I use the same thing. It gets me high enough that I can lift the 30 pounder up over the fiberglass.

We were just through Delores a couple of weeks ago. We’ll have to try Along the RIver next time we’re in the area! Looks nice. Mike

If I’m making reservations for a site or if I’m selecting a site while at a campground I always try to find one so the trailer is facing north (or generally north). I like the sun to come up in the morning on the door side and go down on the other side. Now that I’m deploying a Starlink, if I’m facing north it‘s easy to put the dish on the aluminum box on the tongue or on the picnic table that’s usually there outside the door. We saw all kinds of mounts on our trip to the PNW in August and September, some fancy and some simple and some who just throw it on the ground! Mike

There’s a wide range of “below freezing”. If it’s only down to the high 20s we still rely on our electric space heater (Vornado). I can turn it so that some of the heat is directed into the vent under the bed with the water pump, water tank, etc. We’ve never had anything freeze. I figure if the outer hull is in 27 degree weather and the inner hull is in 68 degree inside weather then between the hulls will be something in between. Below mid 20s we do use the furnace. That’s not been very often since we tend not to camp in very cold weather. Mike

We had one fall out after a few years. Oliver service replaced it during a service 5 or 6 years ago.

Good suggestion, one I’ll consider. Honestly right now, what I have has been working fine over 4 different trucks and after just getting home from a pretty long trip this week I need to focus on some home things. We’re gone most of October too!

Mine didn’t come with one and I’m sure I’m way out of warranty so I’ll just stick with the I’ve been operating!

Do the new TST TPMS’s come with a repeater? I bought mine about 9 years ago and there was no repeater and no recommendation to use one. I did upgrade the B&W monitor with the color one when the battery on the B&W unit started to fail a few years ago. Mike

I normally use the griddle insert on one side of my Weber Q for bacon and eggs and veggies.

Wow, glad you were able to resolve with no accident or damage! Thanks for the write up, it’s proof how well the Oliver tows. General thoughts: Use the onboard leveling jacks. We’ve been doing this for years, to include at Discount Tire on a few occasions and at campgrounds to remove wheels. The TST TPMS shows both pressure and temperature of each tire. I keep the monitor on the dash and do a visual check every 15 minutes or so. Whatever TPMS you use, use it and keep a regular watch on tire health. Mike

A good place to camp the night before you appointment is James M. Robb State Park in Fruita. It’s only about 10 miles from ALCAN making it easy to get to a 7:30 appointment. It’s also just a couple of miles from the entrance to the Colorado Monument, a must see and a great way to spend the day there.

We’ve already got the ALCAN springs, should have done the axles at the same time, but, better late than never! We’ll spend the night in Ridgway before heading to Durango to spend the weekend with son and family. A big breakfast is waiting for us in Grand Junction while our axles are swapped out! Mike

We’re making our way to Grand Junction for our axle replacement on Friday. Currently camping near Park City in Utah.

Our manual lock has been reliable, not fancy but it works!

A little further up US101 after Tillamook just across the border in Washington is Cape Disappointment State Park. It’s a big park and was full the days we were there. A lot of sites on the beach, ours was about 50 yards from the shore but we still heard the crashing waves all night. The weather was cool and gray, probably normal for the end of August.
