  1. Past hour
  2. It looks like an Oliver to me! Not much different. Is that wallpaper on the bath/closet door wall?
  3. In a different view, the flexible reading lights are different, with the switch on the base.
  4. Haha! Wishful thinking. 😄 typo corrected!
  5. For those members who don’t do FB, here is recent pic of a few 26 YM interior updates from the Oliver FB page. I am seeing the fiber-granite sinks, a vent over the closet door where the pervious speaker use to be mounted. A new Bluetooth speaker, induction cook top, a texture wet bath wall, under cabinet switch lights, a new bath door, and the white belly band. 🇺🇸
  6. @Steve Morris sorry to hear about your issues. Knock on wood I haven't had any issues to date. On my Winnie Minnie I purchased the external antenna and attached it on top of the air conditioner shroud. You might try that. But mine works fine on the Ollie without it.
  7. Today
  8. Thanks Mike! After seeing your setup at Lake Guntersville, I ordered and installed the same unit, although I used the adaptor kit you had recommended and simply tucked the wires away under the camera. Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as yours. I had frequent loss of signal, and terrible signal delay. To the point that a car would sometimes be beside me before it showed up as behind me on the display. But this only happened at highway speeds. It worked great when stationary or backing into a campsite. I thought it might be engine interference, so I put the truck in low gear at low speeds to get the RPMs up, but it still worked great then, too. Haloview Customer Service was useless in resolvingtheproblem. Looking at reviews online, this is a common complaint. So I'm now back to the original Furrion camera. It's not great, but it at least works for me. If anyone wants a Haloview MC7108 for a truck camper or backup camera for a car that didn't come with one, I'll sell you mine for $100 plus shipping. Cost new in June was $200.
  9. @Steve Morris, sorry to hear about your issues. Knock on wood I haven't had any issues to date and just posted my install to this forum. On my Winnie Minnie I purchased the external antenna and attached it on top of the air conditioner shroud. You might try that. But mine works fine on the Ollie without it.
  10. **** Read LAST paragraph FIRST. I understand to many this could be a ZZZZZZZZZ and you get sleepy and have a great night snooze. I have dreams of a Fairy coming by and fixes it while I am unconscious. Now I am looking UNDER the large Black Xantrex Pro Watt SW is a: Green board with exposed resistors. a black chip, and 'blue & black wires' attached to a 'glob of clear material'. These two wires (black and green) are soldered onto it and probably secured with this. Looks delicate to me. No touching allowed, and I can not use my tongue to test for... power. Kind of test. This 'glob' with a black and blue wire attached to what appears to be a small green electronic board #710S5667 Made in China. I hung upside down with a large magnify glass, and small flash light, to read what I could... before nearly Passing Out from my fat head concentrating limited oxygen diminished blood to what is left of my Cerebral Cortex doing this act of heroism. Blue and Black Wire attached to this cloudy clear glob onto the chip board attached at the top. I did not even know it existed, until using a flash light. The wires appear to be attached, but could easily be torn off with all of these shielded wiring in this area. Anyone think I am barking up the tree at a raccoon.... or... is this the problem? If I wrote what I was actually thinking... this Thread would be closed and erased. But I am an advanced Neanderthal. I am married to a smart Human Bean... that whips me into civil discourse. Thank You for ANY ideas what this is. Sure looks suspicious. At this point... I have run out of WIRES to investigate. Common Sense tells me this could be the Rosetta Stone. If not, a truly Dead End... no Fairy to help after this. (Got a second opinion with Wife, upside down, and noticed that it is attached to a long metal boxy 'container'. Even with the Black and Blue wires... Our combined detective work: Level Meter for one of the tanks: 'GREY' water tank. Even with the wire colors... I am back where I started. )
  11. We were in Ouray last fall and were heading to Great sand dunes after that so we had the same decision to make. We had driven down to Silverton without the trailer and that was exciting enough. Woke up the day of departure and it was raining so 550 was a no go for us. Headed north back up through Montrose then 50 towards Gunnison. If there is even the slightest chance of rain I would avoid it.
