We have the Garmin 890 and like it a lot after using it this past year. I like that you can program in the dimensions of the TV and the Ollie and it will not take you on roads that have low overpasses. It also has a lot of CG listed on its app and gives information about each CG. The 890 can be updated to the latest software versions.

Free Lagun Table Side Mount 15 Series Extrusions
dewdev replied to dewdev's topic in Ollie Modifications
hobo: I am not giving away the Lagun bracket plate, only the extrusions to make the side mount bracket. Sorry for the confusion in my original post. -
I thought E85 was not recommended for most vehicle gas engines. What is the story there?
-
Revised my post on 9/19/2022 due to apparent miss-understanding of my original post. I made a Lagun side mount bracket as described in a past OVERLAND post. The relocation allowed me to install an access hatch to the basement. When I order the metal from the 80/20 company, one of the boxes got lost for a short time and 80/20 sent me another set of the 15 Series Extrusions, so I now have a extra set of 15 Series Extrusions that I do not need. The picture shows these extra extrusions. One piece is 9" long and the other 2 pieces are 6" long. If anyone wants these extrusions they can have them for free but will have to pay for shipping. To make the side mount Lagun bracket, that person will still need to buy the angle irons and attachment bolts. (see list of materials below provided by OVERLAND in his original post) Anyone interested, please contact me. #3075 Extrusion, 24" [This item is what I am giving away.] #4303 Bracket, 4 pieces #4302 Bracket, 2 pieces #3320 Bolt Assembly, 14 pieces You'll also need some stainless ¼" or 5/16" bolts to fix the block to the hull. I think most can be 1" or 1.25" long but you'll need two 3" bolts for the two vertical ones that go through the bed extension. I used lock nuts and large fender washers to spread the load against the fiberglass. I also cut off all the bolt ends around the bed side with a dremel and cutoff disk and filed them smooth so not to damage the mattress or cushions.

We in Maine do have hot humid weather in the summer, but not like down south. Generally we will have hot spells in the mid 90's that lasts 2 to 4 weeks straight. I live along the coast so the humidity is very high during these times, making it feel like 100. I use a small ProBreeze dehumidifier (see picture - 1200 cubic feet (205 sq ft) Electric Mini Dehumidifier). I do have to empty the water container every 3 to 4 days, but that is better than having a large dehumidifier like some others are using and it is easy to store when traveling. For the past 2 summers this dehumidifier has worked fine for me, keeping the Oliver dry and no mold has formed.

Katjo: Is that a Clam tent over the picnic table? What size is the tent?

Brian and Brandelyne: I tried googling Duvall in the Smokies. It looks like Duvall in the Smokies is now called Buddy Bear in the Smokies RV Campground.

This mark-up is terrible!

Mike and Carol are correct. Since we do not all have new campers (and things change over the years and even in the same year), it is best to ask your questions to your sales person at Oliver.
-
Your Oliver Model and year is not showing up in your signature yet. 1. I would suggest that you look at the gas line from the propane tanks to the quick disconnect and verify there is no valve somewhere along the path of the gas line. 2. As previous mentioned, check your grill to make sure there is no regulator on the grill. Since the Oliver already has a gas regulator, if there is also one on your grill that would reduce the gas pressure so much that you would likely not see any gas flow at the grill.

Thanks again Andrew and Mossey: I tried the generator after turning off the inverter 15 amp breaker and turning off the dehumidifer. The AC and AC compressor started up immediately just like it was on AC shore power!! KenB: Thanks for the suggestion. I have the Truma instant water heater so no 110 switch for the electric heating element. Problem solved. This is a great forum for solving problems.

Thanks Andrew and Mossey: Yes I do have the MicroAir Easy Start. When trying the generator, I had nothing running except for a small dehumidifier. I will try the generator again and turn off the dehumidifier and look for the breaker for the Charger/inverter and turn that off. Thanks for the suggestions!

I have a Powermate PM2000i Inverter Generator which I bought very cheap, since it was not running. I had to unfreeze the cylinder as the previous owner had not used it for 3 years and let the fuel dry up. I also had to clean out the carb. After spending some hours working on the generator, I finally got it running and it runs fine and provides the proper power. This generator provides 2000 watts Surge and 1600 rated watts running power. My Oliver AC has the soft start installed. When powering up the Oliver using the generator, the AC will start and run but whenever the AC compressor tries to come online, the generator slows down. After a few seconds when the compressor does not come online, the generator will come back to full speed until the compressor tries to start again after around 5 minutes. Is the 2000/1600 watts to small to run the AC compressor? I see the Honda EU2200i and the Yamaha 2200i, the rated wattage is 2200/1800 watts (surge/running power) and people on the forum say they run their AC units with those generators. The Honda 2000i generator provides only 2000/1600 watts of power like mine. Can people get their AC' compressors running with their 2000i generators? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Best Replacement for Lifeline gpl-4ct agm battery
dewdev replied to roguebooks's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I have 4 AGM Trojan batteries. They are still going strong and do not need to be replaced. When they need to be replaced, I plan to replace them with AGM batteries, which I believe are manufactured in the US. -
I have seen on this forum where people are using a inverter generator (like a 1000 watt) to charge just their batteries.

SteveCR likely has the reason you have not be able to get any TV channels. Hull 812: If you are talking about the Control Panel for the WiFi Ranger, you are confusing the WiFi and the TV. They have nothing to do with each other. WiFi is for getting the internet. The TV has nothing to do with the internet. (unless you are using a Firestick or some other type devise to plan movies that picks up internet.)

It would be helpful if you included in your signature the year of your Oliver and Model so people here could help you solve problems. My Omni-directional antenna is in the attic (rear overhead compartment) and when you push the button on the plate the light will go on indicating that the transmitter is on. After doing that, run a scan on your TV so it will find channels that are available in your area. Once the scan is complete, you should be able to watch a TV channel. Good luck and let us know how you did.
-
As far as I know the WiFi Ranger is only for internet connections. I have the Omni-directional antenna and I can not get any TV reception unless I turn on the amplifier which is located in the attic. Once the amplifer is on, when I scan for TV channels I get a lot of channels when the Ollie is in my driveway. I have never tried it when camping as we are generally doing a lot of other things other than watching TV.

Tire pressure confusion - Legacy Elite 2 POLL
dewdev replied to John E Davies's topic in Towing an Oliver
John: If you scrowl up in this post, you will see what varies people are using for pressure in their Oliver tires. Also in this post, it looks like Oliver is recommending 55 psi, but it is not noted if that is for the Elite or the Elite II. -
We have a basket in the head for Pee TP. Cuts down on how much TP goes into the composting bin. We got used to doing this when vacationing in the BVI's where it is common place. Got reminded of the the idea from 2 other Oliver owner's when we viewed their Oliver prior to buying.

Casper 10” “Element” memory foam mattress (mod)
dewdev replied to Patriot's topic in Ollie Modifications
I purchased a 38 ILD KTT mattress and it is fine for sitting and great for sleeping and a little firmer than their standard. -
Casper 10” “Element” memory foam mattress (mod)
dewdev replied to Patriot's topic in Ollie Modifications
We looked into the Southern mattress as well as the KTT mattresses. I decided on the KTT mattresses and bought them straight from the factory in CT in the spring of 2021. I picked them up in CT (closer and less expensive then gonig to Oliver in TN). They do not have any springs in them. I had KTT make the foam a little firmer than what OTT buys. They are very very comfortable and we love them. -
Frank C. Great post - Thanks. For the wiring, did you just crimp each wire connector, or did you soder each wire connection? Have you seen any leaks around the edge seal?
