 12v life, for 40 + years. We had one, for a few years, didn't use it much, so removed it. Everyone has a different camping style. Pick your batteries and gear for what you need, and want. It's all good.
  8. We've had the fan, with the soft led ring light for almost four years now. It's the bomb. Quiet. The overhead light is a joy. Plus, easily accessible fuse, should we ever need to replace it. Install was easy, as I recall. I'm sure I have a post somewhere.
  9. If that gives air movement to the fridge cavity, yes, I think it might help.
  10. I used to have to do the same defrosting with my Norcold 3way. It just took longer, with the bigger freezer. 🙂 I liked mine, too, til it didn't work.
  11. That little plastic tray under the freezer is a drip try. There is no condensate tube (at least not in mine.) It should be checked every day or two, and dumped. Defrosting is required in mine every week to 20 days, depending on humidity, and how many times a day the door is opened. I don't find defrosting to be a huge pain. I do it the day before grocery shopping. Turn off fridge. Empty contents into a cooler. Cover cooler, and shove it down the aisle. I have an old Tupperware "bread saver" that I full with warm/hottish water. Stick it in the freezer. Put the veggie bin up on the top shelf, put a towel on the shelf below. Depending on ice buildup, maybe replace water in the Tupperware once or twice. A microwave towel to wipe interior a few times, a dump of the veggie bin, and usually in 15 to 20 minutes, max, my fridge is ready to load. 45 in the veggie bin is actually good for many veggies. I got rid of the glass shelf. I have wire shelves everywhere. Don't hang too much heavy stuff on the door. Check seals. Dollar bill test. I routinely push in on the bottom frer corner when I close the door. A tight seal every time means less air intrusion, less frost buildup. I have a mental map of fridge contents. My husband is not allowed to open the door, leave it hanging open, and search. I'd rather get it for him. (Same at home.)
  12. @rich.dev, I've wondered the same, as you see above. Our danfoss/secop fridge was a retrofit. We installed extra insulation on sides and top of the cavity, still leaving lots of air circulation space, plus a drawer beneath. Our fridge sits on epoxy tabbed in 2x 3's, above a drawer. We also have air infiltration on the sides. I can, and do , open the drawer many times a day, and could leave it ajar a bit for a ton of extra air, if necessary. I "think" if the standard ollie installed requires more lower air, there's usually an access from beneath the drawers. Open it up, and see how/if it helps. The fridge cavity used to be sealed, for three ways needs. N9 longer necessary. We did seal the outside vents, to prevent intrusion from dust/dirt/ mud daubers, etc.
  13. Glad you like it. Good job on the insulation. I'm sure it's helpful. I probably would have used stainless vents, to be the same as ours. I do love our air fryers, at home. Mini convection oven, without the he whole downstairs heat.
  14. In our retrofit install of the tf130, we sealed both vents. (We had both.) We added insulation to the vents, and the sides of the cavity, still leaving an airgap around the fridge. Made sure we had more than 24 square inches of venting, to the interior. No more screening necessary to keep mud daubers out. We've never had an overtemp issue in ours. Normally run the fridge on 5 or so. But, we don't camp in 95 or 100+ degree weather, either. I leave that to younger, more heat tolerant folks. We do keep plenty of cold sink foods/beverages in the fridge. All fridges seem to work better when loaded, vs empty/lightly loaded. As someone else suggested, all the cold comes from the tiny freezer. I think the temp sensor is within the wall of the freezer, as well. There are some air slots at the back. Maybe move your fan from center to left, and try to draw more cool air from the freezer? You could also have a faulty thermostat. Isotherm sells a kit which includes a sensor in the fridge cavity, as well. Many boater use it. I think Overland installed it for his, maybe. I'll see what I find. The other suggestions of shading the fridge side are good. Wondering if you have a true 24 square inches of interior venting?
  15. @jd1923, the op reports that he has an isotherm/dc danfoss compressor fridge. 2016s like yours had 3ways as original equipment. Have ypu upgraded yours? @DunnYet, we've never used a fan in our truckfridge (similar to your isotherm. Same interior, same compressor.) Try without it. Your isotherm vents to the interior of the trailer, not exterior. Is anything blocking interior venting? Any ice buildup in the shoebox freezer?
  16. Your blue sky will likely show nothing til it senses it's hit 100 per cent. It works on algorithms, and reset is 100 per cent. Call or email Ryan at Blue Sky if you continue to have problems. He's truly a wizard. Totally knowledgeable. Great guy.
  17. It really depends on the fabric content and instructions. Do you know what fabric was used on your cushions? And the care instructions? Even if the fabric is machine washable, I wouldn't dry it. Hang dry. Maybe air fluff. You can damage not only the fabric and stitching, but the zippers too, in the dryer. Getting cushions back into the covers isn't ever fun, but a sheet of plastic, or a dry cleaning bag, can help. Makes the foam more "slippery", then you pull the plastic out, after you work the cover up like a tight sock, a little at a time, keeping seams straight.
  18. Awesome. Enjoy the travels!
  19. As original install, whatever you send to the battery, from the portable panels, thru the fused zamp port, needs to be regulated power (has to go thru an onboard controller on the panel, or a separate controller. ) Check the zamp port to make sure previous owner didn't change polarity. Zamp sets up their polarity opposite os standard sae connector. If it is original, you will need a) a polarity reversing adaptor, and b) a second controller for the portable that doesn't have one, or, ability to connect /daisy chain to the panel that has an onboard controller.
  20. Odo- ban. Our dollar tree has a little tiny bottle. A little goes a long way.
  21. Ask renogy if you can "daisy chain" the two suitcase solar, so that both run through the onboard controller of the first, closest to the trailer. You need an onboard controller to plug into the zamp solar port. And, you'll need an adapter, as zamp wires "backwards polarity" of typical sae connectors, though it looks the same.
  22. So, in 2021 you had Zamp solar 2 x 170 panels. You can pull up the manuals in Oliver University. You probably have a zamp controller. Please feel free to ask questions. My trailer is older, and configured differently, but plenty of folks here with 2021 to help. What batteries do you have?
  23. I hope you are doing ok. I saw the news on the collapse of one house, near the Rapidan dam. Please stay safe, and keep us posted.
  24. Safe travels to your mom, as well. Hope she does well on that long journey. God bless her.
  25. Found this. So, yes, lfp/lifepo4
