I remember the Lukens had window awnings installed at Little House Customs. Not sure if LHC still does installation, but they sell Carefree awnings modified for the curves of fiberglass rvs.

Our 2008 Oliver doesn't owe us,a dime, after 14 seasons and many miles of use, and I'm sure we could sell it for original purchase price, if we were so inclined. (We're not.) A big factor is how much you can realistically use your trailer, if you purchase before retirement. My sister bought a lightly used rpod a few years ago, but found she and her husband didn't have time to use it. They only lost a bit on the purchase, but that included covid craze price increases, and a really good deal when she bought it. The adventures of two years were "priceless. "

Fed Up With the RV Standard. Oliver Looks Like the Answer

Northern lite builds a really nice product. -
Where are you in Iowa? That is very cool for July. One of my friends in North Central Iowa has big concerns about drought and heat.

I don't think that's silly at all. Young friends of mine had a beautiful sob camper pretty much destroyed by rodents, in a very short time. If they can't get in, they can't chew up the wiring. -
If you don't have time to do it right, I'd just tape it up with packing tape or clear duct tape, and not let it ruin my trip. Imo, it shouldn't have fallen, but I know it has. If it were me, I'd remove the entire strip, clean everything, and do it right. Pretty hard to clean and refasten, just a section, especially since its occurred at the curve. Even if you are out of warranty, I'd encourage you to open a service ticket, so that Oliver knows about the issue.

Thanks, John. I'll try that.

We have a 2008 Elite I. Not as much head height as the II. You should really see a II, if you can. I will say, the longevity you're looking for has been there for us. You just need to be sure you can be comfortable, with your height. Andrewk's solution may work for the bed. The bath may be a sit down shower. Not sure -
Their original website was really awful. And, showed a lot of sketchy character, imo. in their videos and outrageous descriptions. I wasn't able to download a lot before it disappeared, but I would never invest a nickel. Imo. I do think competition is good. Always look for advances.

I'll also mention that our ventline was 2008, so maybe not the same as those you have.
-
It stays closed. It's actually a bit more difficult to open than the original ventline. Requires two hands, at least now. That said, I don't recall a big issue with the ventline. Maybe yours has a weak latching mechanism? Typically, we drive the legal speed limit, so I don't think that's the difference...

Susan, if you had seen their original website, you wouldn't be surprised.

Ours is vintage 2008. It was originally a single strip down the middle.
-
Sometimes, the adhesive is inconsistent. I believe it come affixed to the chrome strip, like ez rv gutters. Our bath trim fell off. We replaced it with vhb tape. If I had to do it again, I'd use one strip of vhb, as opposed to the two narrow strips, as being too close to the outer edges, it leaves a tiny bit of gap. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/4315-bathroom-bellyband-trim-redo/

) 20210711_133521.mp4 So far, so good. Only a few months of use, but just as quiet as when installed. Here's a short video. You can see how close the camera was to the fan, so kind of (my) head height, standing.
-
The towel rack looks really nice. How is it fastened to the fridge door? Did you use the command type towel bar, or another brand if true stainless steel and vhb tape?
-
You might also search audi q7, as they are quite similar, mechanically, as I understand. I don't remember who has towed with the Audi, or if they were diesel, but it's another comparison point. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/search/?&q=Audi q7&search_and_or=or

That would likely be a good choice, as Oliver already has a good business relationship with Truma. The Truma German engineering is tested in eu, long before it gets here .

Slick. Could you just use a little velcro? I use velcro a lot.

I agree. Our 40 plus year old sailboat is heavy, by today's standards. But the layup has stood the test of time, and of our voyages. I, too, watch new manufacturers with interest. I'm very skeptical about this group, however, from what they've shown, and subsequently taken down, over the last few months on their website . They also "build" offshore (their billing) boats, but I've not seen even a prototype, of anything bigger than15 ft. That's not an offshore boat. It's a good day lake or intracoastal boat, imo. Even that is likely a prototype. We'll see. It's an interesting process, one used in some boats. Also, very expensive. Like I said, We'll see. There is much refinement left to be done, to make it a good trailer, imo.

The ac in the photo is dometic. The fridge is way too big. This trailer is about the size of my Elite. 48" bed, if you want a small dinette, and full time bed. I watched their videos in February, before they took them down. Interesting manufacturing , but I wouldn't be putting any money down. Pretty sure the blue trailer is their first, and only. They were making a mold in February. From a Casita.

The frame looks really low, like a boat trailer, with a bumper attached.
