  1. FWIW, it has to be pretty quiet in our trailer to hear our Isotherm. It's never anything we think about. The same goes for the National Luna in the truck - you'd have to be sitting with the engine off to hear it.
  2. There's certainly room to snake the hose under the floor and up, but only if you remove the black tank like I did.
  3. That's good to know. The one I have on my spare is the LT vs the XLT. Looking at them online, I think the only difference is the added sidewall protection. I think I'd like that, but I can't find anyone online selling them. šŸ˜’
  4. It will open to a trickle, which is actually fine for the most part.
  5. Have you had a chance to try them in the rain yet, and if so, what did you think? I've got the Discoverer AT3 on my spare and that was what I was thinking I'd replace the rest of them with.
  6. I thought you put Cooper all terrains on your trailer, or was that someone else? Or, is that what Oliver is using now?
  7. This is how mine works. Oliver did the original install, but I had to redo the cabinet connections for another project. Anyway, it looks like there's either a different through-wall fitting, or Oliver used one each side and drilled through to attach them with some (very long) bolts.
  8. Lol, we do the same. Will have to look into carrying a few blocks of foam with us.
  9. Nope. If water is getting into the tank from the city water port, it has to get through either the valve or the pump. That, or your ports are mislabelled.
  10. Get the anti-freeze kit. Not only will it help when traveling through cold weather, but it comes with a plug for the exhaust that can serve double duty keeping insects out during storage.
  11. I agree with you 80%. Though it does sound like you had the wrong fridge. I think that compressor fridges have a marginal value over 3-ways, but only if your particular needs fall in the areas where they excel. And, only if you're willing to up your electrical storage and solar to match their consumption, because they will definitely pull some power - and it's a power drain that you can't just cut off if you're low on battery. It would be nice if Oliver could offer a compressor fridge as an option for those who want them. So, get one if you want one, but don't if you don't. IMO, for the same expense and work, adding a nice compressor fridge/freezer in your tow vehicle will add far more value, and will really impact the way you travel.
  12. I should probably clarify that I wouldnā€™t recommend towing your Ollie at 90 mph. But I did look down once while not paying attention and saw that number - and then slowed down. My experience though is that the trailer tows very well at any legal speed limit.
  13. At least one of my panels was installed with 3M tape. I know because itā€™s coming loose and I keep meaning to repair it. But it was an extra panel that Oliver installed for me so I canā€™t say for sure that it wasnā€™t attached differently than the others.
  14. Iā€™ve heard that the Elite II tows well at 90 without an Anderson and with a truck that people say was not meant for towing. Donā€™t remember where from - possibly the passenger seat from someone reminding me that we were towing.
  15. On my trailer, the switch does turn off the Truma. The reason being that itā€™s fun to spend an hour searching through manuals trying to figure out why your water heater doesnā€™t work after you inadvertently flipped the switch.
  16. Hereā€™s another possibility - https://www.mscdirect.com/industrialtools/push-button-quick-release-pin.html https://monroeengineering.com/products-quick-release-pins.php
  17. I have this part bookmarked from another thread, but looking at it, this isnā€™t the right size (mine measure ā…œā€ dia x 3ā€ usable length). But it might be a good starting point for you - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002GPHTCO/?coliid=I2Y5QJ660U7Z3K&colid=31WMH4OIBNQFP&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it If you do find the right part, please post a link; I need to order a few myself. Edit - this looks like a pretty good source: https://www.mcmaster.com/stainless-steel-quick-release-hitch-pins/ The full stainless ones arenā€™t at all cheap, but hopefully youā€™d only have to buy them once.
  18. Yes, they work. Hereā€™s an older topic about them: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/3999-rv-snappad-on-oliver/?tab=comments#comment-38965
  19. Thatā€™s the same one I have and Iā€™ll second the recommendation.
  20. You can also pull the handle out slightly and tape a thumbtack to it. Then close the door and the tack will puncture the insulation to mark where to drill.
  21. We decided on the street side awning after seeing an unfortunate camper in the Desert View Campground at the Grand Canyon, who was in a pull through site that went off the left side of the road. Thatā€™s a wonderful campground, but itā€™s tight, and the guyā€™s only option to set up his camp under his awning was to pretty much camp in the street, which since it was raining, he did. In more typical campsites or dispersed camping, particularly in the desert, the extra awning allows us to orient the trailer for the view or to suit the site, rather than having to face it south for the sun. On a few lazy days staying at camp, weā€™ve done as you suggested and sort of followed the shade around the trailer as the sunlight changed. But we get the most use out of it as a sun shade and rain shield for the street side windows. I will almost always roll out that awning one or two feet whenever we camp, and that allows us to keep the street side windows open without worrying about rain. You should be able to add poles and guy lines to the powered awnings. I know at least one person has done that with little modification. Youā€™d have to search for it but it was discussed here and I think with some photos. Pretty sure it was the Girard awning. I modified my carefree awning to have the option for stronger poles. Mine is manual but that wouldnā€™t have made a difference. Just drilled three holes in the bottom of the casing to hold the pin of some REI awning poles, and I attach ratchet straps to the awning arms. You also should be able to add a sunshade attachment to the awning, which can act as a hold down as well as a wind break.
  22. Quiet, safe, inexpensive, simple to operate, and great for the environment. Itā€™s the perfect camper. When I was a kid Iā€™d always see the Popular Mechanics magazines on the shelf and wonder why our family didnā€™t have a subscription. Then Iā€™d thumb through one and answer that question.
  23. Thereā€™s definitely room to extend it under the dinette seat, and more than double itā€™s size; but the question then would be how to replace it if ever needed. The current one can be replaced easily by removing the raised part of the floor - perhaps a slightly larger tank could be angled in.
  24. Probably from an old post here. I collected a lot of photos back when we were thinking about getting an Ollie and deciding colors and stuff.
