Purchasing and Production have been notified. Hull #TBD has been conceived and scheduled for a Jan. 16 start date... Let the wait begin...

The literature and consensus is that this grease is the recommended grease for the Dexter EZ flex upgrade. Recommended for high and low temperatures, high pressure, heavy loads, water insoluble, and high adhesion. Sounds about what I want my Oliver to be riding on. This is one place where I won't settle for any old grease just sitting around. The stress put on dual axles systems during turns and other situations is reason enough for us to upgrade. Especially after seeing what some units look like after a few miles with worn out bushings and shackles.

Found the Dexter axle grease, the #11390 LMX "Red" Grease on line for a little more than $8 a tube plus shipping and handling. Was greatly surprised that we were able to walk into an ACE Hardware auto section and pick up a couple of tubes for under $6 each. No shipping. No handling. No waiting. How often does that happen any more?

I like the 'horse stall pad' we saw from Tractor Supply. They come in a 4' X 5' pad for $20. Cut to fit your blocks, use between blocks, on top of blocks and easy to store. About 3/4" thick. Helps take care of uneven sites. Even use a piece to kneel on when hooking up hoses and etc..

Welcome. When do you pick up? Where on the East Coast? It covers a lot of miles from Fort Kent to Key West...

We should have a completed unit a week before the Rally. We will do a shake down, hopefully the Rally (all booked) and then wander where the wind may blow. Think we will the drift towards New England. Something about the Spring there as the world reawakens from Winter...

Thinking maybe the name of the forums should change to Oliver University. We are always learning something new and sharing that knowledge with our fellow students and others. Many different subjects, all geared towards making us well rounded campers. Not sure if anyone has reached Masters status yet, that would be up to the Professors, but you know some are close. Maybe we need tests and diploma s?

Nice looking mount. If assembled by the same person that does the trailer frame a "Well Done". I looked at the frame welds at the factory and the one(s) that do them have real talent welding aluminum. Can you control the light from inside the tow vehicle? Does the cam need or appreciate the extra light? The GPS on the Outlaw is for tracking, if someone "borrows" it? Sorry about the questions, but intrigued by the unit...

I saw the ladder that Randy has. Saw him operate and store it. Was so impressed that we ordered one. It collapses so small that it fits in the back of the closet. They do offer a foam cap for the top and a bag to store it in, but we elected not to get. A shirt over he top will work if we need it. One caution: watch how you collapse it. It will pinch, but my guess only once. Like they say in here, "don't ask me how I know that".

Think this will be one of our first 'mods', when we get our unit home, put in a rectangular hatch. And, as we are not getting the faux granite and the sink is moulded in, replace the sink bowl with a SS one. I assume there is a trap under that sink, and as most they would need occasional service. We have seen many a trap need new rings or at least tightened (unless they are glued?). A rectangular hatch would give one a whole lot more range of motion in servicing the plumbing than a 4" round one. Hatches are available at any good marine store, and you have to go there to get the caulk anyway?

Kitchen wall/ splash guard pics please

The faux granite looked like an overlay to me. It is a separate piece built up for the side table. The pieces in front of the microwave and pantry cabinets are held on with Velcro and pull right off. The main counter looks like it fits in the front grove of the standard base, and my guess is that the sink, stove, and made up backslashes hold the unit on. If you have the SS sink in your counter it should be easy to cover the counter. If not, a bar sink could replace a fiberglass one... on -
I would think you might get the same pressure on both lines. Usually when you pressure a line, you have the same pressure throughout the length of a line. If you were to run a 200' air hose would the tire gauge read the same as the compressor at the hose end? What you would end up with is less volume. I would think you have a more direct flow on the cold side, and some restrictions on the hot side as the water is diverted through the heater where it is slowed somewhat to have it time to heat. Maybe a solution might be to have smaller diameter tubing placed the further down the line the flow goes. Same as is done in home plumbing. This is done so that if someone flushes in one part of the house you don't get scalded elsewhere. Just on the camper the line runs are so much shorter it would be hardly noticeable? (Just a thought-- not tested)

Thinking we might go with the "std. equipment" , and then upgrade at our leisure. There are units we like, but just want to look at to see how they mount. There are various mounts available. Wonder whether new unit "ZFD22WHDMi" tunes because it was through a satellite receiver? The remote that comes with it has no channel selector. We will let others be the brave ones. We did see the unit Jim Oliver had in his and the look is so much cleaner than the one offered...

