  1. I think the relative danger depends on how effective or necessary you think the Andersen is to begin with. Plenty of half ton drivers don't use the Andersen at all, but of course there's differing opinion as to how wise that is. Regardless, the stretched link will render the weight distributing properties of the hitch useless, but that's the limit of the danger.
  2. I suspect that the link comes from Andersen. At least they sell an extension chain on their website with a similar looking link.
  3. When I tested my fresh tank capacity, I was able to get just about 30 out of it. 31.5, actually, but I have a 2 gallon pressure tank. So there's a half gallon missing in there between the fresh and pressure tanks, and I'm ok with that. I can dump all of that into the grey tank, plus another half gallon before I get water standing in the shower. Though depending on how the trailer sits, I may have to 'burp' the grey tank at some point to get the air out, by rocking the trailer back and forth. (Still not sure what's going on there, but obviously the vent doesn't always vent.) Since I cut my black tank in two and pulled it out, its capacity is zero. Or infinite, depending on your perspective. You might try fiddling with the pickup tube in the fresh tank - it may not be all the way down. It probably goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: don't trust any number on the tank monitor. If you want to get a true idea of your tank capacity, you've either got to measure what you put in, or fill it up and then measure what you get out. Which sounds like what you did. Just as an FYI, here's a chart that I made for my tanks to give me a better idea of what's actually in the tanks vs what's on the display. It won't be of use to anyone else, since every sensor will be a bit different. Actually, I've found that it's not of any use to me either, since these numbers aren't reproducible. But at least it's good evidence of how much error the tank monitor can show at times.
  4. Speaking of fiber granite, now that Oliver has reduced the color options, what are the chances that any of us with discontinued colors could get a replacement for a damaged piece later down the road?
  5. The kitchen and bath countertops on mine were held in place with epoxy. Trust me, I know, since I cut through them. The other three use Velcro.
  6. I love Skating. As a kid, those brushed drums were every bit a sound of Christmas as any carol. Wrong season but that reminds me of this from Bowie and Bing. The only version of drummer boy worth listening to. Man, 1977. Bowie, Bing and Star Wars all in the same year. I was a spoiled kid. 🤣
  7. I like that. Added to my library. Thank you. I’ve slowly evolved into liking jazz, and like you, wouldn’t have called myself a jazz lover not long ago. But that does seem to be where I’m headed. Both times I saw Brubeck were in very small venues, once when we were maybe ten feet away. It’s amazing to me to watch masters that close, no matter what it is they do. I mean, I could sit for hours and watch a skillful brick layer do his thing. I couldn’t articulate what I get from it but it’s meaningful to me regardless. Here’s another jazz artist you might like - Bheki Mseleku, from South Africa.
  8. Time Out is that which the coolness of all else is compared. I got to see Brubek twice! One band I do think compares well is Radiohead. I'm sure this forum isn't filled with Radiohead fans, but it might surprise many that they are in fact a jazz band. As evidence, I present: And if you didn't catch the influence, here it is overlaid with Take Five -
  9. That looks like ¾" clearance at most. Seems...less than ideal. Originally, the little Ollies all had flipped axles. Or, unflipped, I guess, since they were first. Oliver flipped them for the Elite II and then at some point decided to flip them on the Elite 1's as well. But it looks to me like they did that without consideration of the clearance.
  10. How about another new music Friday? Nice new jazz single from Enzo Carniel and Filippo Vignato ° Here's a quiet, almost ambient piano piece from Max Cooper and Bruce Brubaker - a version of their version of a Philip Glass standard. ° Keeping with quiet piano pieces, this is a neat one. My wife met some new clients yesterday and they told her about their son, Daniel Ketchum, who is a musician. This single of his just came out and I really like it. ° Here's something a bit more lively - a new jazzy latin thing from Eye Onomato ° And even livelier with some new swing from Club des Belugas ° And finally, something for the younger owners - UNKLE does Motown
  11. If you didn't catch it from an earlier playlist I posted, I think some of you might enjoy Ocie Elliott, a singer/songwriter couple from Victoria, BC. They're another favorite of ours. And you can't help love that they record concerts from the back of their Honda.
  12. Given the quality of Oliver wiring at times, I think they'd be more worried about lawyers than competitors.
  13. I just saw that Helinox has introduced these comfy looking cold weather covers for their chairs, some with integrated blankets. https://helinox.com/collections/cozy-comfort Pretty neat.
  14. Or just install the centerpoint suspension like I did and be done with it. Takes all of an afternoon. I ended up with about an inch more travel plus the extra cushioning. Of course, you can adjust the height by changing the pressure. It's a good, practical solution.
  15. I was thinking Highway Tune, but any and all, really. lol
  16. Shhhh. We're trying to keep my wife from hearing that.