  12. One of the first things that I did after I bought my Winnie Minnie back in 2020 was to install a rear view camera. After doing some research, I chose the Haloview MC7108 Wireless RV Camera with 7'' Monitor. I was not disappointed. It had excellent resolution and the image on the screen had brilliant color. Fast forward a few years and I bought the Oliver. Although nearly everything about the Oliver was an upgrade, IMHO the Furrion rear view camera was certainly not. First, the image on the tiny 4” monitor was so small that I could hardly make out any detail. Even worse, the image brightness was so poor, if I had my sunglasses on I couldn’t see anything but a blank screen (yes, I tried adjusting the brightness and contrast). So I finally scrapped the infuriating Furrion and replaced it with another Haloview MC7108. I am very happy with the replacement. Below are the details of my installation. In making modifications to the Oliver, my number one rule is to try to avoid drilling any additional holes in the fiberglass. With that in mind, I also purchased the Yinettech Camera Bracket Adapter Kit for Furrion. The steel adapter plate is made to screw onto the Furrion “shark fin”. The kit also included a Pig Tail Plug Adapter since the plug on the Furrion camera is not the same type as the one on the Haloview. It turns out that the Haloview camera is much heavier than the Furrion. So I was concerned that the plastic “shark fin” might not hold up over time, especially considering my lengthy travels and the state of some of our roads. Also, the Haloview camera comes with a rather long cable which won’t fit inside the “shark fin”. Rather than take a chance on using the “shark fin”, cut the cable and make new connections, I chose to mount the camera on top of a Carlon PVC Type 2FSE electrical box. This provided plenty of room for the long Haloview cable and the Yinettech plug adapter. So the wiring was essentially just plug and play. When I removed the “shark fin” gasket from the Ollie I noticed that the area underneath it had been filled with caulk and this was raised above the fiberglass. I decided not to disturb the caulk around the opening for the cable since it was in good condition. Instead, I cut an opening into the bottom of the PVC box to accommodate the raised area and thereby allow the box to sit flat on the fiberglass. I cut off the mounting feet on the box and using the Furrion gasket as a template, drilled holes to match the existing ones in the fiberglass. Since the PVC box was grey, I sanded down the exterior, wiped it down with acetone and then applied several coats of Krylon Fusion All-In-One Gloss White spray paint and primer. This paint is formulated to bond well to plastics like PVC. A weatherproof cover plate was treated similarly and painted. Coincidentally, the rubber gasket that comes with the camera also fits nicely inside the conduit opening. Adding a PVC conduit adapter holds the gasket firmly in place. In order to keep water out, I overlapped butyl tape all around the bottom edges of the PVC box, covering the screw holes. I then secured the box to the fiberglass using the original screws that were used with the “shark fin”. Next, I used Geocel ProFlex RV white sealant around the exterior edges of the box, the top cover plate and the bracket supporting the camera. Screw heads on the cover plate were sealed with the GeoCel and screw heads on the camera bracket were sealed with black Dicor. Finally, I used two cable ties to form a drip loop on the cable to keep water out and used a gasket cutter to cut a hole in a rubber stopper to make an additional seal for the cable. The Haloview kit comes with two nice options for mounting the monitor on the dash. One is a U-shaped bracket that can be secured to the dash with screws. I chose the other which is the center mount bracket. It is simply attached to the dash with 3M tape but is very secure. I am extremely happy with the addition of my new rear view camera system. I think the resolution and color of the Haloview system are exceptional. There are also a lot of extra features on the Haloview system that you will not find on the Furrion.
  13. Using the color illustration of the Legacy Elite II Trailer Harness Electrical... the only item up for discussion seems to be the 'Ground Bar'. Is that the bar under the seat with a dozen or so wires? None are labeled. Lots of Yellow Wires. Is this the source for the Brake Grounding attachment? The Brakes have Power when the Break Away Switch is engaged. They lock up immediately. We spin each side and those passed the Rewire... just finished. Someone may have some advice. The connections all seem tight and secure. It there another location once the power leaves the Ground Bar to Brakes? 13 Yellow wires & 4 White wires... from a quick glance. All screws have a wire. One has no screw, but looks threaded on the Right Side of the bar. There are 3 bundles? with the plastic around the wire(s) on the Right side. I did not look if they had one or more wires... any suggestions? The wiring diagram is missing all of this.
