  1. We had the first tankless water heater installed. Pete (wonderegg/bugeyedriver) had the first solar/pv system. (Both by Oliver, originally) . Many of us installed dc fridge, before Ollie adopted it. Composting toilet, ditto, user driven. I personally think Oliver has been very progressive in installing modern upgraded systems. Imo, sometimes too progressive, and "got ahead of their boots." Manufacturers have to weigh cost vs benefit, and warranty costs. And, to maintain rvia certification, must use materials and components that meet and have those certification credits. We, as 16 season owners, can do whatever the heck we please, and, we do....with careful study. You can, too, when you're out of warranty. I will say this. We, like many others here, weigh every major mod we do very carefully, and often consult with Oliver and/or oem supplier, like BlueSky, as in when we doubled up on solar panel wattage,, requiring upgrades. Like so many others here, we take everything very seriously, especially safety. It's our home, sometimes 5 months out of the year. We'll look forward to your reports, years from now, if you incorporate the centramatic rings. Certainly an interesting idea. I'm not just ready xmfor it.
  2. @rideandfly, I'm actually always grateful when folks honestly post the items they overlook, as we do. It's really helpful to newbies. No one is born with a complete camping "gene set." It's learn as you go. Reading manuals and watching the videos available now (like Oliver University) is great. (Even then, stuff can get overlooked, or lost in the shuffle.) You and I didn't have those as kids. Good news is, we're still alive to tell the tales. 🙂 ! when we share mistakes and overlooked items, we help others as much as when we share successes, imo.
  3. You could expand the universe of buyers, a bit, by posting there. I'm a member, though rarely interact there. Your mods, and ollie,,are well known here. It's a pristine, well cared for, well modded gem. Someone will get lucky.
  4. I've never seen that before. I would open a service ticket, imo
  5. Asking in advance for forgiveness of the thread drift... Just couldn't help myself. One of my faves from the 70s.
  6. @Skipster, everyone who drags a trailer around eventually makes a mistake (or two, or three, or a hundred) of some sort. Don't be too hard on yourself. You'll never do it again, I'm sure, and you didn't start a fire, thank goodness. Scarey mistakes like this make us all more cautious about checking and double checking...well, everything. If you shop around, a replacement suburban isn't that expensive, but getting it installed can cost $$$ You may need a new one. Is the water heater leaking anywhere else but the pressure relief valve? Try the replacement valve, first. Ps, I looked at your old posts. 2021, hull #822. Newer Ollie. If you need help updating your profile and signature, just send me a pm. Good luck.
  7. Btw, @MAX Burner. I hate to ask, as you likely know, but, do you have a neutral ground plug installed on your Honda? Every once in awhile, it's the simplest thing that is the solution.
  8. I think that makes sense. If you have a 13.5k btu I doubt eco mode would be happy.
  9. Idk. Looks interesting. But, I think I'll stick with my balance weights, for now. (St tires.) I've not seen these before, so thanks for the education. Wait and see when I need to get new tires. https://www.mortonsonthemove.com/tire-balancing-beads/
  10. So, those rings are attached to the wheel? Not beads inside the tires? On your previous trailer, were you running lt or st tires?
  11. That's awesome. First, that you found a helpful and knowledgeable person at the big box store, and second, that they actually had everything you needed. How much does the cute little washer weigh? Will you have to keep it in the truckbed?
  12. @MAX Burner, here's a link to a very old but extensive thread on the easy start and Honda 2000. It includes some great troubleshooting information, and advice from MicroAir rep, and some Ollie owners.. Maybe you'll find it helpful. I split this off to a new topic, so both of you can get relevant comments.
  13. Anyone who buys a used trailer has to think about aged gear, and, gee, what did the previous owner do, or not do, for maintenence and care. And, did they do mods with safety in mind, and a background to do them? I'd offer mine (2008) up as an example. We've done most of our own mods. Dc fridge, pulled and reinstalled windows, 400 watts solar on an elite. Installed our own replacement Houghton ac, and maxxair dome plus bath fan. Among others... We have the skills, and my retired husband was licensed. But, hey, we have probably 150k miles on our little Elite. No odometer. You'd have to trust us on that "meticulously " maintained thing (which it is, but who knows, except looking at our service log.) And, of course, our history of comments here. Most Ollie owners take good care of their trailers. A few here have purchased used trailers with less than stellar maintenance, and have had to do a lot of work. Most seem happy. As far as axles, most things can be vetted via visual inspection. And/or replaced. Mine will likely never go up for sale. Btw. But, when we're gone, if my daughter doesn't want to camp anymore, maybe. We've (daughter and I) already had this conversation. Worst thing for any vehicle, or trailer, imo , is to sit, unused. If you can't use it, sell it, imo.
  14. Your best bet is to message one of their admins, via Facebook. They've had their own issues with spammers, and have blocked/deleted a bunch of folks, I think. I'll send you a list of their admins, via pm here. Also could try pming a member here, who is a top contributor there, but not an admin. I don't spend a lot of time on Facebook, and I am not on their admin team.
  15. Are you a Facebook member? Oliver trailer Owners is a private group. You have to request to join, and be approved.
  16. Hat's off to you. Pretty sure that would have taken the two of us longer. But still underlines the points. Our labor (however long it takes) is free, since we're retired. I think Oliver has always charged a fair rate, especially compared to our local service centers. It's all a matter of skills, and wallet.
  17. This is the first year Oliver sent a rep, right? You all have done this several years, now. So great to see the New England family growing! And, having fun!
  18. Looks like you had a great time. You folks really pulled together a great regional rally. 😀
  19. Ours has been just that.
  20. I was thinking about that today. I now remember that Truma drew up a different duct plan, etc., for the Oliver Legacy Elite II installations. I would guess that's what creates the prohibitive price. The furnace in my 2008 Elite is not ducted, so that's quite likely the difference.
  21. Sorry for the (fun) thread drift. That cabinet, in our trailer, usually holds just a box of kleenex. Great use of your space.
