I searched and searched the Net and local brick and mortar over to find what may be one of the last tins of 3M Marine Ultra. A email to 3M reveals that this product has been discontinued and Their suggested replacement is the liquid-based 3M™ Perfect-It™ Boat Wax, 36113. As a fan of paste waxes, a liquid replacement is not great news but I will try a bottle and see.

This is a great idea if not already done. My delivery is not until this Fall but I have been adding items I am seeing as either significant or recurring in the Forum to my own checklist. Perhaps if each new owner asks the same questions about the same issues at delivery the appropriate level of focus will be made so that the issues are resolved permanently.

We are planning to keep the LP cooktop inside the camper. It will only be used to heat water for coffee, tea and hot cereal as meal cooking will be done outside. No plans on upgrading to portable induction as our current single and double burner portable electric cooktops work just fine. It is always nice to have multiple methods and fuels with which to cook. In addition to indoor propane and portable electric, we are also carrying a double burner propane stove, Weber Q series grill, wood-fired BioLite stoves and a small multi-fuel Primus stove. Having not only a plan A and B but also C, D and maybe even E gives us peace of mind that hot drinks and meals are never far away.

I have flip-flopped back and forth between regular fabric and ultrafabric now at least 5 times (final order not due for a few months yet). Will be ordering the twin with couch with standard cushions. Ultrafabric upgrade is $849 in this configuration and color palate is limited to a single color (gray). My current plan is NOT to order ultrafabric and use the standard fabric until such time as it gets damaged, worn out or I get tired of it . At that time I will have an upholstery shop recover all the cushions in ultrafabric, in a brighter color. My thinking is that I can use the standard fabric while I decide and cost to recover might even be less than or equal to $849. Heck, I may like the standard fabric and never upgrade. Has anyone else ordered the standard fabric then had a local upholstery shop recover their cushions in ultrafabric or something similar? If so, what was the cost?

I bought an extra mounting plate for my Lagun table when I ordered it. Hoping to do something like this with either a hitch mount and the lagun or might try and figure out a way to affix a mounting plate to the side of the front storage box.

Look on the bright side, lightly used, previously depreciated tow vehicles will flood the market. SOB trailers will also flood the used market. All of this should result in fewer campers on the road and more availability at campgrounds. At least this was my experience during the last round of high fuel costs (over $4/gal). As for impact to personal travel plans it will force us to do a more adequate job of routing instead of merely traveling willy-nilly like pollen in the wind. Also, use of gas apps and GoodSam fuel discount locations will become a focus.

I have not tried it yet either. Whomever tests it first should post results. I am not against spending $ to secure the tanks but if a simple solution is possible I'd rather spend the $ on campground fees or gas.

Has anyone tried this approach?

I don’t have my Oliver yet but I do have a Lagun table that I installed in my current camper. The lagun apparatus came without a top and I found a great bamboo cutting board and it simply attached to the bracket with six wood screws Your options are endless.

I use a more portable version of that scale. They are great for distribution of trailer load to achieve optimal tongue weight. I carry it in the TV

Can anyone who has a Elite II tell me if their wheels are hub-centric or lug-centric? I don’t have my trailer yet but am trying to determine if I should be concerned or not if the wheels are or are not balanced at time of delivery (assuming the tires would be balanced as hub-centric?) Thanks

I assembled my own trailer and have been using it the past two Winters to 1)see how I like the lifestyle and 2)figure out what I wanted in a trailer. Nothing like experience(s) to cement-in a decision. My Legacy Elite II will be ready later this year. This Winter is being spent finalizing decisions on options through experience(s) and finding new places across the SW to park my new Ollie in Jan and Feb022. Best wishes to you on your journey.

B&b RV in Denver used to carry them. Looked at them a year ago and they certainly have what appears to be capable suspensions and lots of clearance. The interiors were handsome and glossy and nice. What knocked them out of the running for me was lack of headroom and that they are made in China and sent to LA where the windows and doors are cut in. here is what I found on The B&B website today. Apparently they stopped selling them due to quality issues.

As others have said, once you submit your $2,500 initial deposit you lock in 2021 pricing (assuming you get a 2021 slot) so if you are serious, hurry and save yourself $5,000. Contact your sales rep and get that deposit in. No need to finalize options at this time. That will come later and based on 2021 pricing if you get your order in as a 2021

$85-$90k? My build will come in under $67k and thats with solar pro package, composting toilet, outdoor pro package, ultrafabric and several other options. I wouldnt buy the lithium from Oliver nor anything in the technology package. For your price quote of 85-90 what did you choose (or are you talking Canadian $)?