  14. The On Board Jacks are for those who walk inside the Oliver when parked, and are sensitive to the movement once parked and inside. NOT FOR SUPPORTING WEIGHT OF THE OLVIER. We have never used them. We are not... a Prince and Princess. Myself, an OLD guy, with attitude,... and lots of previous experience doing dumb stuff when a teenager.. This is an Oliver Elite II with four wheels. The Oliver with one axle WOULD BE A DIFFERENT and you would be 100% correct. Just not this time. JACK POINT decal behind back axle tires. Lifts one or both wheels off the Earth. The hydraulic Jack was used to get the tire lifted, remove the lug nuts and remove the wheel and tire for easier access, and secure this point. Nice hydraulic jack, as well. Use it on the Airstream, as well, and... survived. I do not eat Twinkie's, either as they have too much sugar. There is a STICKER that says to USE THIS LOCATION TO LIFT THE TIRE OFF THE GROUND. There were Three Wheels still attached and a hydraulic jack with lumber stabilizing it all. When having to remove a flat tire, the same process would be used. The Hydraulic Jack makes it simple and stable. Would do the same with the F350 tires... No magic here to be confused with this. Recall I use to do OSHA inspections. Unless I have become senile... I should not be allowed to drive. The Front Axle Tires were still mounted onto the Axle. And chocked.... both sides. No need to remove them. The major wire issue all come together on the REAR Axle and through the center of the axle. ********** Added: Mike at Oliver Inc. agreed with my Wife with my process. The Neanderthal is correct and a Human Bean is Wrong. Added: I would appreciate HELP in finding the Ground or wire location from the 7 pin plug creating this short to the brakes. Most likely wires attached to the street side of the Oliver. This may have been a Factory Issue and not something that wore out or broke from use. This may have existed on DAY ONE... and I am Old and inherited this situation. Trust me. My Wife would 'kick my winky' IF I was doing something really Dumb. She is a Human Bean. I learn by making mistakes... but not stupid ones. 🙂 (I EDIT AFTER I GET THE IDEA DOWN ON THE SCREEN. I THINK FASTER THAN I CAN TYPE... SYNDROME.)
  15. Glad you are making progress on the brake issue. Also glad you were not injured in doing so. As shown in your picture, you chose not to use your on-board jacks as safety fail safes. Yes they can get in the way, but having them down can save your life. GJ
  16. JD thanks for the generous offer. We Boondock every Spring for years in the Reserve, New Mexico Area, hunting Agates. Driven through Prescott a few times... a Boom Town with a Forest. No Tech. Watch the numerous videos on the Internet. Great source of getting an.... education. Many Good, some Not. Prescott is in a wonderful location, as the Main Street is like entering a mountain town in Colorado or Wyoming. Everyone lives in the surrounding forests with some having that south view of unlimited views. We actually considered looking for a home there, but Boulder City is in an area much like Prescott, with major cities on the west side of the mountains from us. Good pullout once south of town and down the mountain grade. Remembered that... I rechecked the Extension Cord wire and it is more in the 16 gauge wire once stripped. No tech around here. I resort to 'do it yourself' if nothing else is available. Local service had three months booked. Yikes... lots of Travel Trailer problems for those owners. This should not happen to anyone with an Oliver. Rather blemishes my attitude that something that should be permanent from the Factory... should not have a problem. You pay up front for. the quality and Brake Wiring is the... issue? I had a multimeter years ago. Can describe the carton... looked for it... and not to be found. It would have been 40 years old. Great for Jukebox wiring from the 24 button select simple models looking for wire issues. We may be the only Oliver in Nevada. Nothing to compare with. Hundreds of Airstreams. We stopped at 2019 Models of Airstream and Oliver Elite II as the Propane, Solar, Electricity power options are excellent. The Truma hot water tank was junk and unrepairable, after purchasing