We used aerosol spray close to Ollie's dinette and set off the propane alarm last year. Our propane alarm works great, too! Were any aerosol sprays used previous to the alarm? Here's additional information about aerosol spray and propellants used: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerosol_spray

Looking for a threaded waste tee handle, METRIC 6mm....!
rideandfly replied to John E Davies's topic in Ollie Modifications
John, If you cut the round portion of the handle off where the 1/16" roll pin goes through, would that give enough room to place a metric nut on both sides of the handle securing the handle on the threaded cable end? Bill -
Matt, fine ideas! If this section is always seen on the forum home page, it would be beneficial to prospective Ollie owners and also helpful to existing owners seeing new places to camp. Have seen beautiful photos posted here already, but currently hard to go back to find them all! When Mike started "Where's Ollie", it's a fine idea. That thread is not always seen on the home page. When I see someones post, would be nice to go back a year or two from now and find the post, maybe the new section could have photos/descriptions by state or region? Just a thought. Thanks, Bill

We've used this Lasko Ceramic heater while camping for about 5 years with our previous camper and Ollie. Place it in front of the entry door at night so the bathroom door is not blocked. Prefer to use an electric heater whenever we have shore power so we don't use LP gas. Have used it down to upper 20s so far.

Agree, Will post shots in "Where's Ollie" and hope we get a section on the front page seen all the time. It would be a great place to let Ollies be seen in use at wonderful places we camp. Sometimes we meet other fine forum members camping, too. Mr. Trumpetguy:

Posted photos in the "Where's Ollie" thread, but it's not always seen on the home front page. We need a section always seen on the front page. While camping with our Ollies, it's so easy to see beautiful scenes. Most are not planned, that's why I keep a point & shoot camera in my pocket while camping. Here's an example, walking on the beach in SC one morning while camping: Here's another one on the Blue Ridge Parkway: Bill

Tried the video instructions without success, too. Another possibility could be cables slipped out of receptacles in back of Furrion unit, requiring the Furrion unit to be moved out far enough to reconnect cables. When playing DVDs with our Furrion AM/FM/DVD/CD player, 2015 E2, automatically has DVD movie sound in all four speakers with or without being connected to the Jensen TV. Use the TV remote source button to place the TV in HDMI mode to connect the Furrion unit to the TV. Bill

Kathy, Agree, would like to see an "America the Beautiful" forum section for photos and location descriptions while camping with our Ollies. Thanks for the idea, Bill

Thanks for the fine video! Winterized Ollie with RV AF last Sunday. Used an inexpensive, not previously used with tranny oil :) , Pennzoil transmission/differential style hand oil pump, when pumping AF into city water, fresh water, and black tank flush inlets. Adapted the outlet pump hose to a male threaded garden hose fitting for connecting to the Ollie.

Top of ball to ground is 22.5" no load on Tundra with empty pickup bed. Have not measured how much rear of Tundra lowers after connecting to Ollie. No modifications to Tundra's suspension and Ollie's Tongue weight @ 450lbs. Trailer weight 4950lbs with empty water tanks, using 1" lift ball mount, and not using WDH.

Advice on Installing Hayes Sway Master?
rideandfly replied to Spike's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
The 1" increase in ball mount length increased clearance for my Swaymaster installation. Probably already doing this, connect Tundra to the Ollie and turn left. Place the Swaymaster & cables where you plan to install the unit to give an idea of clearance before installation. Our Ollie weighs in at 4950lbs with tongue weight of 450lbs, ready to camp with empty water tanks. Our Tundra's operators manual requires a WDH when towing trailers over 5000lbs, not using a WDH. Use a Swaymaster, since a sway control device is required for trailers over 2,000lbs. -
Advice on Installing Hayes Sway Master?
rideandfly replied to Spike's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Spike, Tested a Drawtite #40330 forged ball mount today, I'm going to use this ball mount with the Tundra/Ollie/Swaymaster rig in the future: -
Overall had good results dealing with Oliver's service department. Like Bill said go up the ladder if you can't get desired results. We used to install 50 and 60 series Detroit Diesels in industrial applications years ago. Really liked it when Roger Penske owned Detroit Diesel. From the first call to DD, if the issue was not corrected in a certain amount of hours, it ended up on Penske's desk. No one at DD wanted that to happen, so they were motivated to take care of service issues.

