  1. Permethrin spray used according to the label has been effective for me for the last 30 years. I’m in the field every week of the year 1 to 4 days. This means spraying your clothing and boots before you put them on and letting them dry. I’m diligent in the spring (starting Feb 1st) and summer and I think there is enough residual to carry it to the fall. For skin application, I’ve had good results from picaridin sprays. I doubt it’s any better for you than deet, just less researched! As Sherry mentioned, a single bite does not mean you have one of the many diseases they carry, but ALWAYS look EVERYWHERE after being in their environment. I believe most of the diseases have much higher transmission rates after 24 hours.
  2. I have the Decked drawer system and love it. It is waterproof and I never am crawling/reaching for anything in the bed. Everything stays locked up and organized. For larger items, I have a Yakima rack where I can cable lock the generator on top of the Decked drawers, carry kayaks and, 2 - 4 extra gallons of gas in Rotopax cans.
  3. And then check again next week because there will be something else new🙂
  4. I can’t speak to your questions with any authority as my EII is being built now. However, we have been going through the decision making process for over 12 years, anticipating 2020 as the year for us to purchase. We’ve toured multiple factories, visited at least 40 dealerships and researched specs for everything from A’s, C’s and B’s. We were constantly stopping and going back over our criteria and finally focused on 3 class C models. While at a dealership last fall, my wife randomly walked into an AS. Once again we shifted our thought process to add the possibility of a towable. Just before we went to the Tampa RV show in January, I convinced my wife to visit the Oliver factory (38 miles from home). Walking in one and getting the factory tour was life changing. When we got to Tampa, we literally walked into 4 RVs and found ourselves comparing everything to the Oliver then left and went to the beach! One of the things we were most excited about with Oliver was NOT having to go through a dealer or anything like we experienced at the Tampa show. Through the years of dealerships, test drives and being pursued by sales people, I cannot tell you the name of one sales person we worked with nor remember anyone that built trust with us to feel confident about our major purchase. So, I recommend using the resources at Oliver to find one to tour in your area. If you can swing it, get to the factory and see the whole process. In lieu of a visit, use YouTube. After all these years, this was a huge paradigm shift for us but, we have never looked back or had buyers remorse and are completely comfortable with our choice.
  5. We switched slots to assure parts availability for the new lithium package. Our new build date is 9/21 with a pickup of 11/11. We had to turn in our final options 2 or 3 weeks ago. I get the feeling we are within the last three or so ‘20 models. Everything after that will be ‘21s.
  6. Thanks for that insight. My wife an I were literally Just talking about these and I logged in to find a picture . . . I think for the price I can do better!
  7. https://www.google.com/search?q=dirt+dauber&rlz=1C9BKJA_enUS707US708&oq=dirt+dob&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l5.7171j0j7&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 Well, feel good that your spider populations are under control! They will pack the water discharge hole on my outward motor at least twice a summer.
  8. Welcome, we have a Nov 11 date so if you are staying at Davy Crockett, we may see you there. And, an advanced welcome to Tennessee!
  9. Nary a rattle from mine. Very tight and well made.
  10. I have the stow and tow and like it! But, as mentioned, I tow (Well, I WILL tow) 3 different trailers with 3 different heights. So, the hitch comes in handy. Works great! However, I will say the long hitch has bottomed out several times.
  11. PS- whatever you get, make some pictures, post it and most certainly, I will learn something!
  12. I think the answer is simply “Which one can you mod more?”😃
  13. In this vein, are the nuts and bolts in the Oliver metric or SAE?
  14. I was looking through some older posts and just saw this. To be clear, that is correct for items less than $1600. Technically, the TN state tax is 7% for any purchase. If the item Is over $1600, local and additional taxes are capped at $80. So generally, residents just pay 7% on cars, boats, airplanes and RVs!
  15. Yeah, after I posted that I realized I didn’t figure that in. Exuberance subsided enough for logic to finally kick in!
  16. Yes. My cost now has the 2k inverter and as I understand it, the lithium pkg has the 3k.
  17. We have a contract but are still waiting on our build date. We already have the EZ start, solar pkg, 2 extra FLA batts, and a 2k inverter. All of that comes to $4850 that we will be spending. Or, we can add lithium for an extra $4150. However, buying in 2020, we get a 26% tax credit on the system- $8600 (taking out the ez start) X 26% = $2236. That makes my over and above costs $1900 for: less or no maintenance, lower weights, longer life, faster charging. I’ll take that deal* *if my wife agrees and if this math still works and if I have not missed some important figure
  18. I use an app called Pocket. I can save any content from any device and organize it by date or tags. So, when I see a forum topic that I I want to save, I simply add it to Pocket and add tags. It also can accumulate and sort podcasts but I don’t use it for that. DMc
  19. So on a couple of recent trips to the factory, all the valve stem caps I saw were green. I asked if the tires were filled with nitrogen but I didn’t get a clear answer (that I heard). I remember it being something like “this is how they come”. I’m adding that question to my growing list of things to ask at our September pick up. DMc
  20. Our build date is late July and they told us it should be an option by then. Pickup date is mid Sept. DMc
  21. For anyone looking for a Ford F150 TV, Hertz has declared bankruptcy and has a fair amount of those in stock at good prices. https://www.hertzcarsales.com/ Their interface is not very easy to use but make sure you have your location and distance to cover most of the nation and especially the south. DMc
  22. Hello folks! We are soon to be owners with a delivery date around the end of Sept. The day after we ordered, I tossed 13 years of RV brochures and digital PDFs! For each brand we have followed, I noticed they all had branded merchandise such as shirts, hats, hoodies. I found some discussion on the forums about this. But, is anything available? Thanks, DMc