the Oliver. Too many wires and coils. I like simple systems. Our Airstream's Dometic six gallon hot water was operating on the Airstream Dealer's Lot... and has not been used after the 2019 checking everything out before purchase. Trusted the seller... my mistake. For anyone buying used... DO NOT PURCHASE USED, UNLESS YOU TEST OUT EVERYTHING. Trusting the Seller may not be the best way to go. Beautiful trailer and I will have this all worked out. Will eventually sell, with the Truma not installed, as I removed the trashed by some service business. I had the Recall Notice, but I did not... qualify, as I pulled it apart and it was NOT REPAIRABLE. Had the uncrimped burner issue. I was not even offered the 'improved burner' as I tried to repair it,.. myself. I wander. Love the Oliver Elite II and our 27 foot Airstream, both are perfect 2019's for Boondocking. Both have a purpose for Boondocking locations. Narrow and clearance is excellent on Olivers. Advice at a RV Service is.... ZERO. No Oliver around Nevada to compare... with. Geologists... experience risks whenever out in the... bush. But the trailer should not be the... problem. Sorry for the diatribe... Ahhhh.
  17. We haven’t needed our router yet. With the dish on the box on the tongue we get a strong signal. I’ve now got it on the truck tonneau cover, we’re under a lot of trees (Lake Tahoe, CA). Even with a narrow view of the sky it’s working well. My sophisticated mount. Sky view. There’s a bunch of satellites racing through that blue patch.
  18. That's why I changed to a POE cable to the Mini, as several others here have done. Here in eastern US, trees are everywhere, and I might need to get the Mini 50-150 feet away to connect. But instead of Starlink's router, I've connected it to my Peplink cellular router, so the cell connection can kick in whenever there's a Starlink dropout.
  19. We just replaced ours, 2 years before its expiration date, because of false alarms. It appears to have become hypersensitive and was alarming because of errant exhaust fumes coming from the Norcold fridge. 2 problems there. I sealed the large gap at the top of the lower fridge access panel with metal tape (discussed in another thread) and then I replaced the detector with a new one. I did the same as @John Dorrer, using Wago connectors to make the next replacement easier.
  20. Sounds right. Just ordered a Starlink Router for the Mini this morning, after placing the Mini on standby mode at home, it works OK but getting too far away from the dish in the house slows down service even more. The Router should help that situation at home and camping.
  21. I already had. Nothing there. Maybe because I’ve never used pause since activating my account.
  22. For us, the advantage of double pane isn't temperature control, it's noise reduction. They really do help when the guy with the huge Bluetooth speaker sets up next to you. But the bigger problem for me is that those Lippert windows really don't move much air. We never really felt a breeze in our old trailer. That said, they're better in the rain. For functionality, I'd like to have just one swing out window for use on rainy days. I know some of the other fiberglass trailers do that with the rear window.
  23. https://res.cloudinary.com/lci-cloudinary/image/upload/v1734451736/Design Team/Sell Sheets/Lippert_-_Sell_Sheet_-_3000_Series_Windows_OEM_-_2023002334-WEB.pdf Link for somewhat better description of these windows. I have mixed feelings about them myself. Not sure double pane is that big of a deal after years of use. Disappointed they only open 3 inches. The valance thing looks dorky. Always thought the chrome stuff looked tacky so an improvement with the white trim piece. Love the no maintenance of the windows though. The existing windows on the Oliver have always been the bane of ownership to me. Poorly designed and out of date.
  24. According to the Lippert sales brochure those windows are "Available with single-glazed and dual-glazed panels." I hope Oliver is choosing double pane. Also, as I recall, there was a hack involving drilling out a rivet that would allow those windows to open further.
  25. Just did a speed test on standby mode. Uploaded this photo with Starlink on Standby mode.