Dave, Thanks for the tips! I need to replace all of our porch light fixtures, too. -
Advice on Installing Hayes Sway Master?
rideandfly replied to Spike's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Forgot to mention earlier, our Tundra operators manual requires a trailer sway control device with trailers above 2000lbs. Needed to replace the hitch ball (chrome in poor condition) so ordered a new ball yesterday with new 8.5" shank forged ball mount, overall length 14". The new ball mount will add 1" between the rear bumper & ball compared to existing ball mount. Will post photos with Ollie connected with trailer/TV straight and LH turns with new ball mount installed. Have not had SwayMaster clearance issues in LH turns with 7.5" shank forged ball mount so far, but interested to see how additional clearance works out in LH turns with SwayMaster installation. -
2015 Oliver Elite II 12 VDC “NEGATIVE” Connection Issue
rideandfly replied to Maverick's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Thanks for the thread, Just checked continuity between trailer frame and trailer 7 pin plug. Our trailer has continuity between the plug's ground pin and trailer frame. Also checked trailer batteries disconnected from TV at 12.75V and connected to TV with engine running at 13.26V. The original owner took our Ollie back to Oliver to have some warranty issues corrected before we purchased it, may have been corrected then. I replaced the PD 4045 converter section about a month ago due to trailer battery over charging while connected to shore power, but did not modify wiring. -
Bill, As you know, there's plenty of knowledgeable folks here to answer questions. I was interested in building a RANS experimental aircraft and showed an Aeronautical Engineer their website. Turned out they build recumbent bikes, too. He purchased a recumbent from them, but I did not buy the airplane kit. Welcome!

Advice on Installing Hayes Sway Master?
rideandfly replied to Spike's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Agree with Coy, sent Hayes photos of my installation and they said it would work fine. SwayMaster will not work with all tow vehicles, I called before installation and Hayes confirmed the SwayMaster would work with our Tundra. The SwayMaster uses GPS to sense speed and the sway feature activates at 45MPH. If GPS signal is lost, the Sway Master goes to default mode with the SwayMaster active at all speeds until GPS signal is reacquired. This is why I did not mount the SwayMaster under the LP tanks, like Coy said, did not want to block GPS reception. Leave the Ollie outside 24/7 until I build Ollie a garage. The SwayMaster is built to be out in the elements. -
Advice on Installing Hayes Sway Master?
rideandfly replied to Spike's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Jeff, wanted to share additional information with folks here that aren't familiar with the SwayMaster, hope you don't mind. Hayes intended the SwayMaster to be installed on the trailer tongue A frame normally made out of carbon steel. The position Jeff shows is consistent with Haye's intended installed angle. Hayes said my installation location was fine for the SwayMaster operation, too. With the mechanical talent here, hope ideas will be shared to help Jeff with his SwayMaster installation. Here's my SwayMaster installation without WDH, our Ollie weighs in at 4950lbs with empty water tanks. Used 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/4" aluminum angle and have additional detailed photos, too. Have not had any clearance issues with my installation so far and really like the SwayMaster unit for Sway control with our Tundra. It has activated a couple of times applying trailer brakes before I noticed sway, once coming down a mountain when I was going too fast through a curve and once during high cross winds. Jeff, Hope this helps! -
Kathy, We like camping at Fall Creek Falls SP, too!! Nice place to hike with beautiful water falls! We want to check out some of the Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds in TN, since we just received our America the Beautiful cards! :)

We were spending time in the Ollie with heavy rains while having a camper issue last year. Had internet connection, used time researching this forum finding answers in old forum threads. Will take care of camper projects if I have needed tools and parts when we have downtime. Also use extra time for route planning since we are route flexible on long trips. For us always plenty to do in addition to reading or playing cards. :)

Reed, We change plans and stay in place until the roads are clear. Always keep a close eye on forecast/road conditions for all elevations in areas to be traveled, too. Would be interested to learn about your choice of cables for the Ollie, when you decide. Thanks,

He would know, plenty of stuff for him to upgrade, too! :)
