  1. Met Jason at Oliver last week at 8:00AM EST or 7:00AM central time (their time). Believe Anita comes in at 8:00AM central time. Hope this helps.
  2. On the Elite II 2017 standard list: "Quad Shocks on dual Dexter leaf spring axles with “Nev-R-Adjust” 12″ electric brakes for exceptional control and braking" Our 5200 pound Dexter axles have 12" electric brakes on our 2015 Ollie. Also worked on a friend's single axle 2015 Ollie and it has a 5200 pound capacity Dexter axle. Here is how the brakes are called out on the Dexter build/spec sheet on our Ollie's axle: "Brk Axle, 12x2, Elec". Please call Anita or Jason tomorrow to have them to confirm. Hope this helps!
  3. Our Ollie's Bulldog hitch is rated at 7,000 pounds maximum capacity. Our Elite II weighs in at 4950 pounds with all water tanks empty ready to camp. That's the weight we normally tow our Ollie at. Hope this helps.
  4. Here's the Dexter ID sticker and serial number stamped into one of the axles on our 2015 Elite II. Dexter will email a spec/build sheet for a axle assembly by calling their service department. Dexter will tell you which bearings and seals to use for your assembly that can be crossed over to bearings & seals sold at places like E-Trailer and Amazon.
  5. John, Fine photos!!!! Appreciate information on taking the Ollie off pavement, too!
  6. Bill, Jason is great to work with on the service side of things. They did a nice job on everything I wanted done and also made improvements free of charge on items I was not aware of. Their service cost is very reasonable, too. Even though we purchased our Ollie used, we have been welcomed into the Oliver Family. We are less than 500 miles from "Mother Ship", is that your term? I normally like to do the majority of the maintenance on stuff we own, but since we are not too far from Oliver, made the decision to let them do more of the maintenance/upgrades I normally do after this last visit. Had a fine discussion with Heather and Anita in Sales, about features non Ollie owners are looking for in a travel trailer that would cause them to consider Oliver. Hats off to Oliver's willingness to make improvements and upgrades based on input from new and experienced camper owners. Couple additional photos taken of OliverTravel Trailers receiving finishing touches on Wednesday earlier this week: Our Ollie is Left and closer unit in this photo:
  7. Hats off to all the folks at Oliver, service was top quality! Good to see Jason, Heather, and Anita during the trip, too!!!!!! Randy, Thanks!!!! Just got home and ran through plenty of rain during the last three days. The rig is dirty, but the white on white is still looking good! Mike, Thanks!!! The snow was an added bonus for the photo. It was 32F when the photo was taken with snow on Tuesday. Woke up this Thursday morning at Fall Hollow TN and the inside temp in the Ollie was 69F, without heat. Experimented with and without cruise control during this trip in the TN & NC mountains. With cruise set at 61MPH for 200+ miles got 11.5MPG. Not using cruise for 200+ miles with target speed of 61MPH slowing to 55MPH going up hills and up to 65MPH down hills got 13.5MPG. Amazed at how easy the Ollie tows.
  8. Oliver did some work on our Ollie this week: East of Asheville NC heading to Hohenwald TN: First Oliver Built: Camping at Fall Hollow TN:
  9. Bill, Don't know if any Griz or Buffalo passed by at night, but Larry mentioned listening to sounds outside the camper at night in his article, so here's another one. One night we were camping next to a swamp in SC. Something was out side making odd snorting type of noises. Figured it was some type of wildlife, so did not go outside until morning. The next morning the family in the campsite beside us said a very large alligator had been in our campsite during the night. :)
  10. Larry, Very useful information about the heater and LP bottle weight. Know what you mean about camping and hearing noises outside at night. While camping in MT & WY, we always wake up when Elk and Coyotes come through the campground, looking out trying to see them on moonlit nights. Thanks,
  11. Welcome from North Carolina and Congratulations on your future Elite II !!!!!!
  12. Steve, Wow, beautiful work!!!!! Very creative and will get the job done!
  13. Scotty and Donna, Congrats on the new family member!!!!!!! Hull #75 was the only experimental Ollie built with the "Saturn" option. Bill, Yep, It generates a little extra heat accompanied with poor fuel economy :( , but the view is "Out of this World"! :) Happy New Year!!!!!
  14. Wishing Everyone a Safe and Happy New Year!!!!!! Blasting off to 2017!!!!!
  15. John, We camped in the Tellico Plains TN area a few times over the last couple years, SW of the Smokies. Hopefully these links will help with questions about the area. http://www.tellico-plains.com/places-stay.html http://www.cherohala.org/ http://travel.nationalgeographic.com/travel/road-trips/cherohala-skyway-road-trip/ The private campground we stay at has a nice gazebo for outdoor gatherings: https://www.cmtrails.com/ Photos from past camping trips to the area: I know you will not be riding, but it's a nice place for Street and Dual Sport Riding, too! Gathering at Tellico Plains last October. This was one of the groups heading out for a ride: Hope this helps,
  16. Agree, They took care of work on our Ollie when it was past warranty and we purchased our Ollie used. When I told the Oliver tech how much I appreciated the work done for no charge, he said "When you purchased an Oliver, you joined the Oliver family!"
  17. Dean, It was great to meet you and Laura at the 2016 Oliver Rally. Liked your Casita, too!
  18. Like the idea of a "quick start reference and safety guide". We purchased our Ollie used. The original owner probably covered as much as the factory would for us, but it was a lot of information to remember. Found myself going through the owners manual and equipment guides to find some of the information previously reviewed with the original owner. I'm slowly going through our owners manual and updating with photos and making notes, too. Going to keep a log book of maintenance and upgrades, too. Speaking of Oliver tractors, while camping in Illinois, a family camping next to us invited us to an antique tractor show and took a photo of a row of Olivers behind this Case:
  19. Canoe 12, We fish at a wildlife club in NC with a small private lake where a fishing license is not required. Sometimes we purchase an annual SC fishing license while camping in SC. Is there a national fresh water fishing license? Read about a petition for a Seniors National Fishing License. Would be nice to have so we could post photos of fish caught around the nation in front of our Ollie. Thanks,
  20. Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  21. Just returned from camping at Lake Wateree State Park SC. Took our Kayaks for the first time while camping with the Ollie. High temps 60s and 30s at night.
  22. Reed, Checked/tightened the hose clamps on the black and grey water lines under the dinette seat this morning. Saw a couple drops of red RV antifreeze under the grey water line and a clamp was loose. Guess this is a good reason for using red RV antifreeze in traps and pressure lines, making it easy to spot leaks. Thanks for the tip,
  23. John, We're big fans of ACE campgrounds. When visiting ACE lakes, visit their headquarters and ask for maps and CDs. Also use this recreation/ACE website: https://www.recreation.gov/campgroundDirectoryListByAgencyID.do?contractCode=NRSO&agencyID=70902 Here's a sample of free handouts, the website address on the CD has changed: Hope this helps!
  24. Reed, Here's some old file photos. Photo of what Bill describes, black water drain line on left and grey water drain on right: Here's the back flow valve top left, and black tank valve: Hope this helps!
