A problem-free trip at last!

Recommended Posts

We just got back from a 9-day, 2300 mile trip to OTT for warranty service and back. It was the first trip we've had with our new trailer that didn't uncover some new problem that needed to be fixed. Eggcelsior performed as expected! A great relief.

It was also nice to see a bunch of other Ollie owners down in Hohenwald, either getting service or taking delivery. (Shout out to Merl and Heather!)

Now, on to using our trailer instead of fixing it! (Well, almost. The city water connection has loosened up a bit. I'll need to figure out how to snug that up before our next trip, but that shouldn't be a big deal.)

Our 2023 season has started!

There will be trips where something falls off, loosens up, breaks off, wears out, etc.  With some camping experience these events will seem routine, you’ll pull out a tool and make an adjustment, reattach something, tighten something else, etc, etc.

On the city water connection, if I remember it takes a half inch Allen wrench that inserts into the fixture to tighten it up.  It’s a larger Allen wrench than comes in sets, I think I got mine on Amazon for less that $10.

Happy 2023 camping!  Mike

Like THIS

After I purchased mine I have not had the need to use it even once - nice insurance though.

You are experienced campers, with previous trailers, so you know the drill

I know you had the dexter recall. Don't remember what else.

Enjoy the 2023 season! Looking forward to your photos.

A 5/16" bolt has a head that is 1/2". Clamp it up in a pair of vice grips and use the bolt head to tighten the water connection. Personally, I bought the hex drives. I've used them on other peoples trailers.

For my education, where is this fastener located on the city water that needs the long 1/2" hex head wrench?

Look into your fresh and city water connectors (where the water goes in).  You’ll see it’s 1/2” square.  You just stick your Allen wrench in there and tighten (righty tighty).

Just posted a trip report and photos on our blog. A short, but good, trip.

A lot more camping to come this summer and we're retiring at the end of the year so, hopefully, we're just warming up!