I feel your pain. Airstream was one of the trailers I was considering before I placed my order for a LEII. I am 6’6” tall and it was important for me to be able to stand upright in a new trailer so there were only a few makes and models that both appealed to me and which met that criteria. Next I wanted something that had ground clearance and double axles. Next it was important to be able to be able to take it boondocking on moderate dirt roads without damage to the undercarriage. Following was the importance of a four season hull. Oh, did I mention I live where hail is not uncommon? for my needs and many others on this forum the ollie fits well within our ways of using a travel trailer. It is a tool, nothing more. I liked the feeling of being inside the airstreams but knew that how I planned to use my trailer would end up trashing it in a few years (hail, branches, low hanging cleanouts, low ground clearance and wood floors) so I went with the Ollie. I also did not find an Airstream model that met the above criteria and was less than 24’ as measured from ball to bumper, since several of the campsites I frequent have these size limits. for me it helped that I have a trailer now that I was able to take to many of the places my new LEII will go in the future in order to learn firsthand what will work and what won’t. Have you made a list of your must haves (deal breakers) and wants in a new trailer and been able to test them out on the road, going to the places you would take either your new Airstream or Oliver? If not, maybe a “lesser” (cheaper) trailer than the Airstream or Oliver could be a relatively inexpensive first purchase and experience? as an aside, the wet bath isn’t a turnoff even with my height, as a dry bath (while nice) is not a must have above the items in my list above. A turning point for me was a visit to the sales office in TN and several hours spent inside a LEII talking to their sales manager. If you can make this happen it may serve to point you towards or away from an Oliver as your next trailer. Also suggest a factory tour of both Oliver and the Airstream plants. My delivery date is later in 2021 but have been thinking about options since placing my deposit. Here are my thoughts and decisions relative to your points above. Hoping input from another person in similar situation as you helps. 1. Awning - Choice: standard, curbside only. Rationale: If I spent a lot of time in warmer climates ( e.g. SE) I would consider standard streetside awning as well. Pro features are not worth it to me and the $ can be used better elsewhere 2. Solar - Choice: Solar Pro package. Rationale: 6V AGM batteries can run well over $250/ea and a group of four hold many more Ah that (4) 12v wet cell batteries. The additional Ah for $500 was a no brainer for me. I also have solar on my TV with a battery bank in the bed which powers my Dometic compressor fridge/freezer. Even though I plan to mostly dry camp, the additional cost of Lithium is a no-go for me 3. Truma water heater. Choice: Standard water heater. Rationale: mostly will be dry camping so on-demand is of little value to me. If I spent most of my time with Full hookups I might reconsider, but likely would still stay with tried and true, old school tank water heater. Easy maintenance and easy and less costly to replace. 4. Toilet - Choice: Composting toilet. Rationale: mostly dry camping in the boonies so can go longer before having to empty. Plus, I want to utilize the rear bumper storage area nor more than the few contaminated items relating to black water dump. 5. Countertops - Choice: Standard white counters. Rationale: I prefer the clean, white look. My plan is to replace the dinette table, nightstand top and both narrow counters with live edge hardwood at a later date. The counters will remain white. 6. Wi-Fi/cell boosters - Choice: neither chosen as options on my Elite II. Rationale: I have a hard time having them drill more holes in the top of my trailer to place technoloigy items which will be outpaced by replacement technology soon thereafter. I have a WiFi Ranger which I will mount to the rack on my TV, but likely will not use it as the cell plan I have is pretty much unlimited everything. I wish Oliver would entertain installation of compressor fridges. The fridge in my trailer will get light use as I have two dometic chest compressor fridges which sip Amps from Solar. Its a shame to take up space with the installed three-way but it will get used to store pantry items and sauces, etc. The compressor fridge option would also allow for the two vent panels and corresponding holes in the side of the trailer to be eliminated which would give a cleaner look. I asked Oliver and they said they would not entertain this option. I may end up yanking the 3-way later and installing my own Engel or other 12v compressor fridge once my chest dometics die off. Please let us know what you decide.

I live in the foothills above Boulder. There is a Elite II in Boulder and another near Bailey that I know of (likely a few more). My order is in and I will join you all in ownership in September.

At 6'6" the twins are too short for me. Not a big fan of the Standard layout as it makes the cabin feel a whole lot smaller. Wishing Oliver would make a longer version which has a few more inches in the bath area and the living area. For now, this situation is keeping me on the sidelines.
