  1. @jd1923 It hasn’t happened to me but it has happened to at least 3 people in the following thread https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/3447-left-black-tank-clean-out-hose-on/

  2. That also lets you actually use the last 7 gallons of fresh water...

  3. Cross-over of water from the black tank into the gray tank through the common vent absolutely can and has occurred. More than one owner has attached a black tank flush hose, turned it on and forgotten about it. When the black tank fills water rises up the black vent and spills over into the gray vent. If the shower drain valve is closed the water comes up through the shower drain. If the shower drain valve is open the gray tank fills and then the water comes up through the shower drain.

  4. Yes, as Mike explained and as John wrote nicely in two short sentences. Perhaps you did not see bubbles in the gray waste since there was enough gray water to break down the soap, kill the bubbles, which did not occur in your black waste. For a fact, black and gray waste are two independent systems, except for the venting of sewer gases as @Townesw illustrated above. However, the vents are at a height, a couple of feet taller, where the cross-over of liquids simply could not occur. Gray water would fill the shower floor and overflow into the cabin well before the height of these vents could be reached.

  5. Both sinks and shower drain are plumbed to the gray tank. The toilet drains into the black tank only.

  6. If your batteries are very low your Xantrex is likely attempting to apply full power to charge your batteries thereby exceeding the power available from your shore power source. It may have worked just fine previously if your batteries had a better state of charge, requiring less demand on your source, but with really low state of charge more demand is required of the source. Decrease or turn off your Zantrex’s max charge current setting or plug into a higher power source. In addition, as others have said, make sure your source is wired correctly and test for faults.

  7. In case anyone wants a nice little guide on how to do these adjustments with the Girard awning. Not our exact model but still works the same.

  8. Yes, our new garage has only GFCI protected outlets. We are able to plug our Oliver into them during storage by changing the Xantrex settings (specifically #28 to 15 or less) and it does not trip the GFCI. I think the OP has a bad adapter or faulty GFCI. He also needs to manage his loads in the Oliver before plugging into that 15A circuit via the Xantrex settings.

  9. You should have these testers to check the shore power before you plug into your trailer. You have been asked where your trying to plug in, home, campground, 30amp, 120, 120 with GFCI. You should never plug your trailer anywhere without testing the shore power.

  10. Can't wait to see your finished installation and get feedback on it's capability, given your Central Florida location. It must be getting warm down there! I have yet to see enough heat, and of course no humidity down here, to truly test it's cooling efficiency and Ah usage running on batteries! 😎 Will you run your A/C on inverter or shore power only? Here's my final touch. We have a half-dozen remotes in bins mounted front of the nightstand drawer. With the new Chill Cube, I decided to wall-mount two important remotes (mounted with 3M VHB tape only). These are now in a great central location which Chris can also reach from bed when needed!

  11. Share and Enjoy !Shares Growing up in a family that spent time camping and pursuing outdoor activities, one thing was for sure, our first night at camp dinner. One of the memorable times we made this dinner as a family was the first night at Yellowstone National Park. Camping food is some of my favorite things. Maybe it is because after hiking, exploring, and playing in the wilderness all day, the hunger I had made the food taste even better. For my family, we would write a menu while camping and strategically pack and cook food to last the week. The beginning of the trip would be more perishable foods, followed later in the week with more shelf-stable products. For the first night, though, it would be something simple and quick to cook. With a few simple ingredients, everyone would be happy and full by the time dinner was over. Along with this Trailside Bite, I invited my mother to help me cook and share stories from when she was younger and how her experiences in the outdoors began. I grew up with three siblings; camping was a big part of our vacations. My mom will share stories from our camping trips and be great company as we cook together. On the Menu This family-inspired recipe is our simple Sausage and Potato skillet. Ingredients Yukon Gold Potatoes, diced2Yellow Onion, diced½Bell Pepper, diced1Kielbasa Sausage, sliced1/2Salt & PepperdashChili Powder½ tsp.Butter2 TBSP This Trailside Bite has just a couple of ingredients that will only need to be diced and cooked in a sautéed pan. Add all the ingredients to a pan and place it on medium-high heat. I like to start it on higher heat to melt the better, which will help things not stick to the pan while cooking. Once the butter is melted, reduce heat to medium heat and stir occasionally. Add a splash of water over the pan to steam the potatoes to reduce the cooking time. Check after a few minutes; if water is reduced, feel free to add more to continue the cooking process. To check if the potatoes are cooked, press the diced potato; it should cut easily yet still be firm. Uncover the pan and stir until the remaining water evaporates to brown ingredients. This should let the onions and peppers caramelize and crisp the sausage and potatoes. Once cooked through, serve with a salad or warm rolls and butter. Share this meal with your favorite people to make it a great start to your travels. Some meals become a crowd favorite; this is sure to be on our list. 12. Seems the problem was that the gray tank was full but for others: On older trailers (mine for example, a 2020) you might have a manual gray tank valve. Pulled out is open allowing the gray tank to vent as water from kitchen sink flows in. If it is closed (pushed in) then water could back up into the shower drain if you run a lot of water in the sink. Also, if you leave the valve open while driving down the road, then gray water could slosh up onto the floor from the shower drain.

  13. Mounting the Chill Cube this morning and finding a slight interference with the “bump” that supported the Dometic. Anybody know if this can be removed and how difficult it is to take off? If not, I can modify the mounting feet on the new unit to allow it to sit down. Hate to cut up a brand new ac if I don’t have to!
