Legacy Elite II with 3000w Inverter - Generator Setup
John Dorrer replied to EurekaJ's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Not sure why you are flipping the AC breaker. We have a 2022 LE2 with Lithonics lithium batteries, Xantrex 3000, and solar. We start the Honda 2200i, install the bonding plug, connect the 30 amp to the Oliver, plug into 30amp/110 dog bone and plug into the generator. Never had an issue. Maybe I'm not doing it correctly. When you refer to AC breaker, are you referring to the inverter breaker. If not, where is this breaker? Thanks for your onsite. -

I had 2 of those hitch ball covers, but the grease gets all over them and me. There is no way to get off and back without exposed grease

JD, I have a piece of plywood that is installed in the backseat on the driver's side. It is level, 50L National Luna. It is strapped down tightly to the seat and also cable locked. I have reflective sheet that I sit on top Plenty of room for our 78 lb lab on the passenger side Plugged into 12v while traveling and I can go 3-4 hours before plugging into shore power. At the campsite I insert a piece of swim noodle cut down the side and installed on the top of the window, and run an extension cord to the shore power post or Olli plug. Boondocking, at night we plug into a Goal Zero 400 Lithium Power pack. We plug in the Goal zero to recharge it. Been doing this for 7 years.

I bought 2 ball covers, but soon found the grease would still get on them. I ruined 2 pair of shorts. My fix is a sealable sandwich bag, which can get a few uses before I replace it. I seal the bag and the grease keeps the bag from coming off will out and about.

For all pets owners wanting to travel to Canada and back, there are new laws. You will need to visit the Canada and US Rules. You must have well documented vaccine updates signed by your Vet. Prior (24 hrs) to re-entry into the US you must upload a special document. The consequences of not following these new laws will find your pet must remain in Canada for up to 6 weeks. This has been evolving over the past 2+ years.

These are the lights we replaced the lights over the sink and stove. It has a on/off button in the center, blue night light and dimmable light. Box of 4 so I have 2 more if the others fail. We did have a problem with the one over the dinette. I removed the dome, and re-alligned the spring, and we have had no further issues. The key is just a light touch, not pushing on the dome.

First, the Dexter suspension comes with Dexter springs. The suspension comes with a warranty. Dexter isn't going to approve or warranty their suspension with Alcan Springs or anybody else's spring. Maybe Oliver goes to Dexter 5-leaf. The moment Oliver switched out the Dexter Springs with Alcan's, everyone's warranty goes bye-bye. Bet would be pointless🤣 -
The Hill country holds a special place in our hearts. It is one of our Texas home away from home places. My wife just found a picture from age 6-7 (late '50's) in Hunt for the Brewmaster Convention. Our fathers were in the brewery industry and met at Brewmaster School in Chicago in 1948. Inks Lake State Park closed, but it refered to Day use, but there site was confusing and didn't mention campground. There was no access from Hwy 29, US 281, or FM1431 due to serve flooding. The lake was closed to swimming and boating due to debris. Guadalupe SP had closed trails, and one campground loop was closed.

I'm unaware of any 2022's that have had broken springs. There may have been one that happened on washboard roads. If you stay off washboard roads, don't live near the coast, and don't drive on winter treated roads you should be OK We have our springs and shocks checked every 3,000 miles when getting our Zerks greased, and check them before each trip. It is a personal choice. I suppose it is peace of mind to upgrade. I don't think it is necessary on 2022 and newer trailers. I suggest you do what Patriot did and that was to have Alcan install heavy duty hardware, shackles and bolts, for extra security. If you keep an eye on your springs, either yourself or a truck service place to make sure the springs aren't flattening, you should be good. Another important thing is tire pressure We run ours under 55 lbs. (53-54 lbs.) -
All windows leaking except exit window when washing.

We use a vacuum and check the tracts daily. We also have compressed air (used for computer keyboards) that we are going to try. We have knotted rope weeps that are in each window weep. They draw the water out of the track. You have inner and out window weeps that need to be cleaned and completely open. -
Ribs are getting ready to go on the grill, with corn on the Cobb, large red pepper, and jalapenos.

Years ago, pre-Oliver, I had a pop-up camper in the bed of my F250 and was towing an off-road trailer through Pennsylvania on I-80. I was going 70 mph, light traffic and vehicle at a distance ahead of me in my lane and traffic passing on the left. The next thing the vehicle ahead of me was almost in my front bumper. The close rate was the snap of my fingers. An elderly women going 35 in a 70. I locked it up and some how managed to miss her by 6"+/-. Fortunately the car on my left saw this and hit the brakes to allow me to swerve. Same truck with my Oliver. I was lucky that day and know that today my F250 is safely towing my Oliver. Whether I could have stopped with the Oliver I will never know, but the truck would have given me a good chance.

Will do. I will send you a PM in advance.

I'm sorry, but you miss the big picture. It isn't about driving 90K+ miles without problems. It is about your tow vehicle requiring the use of a WD when towing over a certain weight and the Oliver is over that weight. It is about making a high speed stop to avoid stopped traffic or to avoid being cut off and taking evasive action. If you total your tow vehicle and Oliver there is a high probability that you insurance may decline your claim, when their investigation uncovers you weren't using the required WD. Worse yet, what if you kill someone or put them in a wheel chair and you insurance carrier declines to cover the claim. The other party will go after you in court. I hope that never happens to you. I'm sorry but this appears to be a bit risky, and others that have responded to you and others are pointing out their concerns. In the end you will do or continue to do what you want. I leave you with this question. "Is it worth the risk to loose everything".
-
All you have to do is call Oliver and they will send a list of the services they provide for "Annual Service". I'm sure you can also do a search or on Facebook and get it.

If you are still hanging around Telluride go to Butcher & Baker for breakfast. Great Mexican restaurant, but forget the name, Brown Dog for pizza.
