  1. John, Towed Ollie out west with our 4WD Tundra without ever needing to use 4WD once. With the Tundra and our other 2WD TVs put us well beyond 100,000 miles towing trailers in eastern & western US without the need of 4WD. We don't take Ollie off pavement like some of the folks here except for campgrounds with good roads and watch weather forecast closely when travelling, like I do when flying. We also camp with Ollie in lower elevations campgrounds out west. We have seen snow in August in Montana at high elevations while the camper was at a lower elevation campground. During the winter we camp with Ollie during good weather in the SE. Took this shot when towing Ollie to Hohenwald during January in western NC on I40 during good weather after a snow storm. The roads were great and camping was good in TN without snow on the ground.
  2. Toyota dealer contacted me yesterday letting me know our 2022 Tundra's ETA to the dealership changed from 12/24 to 12/28. Looks like actually accepting the new Tundra 3.5LTT SR5 2WD could be the new year, will see. Can't wait to tow Ollie on some January camping trips after meeting Tundra operator's manual recommended break-in. Initially will be testing in SE states and not going out west until later in the year. Still optimistic about MPG while towing since I don't use cruise control while towing, get in the slow truck lane up & down mountains, keep speeds up to 60MPH during testing, and allow the rig to slow slightly up grades and slightly faster down grades. Always tow Ollie with empty tanks except for full 6 gallon hot water heater. While towing Ollie home during 2016 with a 2013 4.0L V6 2WD Frontier from Missouri to North Carolina got over 15MPG towing as stated above. Got about 12MPG towing Ollie with the 5.7L Tundra 4X4. Even tested the 5.7L Tundra towing our ready to camp 4950 pound LE2 Ollie with non ethanol 87 fuel in NC/TN getting 13MPG. Looking forward to Ollie's new TV and will post reports including actual CAT scale results, on our experience with the 2022 3.5L 2WD Tundra towing Ollie.
  3. Bill, please forgive me for straying off topic. Here's an old photo of our past 2016 5.7L Tundra Double Cab tailgate down with a 1/2 lift ball mount with 2" ball. We do not use a WDH with our LE2's ready to camp weight under 5,000lbs with empty tanks except for full 6 gallon hot water heater and tongue weight under 500lbs. Most LE2s are well over 5,000lbs ready to camp. I installed an electronic sway control on Ollie to meet my interpretation of Tundra's operators manual requirement for a trailer sway device for trailers over 2,000lbs. The Tundra handled this trailer great! Here's our white on white exterior shot taken one January: Here's our new White Ollie shades:
  4. Ollie's white interior sold us on the Oliver first time we stepped in one! You mentioned the 1794 Tundra in another thread, I still like the white interior of the 1794 Tundra, even though we're buying a SR5!
  5. The 2022 Ford F-250 gas 7.3L engine uses 87 octane & 6.2L engine uses 87/E85 gasoline. Found the above in the specification section of the following link: https://www.ford.com/trucks/super-duty/models/f250-xlt/ Hope that's helpful.
  6. 2022 Tundra fuel requirements 87 or higher, I’m attending a weekend class and don’t have time right now to show the document
  7. 32.2 gallons should give our new Tundra a 740 mile range (no reserve) not towing, highway @ 23MPG. Will have to wait for Ollie towing mileage to see what the range will be, hoping for 540 mile range (no reserve) if we can get 17MPG towing, will see. Our fuel economy with the 5.7L Tundra towing Ollie without cruise control on and staying in the truck (slow) lane up & down mountains was 12MPG with top speed around 60MPH. Here's standard fuel tank sizes for 2022 Tundras with the SR5 having optional 32.2 gallon tank. Fuel Capacity 22.5 gal. (SR, SR5) 32.2 gal. Available on SR5, Standard on Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro

Here's Toyota's Tundra trim, package, standard, options, and specification link for the 2022 Tundra. https://toyota-cms-media.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/2022_Toyota_Tundra_Product_Information_FINAL.pdf Our SR5 that's coming in late December has the "SR5 Convenience Package" that includes the 32.2 gallon tank.
  10. If you don't want an indicator you can use a Victron Bluetooth Smart Shunt and just use your SmartPhone to monitor battery: https://www.victronenergy.com/battery-monitors/smart-battery-shunt#pd-nav-video When the Lithium battery & shunt/indicator were installed, sealed the battery compartment door using a 1 1/8" hole saw to cut out 1" OD plastic plugs (Walmart white kitchen cutting board) to fill the existing ventilation holes in the battery compartment door. Did not want to mount these plugs permanently, sealed with clear RTV silicone for easy removal.
  11. Good point, Mounted our non-Bluetooth shunt/indicator in the battery box. If it's Bluetooth capable, this installation could also work in the battery box if there's room and exterior door vents are plugged/sealed when using lithium batteries:
  12. Wanderers, Really like your flat bed truck TV. Been thinking about installing solar panels on our next TV. Our LE2 does not have factory panels installed and use a 100W solar suitcase for now. Also don't like drilling holes in Ollie if I can work around it.
  13. We purchased Ollie used, I'm going to have to increase insured hull value for the second time due to Ollie's increasing value!!!!!!!!!
  14. We did not have the opportunity to attend an Eagles concert, but we got to see Fleetwood Mac in concert in the 70s.
  15. King, Congrats on your beautiful Ollie!
  16. Listening to music on YouTube tonight, and listened to some Eagles. Reminded me of a camping trip with Ollie a few years ago when we camped close to Winslow Arizona and attended a car show on main street:
  17. A new tow vehicle!
  18. Listening to different performers of Nessun Dorma lately. Really Like Paul Potts: Saw Father Ray Kelly on "Britain's Got Talent" and found on YouTube how he likes to sing at weddings, too:
  19. Never heard Kacey before, great sound!
  20. We saw him in concert in the 70s, great show!

  22. Here's a side view of our Suburban Hot water heater valve with curbside & water heater on left and furnace inlet vent upper right:
  23. We had water spots that normal waxing would not remove. Called Meguiar's and they recommended using Meguiar's #67 compound first then using Meguiar's Flagship wax, the combination worked great removing water spots and putting a great finish on Ollie! We used both during a two day "workout".
  24. Agree! The following Victron alternator test video (posted previously by another member here) damaged the first alternator tested at 1500RPM. Victron probably had a shorter & larger diameter charging cable, compared to my Tow Vehicles increased length & reduced diameter charging wire to the 7 pin connector. After seeing the following Victron video, I called BattleBorn for advice for my single 100AH BB battery installation. Have not had charging issues with our TV alternator or discharging TV battery with the ignition switched 7 pin on/off charge wire to Ollie. I would call the battery manufacturer for installation advice for larger battery banks.
  25. BattleBorn told me not to worry about TV alternator damage when connected to TV with 7 pin plug with Ollie's single 100AH BB lithium. They said because of charge cable's small diameter and distance from TV to battery, would not see very high amperage charge with TV connected. So far with BattleBorn battery at 75% charge while connected to TV with engine idling have not seen more than 3.5 amps of charge. Our TV has 180 amp alternator and with ignition turned off, the 12V power supply to Ollie is also switched off.
