Just wanted to bump this to let you guys know that Oliver has given us the thumbs up on the 640 watt panel arrangement above. I can't speak for them as to whether this will become a standard option, but maybe if things go smoothly on ours, they'll be able to offer a range of packages up to 640 watts. Personally, I think being able to offer that sort of choice would be a big competitive advantage for them over Airstream. I haven't had a chance to speak with Jason about it yet, but apparently it will require a different charge controller from their standard and a few other bits and pieces swapped out from Zamp to Furrion.3 points

Yes, the Keymaster status of Mountainborn, the Grand-Poobaah of these forums, were removed by mistake during some recent forum tweekings. The error was recognized and his Keymaster permissions have been restored. All hail Grand-Poobaah and Keymaster Mountainborn!3 points

A good app to use for boondocking is "ultimate us public campgrounds" or the icon says UC. If you type in UC public, it's the first thing that comes up. We use it all the time. It's in the app store on your phone.3 points

Could not find the previous thread on this topic, so starting a new one. Some were having issues with the upper doors popping open while underway, and at the time I wasn't having any issues with mine. Until the last trip. One of the hinges came completely undone. You can see from the picture that there is one small screw holding each hinge to the cabinet door. The screw does not grip the door with very many threads at all. If it comes loose, the door will come out of adjustment and will either not close properly, or will close and pop open. In my case, the screw came completely out and the door was hanging by the single screw on the other hinge. I think a simple fix for this would be for Oliver to apply Loctite on the screw when they at doing the final adjustment to the doors during the install. For those awaiting there new delivery, it might be a worthwhile ask of Jason to follow up on.2 points

There is a port free, then you could run a wire down to the tool box and put a plug-in port there inside the box. With the rubber gasket, I don't think it will be an issue closing the door on the smaller wires of a Solar Suitcase style. I have an extension for mine but so far, I don't see a reason for any extra being that our is fully charged usually by 3pm on clowdy, rainy days. We haven't had one day in the last 2 months that the Solar didn't take full care of itself... And I have been watching it to the point of thinking that the 2 battery standard system would be more then enough for me alone, but with Karen's cooking in the instapot and then her CPAP that runs all night, it's nice to know that we have more then enough power. I took this pic at 5:30am yesterday just before the sun came up... This pic tells it all... No loss even after being used all night for the fan, heater, and CPAP. The key is the 4 bars on top showing full, not the battery charging indicator showing at 3, because it's not meaning 3/4, it just means that it's fully charged with no charger running. The only way to get the 4th on the left is when the blue light on the lightning bolt goes out during the day. There is a learning curve but it runs itself just fine as is.1 point

Towing @016 Oliver Elite II weighing in at 5,100 pounds - no fluid in tanks but 20 pound propane tanks full. Towing this with 2017 Ford F150 FX4 Max towing package rated at about 12,000 pounds with weight distribution hitch. Upgraded from a Tacoma primarily due to small gas tank and limits on towing were too close to maximum for my comfort in case of emergencies. Bill1 point

? The regular app has military campgrounds, is there another one? BTW you can filter with great results, for example selecting only places below 3000 feet in winter to avoid all those high altitude Rockie Mountain places, then re-enable them in Summer when the snow is gone. Cool and very user friendly. John Davies Spokane WA1 point

I spoke with a representative at Oliver today and expressed concerns about several things including the difficulties a lot of folks are experiencing with the forum. I was told that Matt (and perhaps others) are working on developing a new forum. I asked if they were planing to use new software not based on WordPress and was told that 'the goal was to make it like other forums'. I'm not sure if this means there will be new software or not. It sure would be nice to get to a standard software format that most everybody else uses. Escape, Fiberglass RV and Airstream use vBulletin® Version 3.8.8 Beta 1 Copyright ©2000 - 2017, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. The Casita Club Forum and Casita Travel Trailer Forum use Community Forum Software by IP.Board. My personal favorite is vBulletin. I really hope that this is the case because there are people that have joined and then could not get on as well as folks that have become dismayed at the difficulties and just gave up. The forum is absolutely Oliver's best and cheapest advertisement and information dissemination service. At the very least it should be user friendly and fun.1 point

The awning is nice and here it is in use. [attachment file=48355] It blocks the sun well and also allows you to see out, but nobody from seeing inside. I like it over the dinette. [attachment file=48358] [attachment file=48361] [attachment file=48364] [attachment file=48367]1 point
