Finally finished the build of the home base "Oliver Elite II" docking station. As a one person construction crew, it took me a-while, I started back in August, with just a simple 12 x 25 cover, and decided midstream - to add the enclosed portions, with a full bathroom, and a utility room for honey and produce processing, and whatever else needs doing. There are also two locations, fore and aft, for dumping the waste water. I'll run power and water to the structure later - once the temps return to a comfortable level, Jeesh 97 degrees in October - what?? Here are a few pcs,

My wife and i love the quality of the Oliver product. Our only concern is whether there's enough livable space for 4 living creatures. Would really appreciate some experienced Olly-owner opinions. The dogs (60 lbs goldendoodles) are non-shedding and calm and sleep anywhere they please.

The Oliver Travel Trailer Community is saddened to announce that our founder, Jim Oliver, passed away last night. As many of you know, Jim and his late brother John, were responsible for creating the original Legacy travel trailers which many of you own and love. Jim passed the baton to his children in 2014 who have created the Legacy Elite II which even more of you own and love. His wit, wisdom, and guidance will be deeply missed. Please feel free to add your thoughts, condolences, and memories of Jim to this thread.

I picked up my Oliver Elite II in Aug 2019. I noticed yesterday that the Transfer Switch case was a bit loose. It turns out two of the plastic molded tabs that are used for mounting the case had broken, so the case would not be secure for travel. I alerted Oliver Service, and contacted Progressive Dynamics. They immediately agreed to send me an exchange switch unit...and I'll ship back the defective unit. Here's a picture showing where the tabs broke. I don't know why/how those tabs broke, but when I put in the new switch, I'm considering also using some 3M 4100 to hold the switch case down to the mounting board...(along the edge so I can cut it with a knife if needed.)

Yes, You can dump from either end, When completed, you can run off shore power, and water hook up. ( there is a code approved septic system just behind the non window wall) - I plummed one room for a full bath, the other larger room has a center floor drain.

FYI with a Stone Stomper the front of the trailer and also the back of the TV remains VERY clean, dry and chip free, even on dusty roads or highway trips at 60 mph in torrential rain. It is astonishing. I seldom need to use the rear wiper during rainy highway trips. All the crud and chaos (water spray, rocks, tar, road debris) stays down below the A frame. But you definitely need rubber flaps down there to catch and deflect downwards the rocks before they pepper the frame and lower curve of the hull, and those create a lot of drag. As an alternative, you could install vortex generators on the back of your Ollie to dump the dirty airflow further away from your bikes. I haven't tried them but they are on my To Do List, someday. ... http://www.airtab.com/application-rv.htm .... The Ollie hull is pretty streamlined but the junk on the roof is pretty horrible for smooth airflow. Even with the rounded back corners, the rear gets filthy. You should see a slight improvement in towing mpgs too. Airtabs are ineffective below about 35 mph, so dirt roads will not be any better. John Davies Spokane WA

John, It's probably too much work needed to get the pieces apart, when all I need to do is purchase a short 2" receiver and put a piece of thin hard rubber between the two. I did take a pic of what it looks like, upon inspection they used 3 tubes to make the 1 1/4" receiver, I guess there shop needs something to do at times. Here is how it looks, I see no welds used, but it's a very tight fit for sure. One last note, we will be at Oliver on the 7th of October to get the water heater working again on LP gas, it's not really out of our way as we will be camping in Tennessee that week, so I can pick Jason's mind with several questions on things that are not so much common knowledge, I'm making a list. trainman

My question, so your in the outer - back of beyond - Utah, and you get just enough cell signal to find out your freezer has stopped working, what to do, other than fret. I unplug everything but the fridge and the freezer, if the power goes out or, whatever, too bad for me - we would only loose some frozen produce - stuff we grew, try to take the expensive stuff with us, or use it all before leaving. But I understand the concern. well sort of. RB

Some owners have had good luck with Ambient Weather products. They make a confusing array of products, but at $43, the WS-0265 seems reasonable. It comes with one remote sensor that your could place in the freezer and you can connect up to seven more sensors.

I actually found a local graphic guy who specializes in "cut vinyl." I have seen a bunch of cut vinyl graphics here on Whidbey Island. The WA State parks system uses them for all of their signs, and every ICSO patrol car has that style of graphic, i.e., no transparent back layer. Cut vinyl uses the vehicle paint color as the background. Thanks to all. I learned a heap about "graphics!"
