We saw our first and only Ollie in the wild (so to speak) when our family members Mitch and Debbie brought their Oliver "Dickens" home several years ago. after 3.5 months on the road and the Colorado mountain hiking trails we are heading home…. pulling out of Alvarado campground USFS near Westcliffe, Colorado San Isabel National Forest Sangre De Cristo Wilderness we hiked mountain trails all over Colorado and hit the pickleball court in Gunnison our longest hike was 10.5 miles, 2600 ft elevation gain

The back of the shower box is exposed in my 2018. The hose at the shower head was leaking. I replaced the entire shower hose and it was easily assessable to unscrew the old hose and screw on the new one.

We often stop at Panther Creek. Nice campground. If anyone is looking for Harvest Hosts or campgrounds along I-81, we have some favorites.

This fall we will be attending the rally in AL, but coming from Niagara Falls. So, kind of similar? We are choosing a pretty "super-highway-friendly" route this time: Niagara->Watkins Glen-> New River Gorge-> Panther Creek SP-> Lake Guntersville. With multi-night stops along the way. It is easier to purchase and install the entire preassembled unit. https://itcshopnow.com/products/exterior-shower Our shower failed in the same way, the same plastic part shown above where the shower hose connects. It must be from pulling on the shower hose. Drilling and replacing the rivets is the easy part. Do it, don't worry. They are aluminum rivets so each head drilled off in 5 seconds. If you go this route, you can loosen and reconnect each plumbing fitting sitting on a crate outdoors vs. kneeling on the cabin floor and reaching inside the cramped basement. After the old shower assembly is removed, drill the rivets through. Then screw a sheet metal screw in and turn the rivet butt, push in, give it a tap if needed, and grab it from the backside. Connect the water lines by holding pliers on the copper ring of the PEX so it doesn't twist. Make these good hand tight or gentle with a pliers. Then when the entire assembly is still hanging exterior to the Oliver as pictured, turn on the water pump, blead the hot and cold lines and test for leaks. Then push in place and rivet the four corners. I had rivets in my shop that were 3/16" and about 3/4" long. OEM might be 7/32" or 6mm but mine held it nicely in place. UPS arrived with the part today and in an hour or so, job done and we have a brand new outdoor shower with leftover parts saved, like a new shower head replaced just last year. 😎

I recommend you ask Google AI. I believe the Victron Orion XS 12/12-50A DC/DC charger can be programmed to reduce output (and therefore strain on the alternator) at idle, if necessary. That feature may allow you to install one connected to your 200A alternator.

I-95 north of roughly Richmond, VA can be horrible, especially Washington DC through Boston. We try to avoid it like the plague. I'd take I-81 north then head east on I-90, but be aware of the tolls. (Also, FYI, in NY and CT, only passenger cars are allowed on Parkways like the Taconic State and Merritt.) We live in CT and try to stay off I-95, even in our car. I-95 north of Boston isn't too bad. There's an old joke about a tourist asking a Mainer for directions that ends with, "well you can't get thar from heah..."

Love I-81, through the Shenandoah Valley, along the Blue Ridge, etc. You did not mention this Interstate but could be on your route. When we lived in northern VA and traveled often to see parents in Florida, we often traveled I-81 south to I-77. The conventional thinking was I-95 is direct but one of the worst, most dangerous interstates in the country, IMHO. I also try to map as many non-Interstates routes, as much as possible. For example, we drive from Prescott AZ to anywhere in Texas and I only get on I-17 for 10 miles in AZ, because there's no way around it. The next 1000 miles all on US and state highways. Most everybody else takes I-10 or I-40, boring. Tow less per day, see the country on the secondary roads, stop anywhere in the Oliver overnight! 😎

Looking at this trip later in August using the following interstates. Traveling north on I-10 to I-65 to I-85 to I-40 to I-85 to I-95. Has anyone have any thoughts (positive or negative) on using these interstates? Thanks

We always have a friend with an EV stop by our campsite needing a charge! 🤣 Everything listed in KWh, but I'm missing whether this is a 12V system or other. Why the gas generator and gas tank if a generator can produce power from the trailer just rolling? NOT all-electric as advertised! Gas tank in a trailer not safe. 60-gal FRESH is very good, 30-gal BLACK also very good, 30-gal GREY. "What are they thinking!" There goes their 7+ days OFF-GRID rating. 8 FT wide and 9,900 LBS GVWR, 8,900 dry weight, better leave those kayaks and e-bikes at home! 1000 LBS available goes quickly filling the fridge and pantry, clothes, bath and cleaning supplies, drinking water and beverages, etc. Love our 7 FT width and the Oliver has a lot more available weight capacity at 7K GVWR and many of us have an upgraded 10K suspension. Made in China! We prefer Tennessee! 😎

As I was preparing a write-up I found yours, which is very well done. I don't have much to add. That said, be grateful you could not find a Trailer Vision enclosure for an Anderson SB175/SB120 connector. As you planned to do, I relied on previous posts that included the Trailer Vision products. The spring-loaded, hinged cover on the one I installed on the truck side broke even before I got a change to test it out! Your "homemade" aluminum bracket looks almost OEM, and the Trekboxx Panel Mount with the Anderson Environmental Boot not only looks good, but should be much more durable than the Trailer Vision product.

Guide along has been with us on every trip and we've covered a lot of their tours. Just always have to remember to turn it on as we get closer to the tour routes. We've used the NPS apps as well and found both enjoyable.

“All” electric with a integrated gasoline generator and a 20 gal onboard gasoline tank? Not on my radar as I prefer simple but I am sure it will appeal to some who are looking for a ICE travel appliance which can be pulled by their EV. The Midwest Oliver Owners Rally will take place next May 19th through the 23rd. The venue will be the Duluth Indian Point Camground. We have 20 spots held for the rally and I believe about 14 or 15 have already been reserved. There are a ton of things to do in the area, great food and drink, lots of hiking and biking, and even ship watching as they go in and out of the port. I have a 2024 Nissan Titan XD. The stock alternator is a high output 200 amp unit. I am thinking I would be good to go for a DC/DC install... which is happening in November. Does that sound right? Thanks, Scotty
