  1. If you are going up US101 in Oregon you must stop at the Tillamook cheese factory in Tillamook. They have a nice self guided walking tour of the factory and a big gift shop to load up on cheese and other dairy items. We’ll worth the stop! Entrance, the cow portrait leaves no doubt where you are! This is a pretty cheesy photo, buy why not?
  2. After Crater Lake NP we went to Carl Washburn State Park on the coast in Oregon. Nice little park, well maintained. Lots of shade. Active lighthouse.
  3. We came in at the state park, older narrow bridge but great views! We’ve had a nice relaxing stay.
  4. No ferry! There are a couple of bridges across to the island. It’s a different world here, for the last week the temperature has stayed between 52 and 62. Quite a difference from triple digits in south Texas!
  5. We’ve traveled from San Antonio up through NM, CO, UT, NV, CA, OR, and WA. We’re currently at Whidbey Island north of Seattle and we haven’t seen a single other Oliver in over a month! Where is everybody?!? Mike
  6. I assume the power for the breakaway brakes comes directly from the batteries. So, when I switch the batteries off the breakaway feature is disabled. I only switch off the batteries when in storage and I can’t move the trailer without the batteries switched on (raise and lower the front and rear jacks). In fact, the first thing I do when taking my trailer out of storage is to turn on the batteries, so I’m fairly confident that towing with no breakaway brakes is not an issue. Mike
  7. Exactly what I did when we went with lithiums.
  8. I agree 100%. I had the same part fail, not a clean break but it cracked resulting in a steady drip of water. I also replaced the cracked part with a brass fitting. It would have sheered off soon, just like yours did. Mike
  9. The red one is owned by a couple in San Antonio. They are forum members @jellybean.
  10. We have an appointment on Sept 19 at ALCAN for new axles. Looking forward to the upgrade.
  11. We really enjoyed Two Medicine campground!
  12. We’ve also had the wires come off of the water pump itself. There are two red wires, I don’t think it matters which spade they’re attached to, it just took me a few minutes to find them! Mike
  13. I believe they started production of the LE2 before the shutdown in 2008. @ScubaRx or @bugeyedriver will know for sure. Mike
  14. Bill, I hope you have lots of fish in your cooler. We’re on the Washington coast and we haven’t seen a single Oliver all month! Mike
  15. When we were at TRNP a “herd” of Bison (15 or 20) walked through our site, a couple brushed up against the trailer. We were peering out the windows!
  16. Looks like you may have run over something. The dent on the bearing cap and the wheel chip align.
  17. I’ve been plugging the power cord into the outside trailer outlet when on shore power and into a Jackery when not. I just coil the power cable so that it fits in the cut out in my case. The Ethernet cable for the mini router sits in there, too. The dish sits on top. The case was from Amazon, not expensive but got great reviews and has worked well. Cut outs for the mini, mount, power plug, mini router and cables.
  18. Ray, I’ve been reading posts over on the Airforums for many years, always entertaining and informative. I hope you keep your Oliver and tell us about your boondocking experiences! Mike
  19. We have great memories of Joshua Tree NP. It’s a special place.
  20. What a great trip! We were just at Crater Lake, amazing. We’re currently visiting some of the few parks we haven’t seen yet, Great Basin, Lassen Volcanic, Redwood, Crater Lake, Olympic, Mount Ranier and North Cascades.
  21. The TAB 400 is a nice trailer. The Oliver will be a different experience! Enjoy Wyoming, Grand Teton NP is one we plan on returning to since we enjoyed it so much the first time! Mike
  22. We had a great visit to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. We stayed at Mazama campground, which is pretty large (6 loops), mostly no hook ups except for a dozen or so electric sites in loop F. It’s about 6,000 feet elevation, temps this week were low 40s at night and mid 70s during the day. Not bad for August. It’s been 100 degrees back home in Texas this week! There’s a nice camp store and lodge close by with a nice gift shop and restaurant (we didn’t utilize). The lake itself is pretty awesome. It’s the deepest lake in the US, almost 2,000 feet. No inlet or outlet, fed only by rain and snow melt (44’/year). The movie at the visitor center was interesting and explained in detail how the crater was formed. We did a hike part way around the crater, which is at 7,000’. Our campsite is a short pull through on a one way road that put us on the wrong side for this type of site. Our door opens to the street and we have everything else on the other side. All of the pull throughs on this side of the street have the same issue. Not a big deal, just a bit tight maneuvering in to the site.
  23. Congratulations and welcome to the group. We’re here to help! Mike
  24. We usually stay at Durango Ranch RV Resort, it’s on highway 550 just south of town. We’ll be there the end of September on our way back from the PNW. We had friends who stayed at Alpen Rose RV park in Durango and were happy. There’s also a nice RV Park in Bayfield, a little bit of a drive but a nice park. We’ve stayed there a couple of times. It used to be named Bayfield RV park now it’s Outdoorsy Bayfield.
