If I want more ventilation, I prop the bathroom door open, open the bath window and vent, and open the main cabin vent. Leave the fantastic fan on low and auto... This actually draws a lot of air through our little trailer. Pretty tiny thief to fit thru the bath window... lol. But, you've probably already done that... Sherry

A year ago, we saw the sun come up on a huge mess left by Irma. Grateful to be safe, even though we knew we had a lit of cleanup, and no power likely for a week or more... I wish our northern friends good luck and safe travels. Leave as soon as you can, and stay safe. Florence may be uglier than Irma. Sherry

I'm resurrecting this thread because of our last two an a half week trip... We stripped everything out of the Oliver when we came home. Put everything in bins. Added back the bins. Plus clothes and toiletries before departure. I forgot one entire huge bin. The only thing I truly had to buy was a dish pan, because I prefer to wash dishes outside when I can. Not needed for the sink... a lit of duplication and unnecessary items in that forgotten bin Guess which bin I will intentionally leave home next trip. I loved the empty cupboard space.. Sherry

We've never had an lp monitor, other than lifting the tank, or running a hand down the side to try to gauge the difference in temp.. We run one tank till it's gone, switch over, and fill the empty. Luckily, the primary tank has rarely emptied in the middle of a winter temp night. After camping with our trailer for awhile, we got a feel for how much propane we used in varying weather. The ability to carry two tanks, for us, is very useful. We tend to use tractor supply and other places that charge by the pound or gallon for a fill. We don't have to wait for empty to fill a tank. For us, it's not quite like running out of gas in the truck. We always have that second lp tank... ready to go. Sherry

For your dog, please make sure to use a pure benadryl or generic. Not a cough medicine with acetaminophen or sudafedrin or ibuprofen... andi get the children's formula, so it doesn't have achohol. Many human medications are used for dogs, but some of them are toxic to them. As I recall, many of our otc pain relievers, and especially ibuprofen. I've read that some medications do truly degrade over time. I always check mom's nitroglycerin, as I was told by her cardiologist that it was useless after a year. Others, not so much. Personally, I have no problem with any expired allergy med or ibuprofen, but that's not a recommendation from me, either.... Sherry

Congratulations. We've spent some time in your area. Paul's cousin lived in Gettysburg for a long time. We camped in their driveway and explored on several occasions, with local tour guides. I love the statue of liberty in the river. Don't remember the highway number, but you would know. . Sherry

John, We used to give our cockapoo children's oral benadryl for his seizures. It did seem to help. Thanks for that idea. But, she is really little. I'll check with our vet when we get home.

Thanks, folks, I'll give the thunder shirt a try. I've seen the display in our vets office, but Liv used to be intrepid. She still doesn't know she's only nine pounds. She is only consoled by a tight grip, and closeness. Shallowgal, l will check out the herbal. Summer thunderstorm season is a regular thing in Florida, but she goes into one of her safe places, or jumps in a lap, and she's good. Here, it's way different, suddenly. She's been camping since she was a tiny pup of four months. The Oliver is her second home, as it is ours.I'm struggling to figure out the sudden change. Thanks again. Sherry

Our little dog Livvy has suddenly become terrified of thunder. She's almost four, and no fear of anything until recently. She has started to shake with every tiny rumble in the distance, and pant even being held tightly on my chest. Yesterday, we were at a neighborhood party down the mountain for a cookout, and came home to find her burrowed under the bedding and pillows. Tonight, we were home, so she is more consoled when the evening storm started. She's much worse here in the camper than at home. I've read about thunder shirts. Has anyone actually tried one with success? Any other ideas or advice? Thanks in advance from Livvy, who normally loves camping... Sherry

Sorry to hear about your problems. Which fridge do you have? We had various issues with our dometic early on, and all of them were corrected by Camping world under warranty, no charge, after we did the basic troubleshooting to rule out any operator errors. Is your fridge running at all, or just not cooling properly? Any number of us would be happy to help, if we can. Sherry

Wow, but a new bumper sticker is truly unnecessary. Our forum is our own, and not moderated by the factory, first of all. Then.. Any forum is an accumulation of participants' experience and/ or opinion. A number of people here have given their experience and opinions. Take it for wiw. Do your own research. All of us did.... We all hope you enjoy your new trailer. Not trying to be snippy. Just trying to figure out what information you want.... All we have to offer is what has worked for us... Thanks, and good luck, Just an fyi, in the sticky world, a couple dealers tried to convince us in 2007 that we could tow a midsize fifth wheel with my little Silverado 1500. We knew then and now that it would have been at the least a problem At worst, a disaster. Here, at the very least, you'll get real world experience from owners. I have a legacy 1, so I can't help, except to say, read and learn. Truth is, most of us are a bit on the senior side of the line, and will steer you to a more conservative solution... That's a really nice offer, and an area of Tennessee where we haven't spent much time. I'd like to suggest that you break apart your email with a few spaces and replace @ with at, so the bots don't pick it up for spam mail. There's a product at the dollar stores called "awesome". In a clear spray bottle, and quart refills. It's a yellow color, in the cleaning section at both dollar tree and dollar general. Walmart has a similar product, but I don't remember the name, and I sent it home with my sister yesterday as it was so successful at cleaning the mildew off her door... Very good at removing mildew. Also removes the wax layers you've built up, so use a towel beneath to keep it from running down the side.... A little softscrub with lemon or bleach on an old toothbrush can also work. Same caveat. Keep it off the gelcoat.. and your wax. Rinse well when done. Unlike John, we're in Florida and North Carolina, and no strangers to mildew..... lol ? Sherry

Some kind of bunk option, I'd agree. I think a bigger trailer needs a bigger fridge, with a separate freezer . Around 7 cubic feet. Off the floor, with a cabinet underneath for trash and whisk broom, etc. Someday, I'd really love to have an oven. We always have one in the delivery rvs, even the small 24 footers. Since we mostly camp in cool and cold weather, the heat is welcome . I don't use a microwave. I keep looking for a campervan oven option... not likely to find something to fit our little 2008. But, I can dream. Or get a portable camp unit. Sherry

For over ten years, we've used 3 m ultra marine paste wax. We use the same wax on our boats. Does well in the Florida sun. It's expensive , and a pita to use, twice a year. But it works Sherry