We have not bought one yet. Anita told me two others were considering, had bought, but they had not been received yet. When they were installed she would let me know. My primary concerns were it didn't seem to have tuners, so how did it receive different channels? She tried to convince me it would. Also hoping it ties into the new radio/speakers they are now installing. From that close a distance will two inches matter? Also do you have to get a 12v DVD player. Just know I don't like the standard corner mount. Have seen a 30" installed after market. It looked great. When is your delivery date? We have a Jan 15 start date...

Thanks for a well stated reply. Guess we have to think of the good of the all, not the strange actions of a few. Guess I will turn my soap box into a table or something. Going to pick up our new unit end of April, first of May. Hopefully we are going to time it so our 'shakedown cruise' through the Fall Hollow CG is successful. This should allow us to join up with the Oliver rally on the "Trace". We have not booked yet, but wondering where to travel/stop to make it to NH in time for the next weekend. (We think all Interstates all look a like)... -

I think there is some plagiarism going on. It seems that pictures and stories posted in the forum are showing up on a Facebook site. And I don't see that the original authors are being recognized for their contributions. The pictures may not be copyrighted, but it usually considered good manners to ask to use somebody else's work. It is not allowed in public schools, private schools, government , private businesses or most places we all associate with. I enjoy reading the 108 pages of stories going back 8 years or so, but will have to restrain posting about things we learn from these and our pending new Oliver... -
We know about the "blueboy". We will use it at home after we put in our "dump station". We are going to put a wye, pipe, and threaded cap onto the line leading to the septic system. Then we will use the blue tank (we call ours the 'Stool Bus') to transport the material, as where we set our trailers are down the hill and not able to get near the tank because of trees and rocks..

Great idea about a "senior" National fishing license. A great way for states to get some well needed tourists into their state. Also most seniors are " catch and release" type anglers and wouldn't deplete any source. Maybe we need to petition our members of Congress? I know Maine sells non-resident licences that vary in length of time, but you have to find someone open to sell you one. Maybe for a few bucks you could get a stamp that would make it reciprocal in another state?

Great idea about the pump fed from the tow vehicle. A tank could be put in the back of the TV and then driven to the trailer. Then hooked to the Oliver for filling. No lifting of any sort required. Easy on the knees and back. We have made a small trailer that has a tank and pump salvaged from an old RV. We tow it with a Gator to water the garden and flowers. Was thinking at a boondocking rally it could be towed to fill anyone that might need water by a golf cart. Would just need somebody with a "Honey Wagon", to backfill the dump station...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

My feelings are also creeping in about the "passing the baton" by the company. Also seeing articles on here being "lifted" and relabeled on a Facebook page as new or by another author. Hopefully the company doesn't loose site that this might be a two way learning experience for both company and customer...

Love the old tractors, but only have two. Been reading the manual Buzzy downloaded for me. Think it is raising more question (that is a good thing) than it is answering. Like it is confusing how exactly the thermostat inter-reacts with both the fans on the furnace and AC, and is a heatpump what is confusing me? It is nice to see how to finally be able to clean and service furnaces and water heaters. Like he said it only covers his year and expect changes. Hope we are able to get ours early.

Did you have to buy a fishing license? Was curious traveling and f ishing..be nice to have a upgrade to a National Fishng licence?

Guess you could get miniature belted and take it along. How would "Milking Parlor" look on the back of an Oliver, as a name. Of course it might be taken the wrong way by some. I was thinking if I could find an old Oliver tractor grill to be mounted on the front??
