  1. Off topic, extra pieces of fiberglass have many uses! Gave a guy in Florida a template to cut out these fiberglass flat side panels for a street tracker style motorcycle. :)
  2. Steve, Beautiful work!!!!!!! Agree, I'm hesitant to cut holes in the fine Ollie surfaces, but your work looks like the factory did the work!
  3. Mount Mitchell SP NC between Asheville NC and Boone NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is tent only campground there, but still a nice place to visit with a restaurant close to the summit. When it's hot in the lower elevations, great place to cool off. Took these shots today:
  4. Congrats on your new Ollie!!!!!! Really like the rig and colors!!!!!
  5. Since Wondering about additional battery location, too! Were you running AC without additional batteries? Thanks,
  6. That's a big difference. Did you replace the water pump? Will watch the complete video and check out his Blog! Posted yesterday about our new to us Oliver on a thread he started on the Air Forum. Plan to install the LP hatch after seeing it on Hardrock's Ollie.
  7. Here's my theory. Oliver cropped & reversed the photo to get the text in the upper LH side of the photo. Found the original non reversed photo on OTT site in the Legacy Elite II photos. 4th Photo down from top, on left side, 1st page: http://olivertraveltrailers.com/photo-galleries/exterior-photos/
  8. Faucet experiment: Ollie faucet on stream mode: Spray Mode: Nozzle experiment. Tried the Ollie faucet nozzle on the sink faucet in my garage where greasy paws are normally washed. Please forgive the dirty sink! Regular sink faucet nozzle installed: Ollie faucet nozzle in stream setting: Ollie faucet nozzle in spray setting: Looks like any faucet nozzle can be experimented with on the Ollie.
  9. Will take some faucet/thread/nozzle shots in a few minutes and post. Debbie & I are working on the Ollie today. We purchased our Ollie used, so did not know about the stream to spray mode. No faucet changes for now, will test the spray shower mode on the next trip. :) Have only used our faucet in the stream mode, so far. Thanks for the stream/spray mode info and video!
  10. That's the shower/faucet nozzle threaded directly directly to the Ollie shower/faucet handle. Took about 30 seconds to remove. Assuming the "Oxygenics showerspa handheld for RVs" assembly with hose fittings are standard, since the Ollie has a standard shower/faucet nozzle size.
  11. Probably will work, like Stan said. We may want to upgrade our shower head, too. Please let us know how the project goes.
  12. Looks like the shower head ID thread on the Ollie is .84" or 1/2" NPT thread. 1/2NPT is the standard thread for shower heads: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/shower-head-thread-size-84705.html
  13. Thanks for the wise old sayings. Debbie & I were hiking in NC when I happened to look back. There was a snake with red, yellow, and black bands where she was going to step. Stopped her in her tracks. Remembered the old saying: "Red touches Yellow kills a fellow". Coral Snake This snake had red bands touching black bands. "Red touches Black, friend of Jack". We saw the non poisonous Kingsnake. Here's an informative link since the old snake sayings do not always hold true, depends on where you're hiking: https://snakebuddies.net/2010/09/03/red-and-yellow-kills-a-fellow-your-identification-guide-to-tri-color-snakes/
  14. John, Appreciate the info! My plan is to pack the bearings by hand when everything is taken apart. One guy I used to work with used an Alemite needle with grease gun to lube bearings. Buzzy, Tommy can answer your question next week! Saw two completed Elite II campers at Oliver on 5/27. One has a green color scheme and the other has a blue scheme. Could one of those be yours?
  15. Here's the Dexter SN: Additional axle information on a axle tag:
  16. After seeing Randy's post about having NVR Lube Bearings on his 2015 Ollie, started hoping we had the same bearings. Called Dexter, gave them the Dexter SN and our Ollie does not have NVR Lubes bearings :( . Guessing bearing/axle changes were made during 2015. Asked if I could upgrade to NVR Lube bearings and Dexter said I would have to install new axles to make that upgrade. When I upgrade to the EZ Flex on our Ollie, will lube the bearings, inspect brakes, and replace seals.
  17. Wow, Nice job! Our previous camper was all electric 12V/110V with Coleman 13.5K Polar Mach AC. Purchased a Yamaha EF2400iSHC and never needed to run it more than 30 minutes at a time when away from shore power. The Yamaha would start the 13.5K AC we had. Never thought a 13.5K AC would run just off of RV batteries for short periods. Hats off to everyone involved in the project!!!!!
  18. Thanks, Had a leak in the dinette window. After the issue was corrected, they put the Ollie in the rain booth and checked for leaks, none found. Also rained here and on the way home with no leaks. One of the Service Techs told me when we purchased the Oliver we became part of the Oliver family! The folks at Oliver are a great group of folks and work hard to satisfy the customer!
  19. Finished a 940 mile round trip yesterday with another 470 mile towing day through the TN/NC mountains on I40. Experimented with different speeds checking fuel economy. Got 250 miles out of one tank using 15.7 gallons out of a 21.1 gallon tank. Speeds around 55 to 60MPH yielding 15.9MPG on that tank. Tested one tank at about 60 to 65MPH and it yielded 14.6MPG. On the previous leg of the trip the fuel economy was 15.1MPG @ about 62 to 63MPH. Overall round trip fuel economy was 15.1MPG. The Timbren rear suspension enhancements reduced rear end sag and bounce. Downside of this modification while on rough roads, ride is stiff while towing. We have towed the Ollie with the Fronty about 2000 miles so far.
  20. Bill, During our plant tour last month, I did not notice the road named after Mr. Oliver and the Safe Step Sign inside the fenced in area across from the parking areas during our first visit. It was important for us learning about Oliver's involvement with other fiberglass products, eventually manufacturing fine travel trailers built there along with other fiberglass products today. Appreciate seeing the continuous improvements made to new campers ready for pick up in the lot next to the Safe Step Sign, too. Happy Oliver Camper, here!!!!!
  21. Took the Ollie in last last Friday to have some work done. Tommy, Dusten, and Justin had the Ollie ready by lunch time on the same day. Great folks to work with and appreciate the great care they give to Oliver owners. Like always, took a few photos:
  22. We stayed at Fall Hollow last Thursday and Friday nights while Oliver did some work on our Ollie. Enjoyed visiting with Noel and Sheri at Fall Hollow. Spent some time on the Natchez Trace:
  23. Initially I did not think the Frontier would be adequate towing the Elite II in the eastern US, until I tried it. Towed the Elite II 470 miles yesterday in the NC & TN mountains without any issues. Something else surprised me, found towing at 62 to 63MPH, overdrive off, (2200RPM) and allowing to slow to 55MPH on slight grades and speed going up to 65MPH down hill averaged 15MPG yesterday. Have towed on 6% & 7% grades in 3rd gear, 2500RPM @ about 40MPH so far. Going down 8% grades try not to go over 35 to 40MPH using a combination rig & engine braking. I'm reluctant to say I would try towing out west using the Frontier for now.
