  1. Water systems are tricky. At home, we work on a rainwater collection system, and an 8000 gallon cistern. We spent an entire day, checking everything. Valves, pump, connections, Power. Sediment filters, etc. Blowing out possible sediment, every way. Checking check valves. It can be very frustrating. We found, on ours , a faulty float switch, which has nothing to do with the Oliver system, but I share your frustration. Every connection is tightened, and retightened. I share your pain. We both now have working systems. Please share your Oliver challenge with service, via a ticket. They need to know.
  2. More importantly, did @Steph and Dud B find a resolution?
  3. Yes, if you have lithium batteries, I'd guess so. As steve/scubarx said, there's a significant weight difference. The new electric dc/danfoss fridge is much lighter than the threeway. We all have to work it out.
  4. So, @Trainman, did you get the jeep? Are you enjoying it, not as a tow vehicle? I see lots of them every day, in my county driving. I really like the light grey. Every vehicle we own (except the 58 tr3) can tow our Ollie. We just choose not to, with some. Enjoy the ride!
  5. We love the victron connect system on our sailboat. @mossemi
  6. If you have not yet, please open a service ticket. Even if you're out of warranty. Service sends the info to the factory. That install is skewed, imo.
  7. If all you want is cooking on cast iron (skillet, Dutch oven, smallish griddle), I'd stick with your brother's recommendation.we used to have a cast iron two burner. It was awesome. Left it with my cousin in Alaska, four or five years back. It was probably 40 years old then, and likely to do another 40, for someone else. There are a few dual fuel butane/lp single burner small, super light burners out there. I've used the small butane, catering. No experience with lp. I hope you find your perfect solution. My only lp single burner in my pack is a jet boil backpack copycat. It's great, van camping in Iceland, and outages here, but requires a special canister. Not suitable for your purposes. Super small spider, mostly for emergencies, or backpacking. I'm sorry for your losses in the last hurricane, @Boudicca908. Glad you and your trailer made it through. We're back in hurricane season, here in sw Florida. Hugs and prayers for making it through the next big one. Some folks in your area are still not home. It's totally devastating when there's a direct hit. 😢
  8. Thanks for the photos! Beautiful! Are you traveling on to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site? That's definitely on my bucket list.
  9. 100 w panels we have are relatively light and smaller and easier to handle. I can easily lift one with one hand. (Makes chasing the sun around a lot easier...)
  10. We still use a 16 year old, relatively inexpensive, infrared stainless grill, from a sporting goods store, on closeout. . We had to replace the non-stainless grates with aftermarket adjustable, but, whatever. It's a boxier shape, lightweight. We have a Magma charcoal grill on the boat (30? plus years), and a west marine gas copycat, probably 20 years old. . Both shiny stainless. Neither is heavy. (As in, I can easily lift any of the three, without effort.) We often take the copycat off and use it in the backyard. It's great for burgers or dteaks up to six people. Cleans up easily. Make sure whatever you buy can give you decent btus to give a good char. And, that you can lift and clean and store it easily. I love the concept of a Blackstone. Aussie barbie concept. My friend makes amazing food on hers, especially breakfast. I'd be most interested in their pizza oven 😋. But, I'm good for now. Too much stuff, anyway. I don't really need anything else, til some piece of gear dies. I can always just camp with a friend, with something different. 😆 All our grills look similar to this magma. Under $200.
  11. I think it's all in the prep. Our original belly bands, except the bath, are still on place. That one fell off a few years ago. Paul cleaned off the original tape, and we used new vhb . It "ok", but lifting at the far edges, a bit. That's a bunch of curve, on a short space, so somewhat understandable, even though we cleaned the heck out of the surface, and held the newly applied band in place with tape. I'd guess it's a problem with Oliver's prep (cleaning mold release etc), or, a bad batch of banding, with inferior vhb tape. Or, a combo of both.
  12. Hunker down, get a good night's rest with the rain drumming on the hull, and make a new list of questions. Delivery day can get overwhelming. Take your time to relax, and enjoy your shiny new surroundings. Congratulations!
  13. Our progressive auto insurance shot up 40 per cent this year. No accidents or tickets for decades. Needless to say, we are shopping.
  14. Might be the next "great thing," but we are ok as we are. I'll look forward to your future posts.
  15. I was wondering that, as well. Pre-wiring was undoubtedly super expensive,,with heavy gauge wires. It would be nice to know the hull # when the practice was abandoned.
  16. Well, that makes us the odd duck. Agm and lots of solar. (400+ watts bifacial fixed, 200 watts portable. My husband and I have discussed a lithium upgrade for a few years now. If we go that way when the current agms die, it will likely be a single battleborn. Maybe two. We'll see. Times have definitely changed, but so has technology. The heavy gauge wire and labor is a significant $$$ number, but I'm still a bit disappointed at no announcement. Our 2008 was not "pre-wired", but it's a heck of a lot easier to work with a 2008. No foam insulation, no cabinet liners.
  17. Congratulations! Your wait is almost over. Get a really good night's sleep, the night before, so that you are rested and aware. Delivery day is long. Test each and every system, in each mode, and hang close to Oliver for a few days. You'll probably have more questions after spending a night and a day in your shiny new Ollie.
  18. I didn't know Oliver stopped prewiring for solar in 2021. Thanks for the update.
  19. It's outlined in "terms of use" for campscan. I haven't signed up for the app yet, so I don't know if it's in the actual sign up or not.
  20. We had the first tankless water heater installed. Pete (wonderegg/bugeyedriver) had the first solar/pv system. (Both by Oliver, originally) . Many of us installed dc fridge, before Ollie adopted it. Composting toilet, ditto, user driven. I personally think Oliver has been very progressive in installing modern upgraded systems. Imo, sometimes too progressive, and "got ahead of their boots." Manufacturers have to weigh cost vs benefit, and warranty costs. And, to maintain rvia certification, must use materials and components that meet and have those certification credits. We, as 16 season owners, can do whatever the heck we please, and, we do....with careful study. You can, too, when you're out of warranty. I will say this. We, like many others here, weigh every major mod we do very carefully, and often consult with Oliver and/or oem supplier, like BlueSky, as in when we doubled up on solar panel wattage,, requiring upgrades. Like so many others here, we take everything very seriously, especially safety. It's our home, sometimes 5 months out of the year. We'll look forward to your reports, years from now, if you incorporate the centramatic rings. Certainly an interesting idea. I'm not just ready xmfor it.
  21. @rideandfly, I'm actually always grateful when folks honestly post the items they overlook, as we do. It's really helpful to newbies. No one is born with a complete camping "gene set." It's learn as you go. Reading manuals and watching the videos available now (like Oliver University) is great. (Even then, stuff can get overlooked, or lost in the shuffle.) You and I didn't have those as kids. Good news is, we're still alive to tell the tales. 🙂 ! when we share mistakes and overlooked items, we help others as much as when we share successes, imo.
  22. You could expand the universe of buyers, a bit, by posting there. I'm a member, though rarely interact there. Your mods, and ollie,,are well known here. It's a pristine, well cared for, well modded gem. Someone will get lucky.
  23. I've never seen that before. I would open a service ticket, imo
