  1. You're a true trekkie. For some reason that little tic has always stuck in my mind.
  2. Yes, I believe that he's making one for someone right now. I don't know why Oliver got rid of the charcoal grey counters - from posts here, it seemed like they were by far the most popular color at the time.
  3. I'll give you a hint, it's on the side, not the front. And yeah, it's a very subtle, obscure reference. But now I've given it away for sure.
  4. Nah. But I see it, and now I'll have to change the logo. 😂
  5. I have a thing for classic sci fi design, so for me the Ollie’s white moulded fiberglass interior was like a childhood fantasy come true. In fact I almost named the trailer Alpha Moonbase at one point, and I would have put a red Enterprise stripe down the side except it looked too much like the Scamp graphics. (I did keep a subtle Star Trek reference in the final graphics, but I doubt anyone would ever catch it.) The great thing about the white interior is that it’s a blank canvas, and so easily changed if you ever get tired of your decor. Maybe one day I’ll redo everything like this -
  6. I’d say just don’t stand close to the edge, but Angel’s Landing is, in fact, all edge. 😛
  7. Well I definitely understand. When we went up several years ago, we left camp when it was still dark to try to beat the heat and crowds. We did beat the heat, but I was surprised at the number of people that early - we often have places like that to ourselves if we're early birds. I hate that they have to do it, but it is what it is, and a lottery is definitely more fair than just opening up slots since those seem to get taken suspiciously fast. It sucks for our type of travel, since we rarely plan out much more than our first few stops. I think they could cut down the crowds significantly by just having a ranger posted at the trailhead, stopping people who don't have proper shoes, carrying their dogs, etc. We saw it all. One woman in heels, believe it or not.
  8. Not difficult at all, at least for the kitchen, and yes they stick well. Several owners have added them and I definitely wasn’t the first. The bathroom is a bit harder since the wall has a double curve and you have to find a happy medium as to what you want to be straight. I think the brand I bought was Smart Tiles, but there seem to be a lot of new options out there now.
  9. I think she got an award for that performance. Probably glared at the judges until they gave it to her. I'll stick with her music.
  10. Thank you kindly. I wanted to do a different backsplash that had a bit of color, but my wife wanted to keep it all grey tones. I just sent Foy an email, though, so perhaps I'll be able to warm up the interior a bit next year. And then I can say that we need to change the backsplash to tie together the wood and the grey. I'm sneaky like that.
  11. Working on it. Getting the fire to flicker with the music is the really hard part.
  12. Probably, but a proper gentleman should have a tufted chair to sit upon. I wonder if they make one in leather.
  13. Mike, is that half & half arrangement an option or just the way Ram does it? On my truck, CarPlay takes over the whole screen, and the Ford software is shown as an app that I can tap and it takes me back out to Ford's software. I don't think that I have an option to have both at once, which I have to say would be nice, since it can be a pain to exit CarPlay just to do one thing and then drill back in to whatever app I was using.
  14. I use CarPlay in my truck. If I understand what you're asking, I don't think that carplaying from the iPhone vs iPad would make any difference at all to what you see on your vehicle's screen. The display isn't mirrored, but reconfigured for your car. On my truck, I see much more map than on the phone itself. That's not to say that you'll get all the info and options that you have on your iPad, but the same would likely be true even if carplaying from that iPad. All that would depend of course on how the developer designed the app, what they decide to show you, etc.
  15. Here's a comfy looking one. https://www.backcountry.com/stoic-sequoias-club-large-chair
  16. Few know that Snowball is known as the Lonely Disco in the right circles (that circle consisting of my wife and me, but we're accepting membership applications). And I know that there's not a single Grace Jones fan on the forum apart from me, but I've posted before about how much I like Sonos gear as a replacement for Oliver's speakers, and thought some of you might like to hear what they sound like. Or it, this is actually just the Sonos Move playing, which you can see on the ground at the first of the video. Helps that the playa is basically a 10 mile wide soundboard, but that sort of makes up for this being recorded through an iPhone microphone.
  17. In addition to the suggestions above, you might think about something to break up the ceiling. We added these acoustical panels, which provide a bit of relief to the endless fiberglass and of course deaden the sound a little as well -
  18. Both of those mods look more difficult than they really are. I think a novice could do them both with a little patience and care, plus the right tools. But please ask Oliver to make them for you. One day, they'll get tired of telling people no. If you're really going to do some cooking, then you'll want that sink, too. That one is definitely in the advanced category though.
  19. Yes indeed - And you might also take a look as some of what Foy Sperring offers, since he can do extended versions of the microwave and pantry countertops, as well as a larger dinette table - Finally, a Lagun table will give you a great deal of extra space, and can be raised to counter height. The top shown here is difficult/impossible to find anymore, but I understand that Foy may be able to make something similar for you -
  20. My guess is that some of those options are actually lighter - Truma and compost toilet. I might think the same about the solar package with lithiums, since the weight savings of the batteries probably more than makes up for the panels. So the biggest hit is probably the larger propane tanks (and you can leave one empty if desired). The weight of the other options is minimal. In other words, like Mike, I wouldn’t worry much about it.
  21. Search for fiberglass casting tape. It’s a medical product, but it’s a great repair item to have around. Cut a piece the length you need, wet it, and the impregnated resin will activate. Then just fold it over the edge of what you want covered and it should stick.
  22. First I’ve heard of it, but it’s interesting.
  23. Looks like we have the first test of towing something like an Ollie with an electric truck - a Rivian towing a 6500 lb trailer across country. Unfortunately, I think the best you can say is that it’s possible. With the trailer, the truck’s range was about 100 miles, meaning they had to make 26 stops to charge, each one adding about an hour to their trip. I’d go insane.
  24. Never did, sorry. But I’d think that you could find an adapter that would allow you to use the existing cables.
  25. You have to be a little careful with a towel on the bar but for the most part, yes. The toilet won’t get wet directly, but enough steam will condense on it to make it wet unless you open the window and run the fan while you shower.
