  1. Clair and Kathy, Welcome! Many nice and knowledgeable folks here. We just started camping in the TN plateau area this year and love it. Hopefully will meet you while camping soon!!!
  2. Debbie and I met John last week after he picked up the Ollie in TN when he purchased a Gen-Set from us. They were also having a family reunion in TN last weekend. Had the pleasure of meeting his Wife, but did not have the pleasure of seeing his new Ollie when we met. Assume he's on the road heading home right now. John, Safe travels!
  3. Our favorite local State Park where we enjoy hiking does not have a dump station. It has fine campground restrooms and showers. We use the restrooms and showers as much as possible, but use the Ollie's toilet at night to prevent middle of the night campground restroom trips and skunk encounters. Normally the 6 gallon tote is less than 1/2 full including water used to flush. I dump the tote in the restroom toilets daily keeping the tote weight low. It only takes 10 minutes to set up & 10 minutes to knock down the drain hose/tote setup daily. This is our preferred method to handle this issue.
  4. geO, Saw one 35 gallon tote with pneumatic tires. The guy replaced hard wheels with off the shelf small pneumatic wheels/tires, no noise while towing to the dump station and very durable, too.
  5. geO, This is the second try with totes for us so far with the Ollie. This set up would work with larger totes with wheels, too. Use this 6 gallon tote with an 8' flex hose connected to the Ollie. The previous owner of our Ollie cut thin wall PVC pipe in half to cradle the flex hose and also supplied us with the 8' flex hose. Use the PVC pipe at dump stations, too. Outhouse Humor : :)
  6. John, Our Ollie wheels are rated at 60 PSI. Been running 50PSI, but 60 PSI sounds like a better way to go. First thing I did when we got the Ollie home was try to find matching 18" Ion wheels for the TV, but could not. Hope to eventually match the Ollie's and TV's wheels when we replace tires on both.
  7. Mike, Thanks! Some State Parks in TN have golf courses, too. Did not take time to play a round, but managed to hit balls on the range and practice on their putting green.
  8. Here's recent photos taken at Fall Creek Falls SP TN. Like to hike to waterfalls, we had a fine time at this State Park: Out standing in it's field:
  9. Mike, Sounds like you camped at Bandits Roost Campground? We Kayak there and plan to take a motorcycle for two up twisty riding next trip. Agree, never know who you may be talking to while camping. Posted this photo here last year of a camping trip to Glacier NP MT with our previous aluminum CampLite camper a few years ago. One morning a nice fellow was looking at the camper and showed him the all aluminum structure. Took his photo with Debbie, Jungle Jack Hanna:
  10. Brandi, Welcome and Congratulations on your new Ollie! We purchased our Ollie used from a couple in MO and they recovered the dinette cushions and two pillows on the bed before our purchase of the Ollie. Sorry I don't have additional information for you:
  11. Chixter, Agree, believe that 1.1mm cord would outlast the shades! The 1.5MM cord I installed is working fine so far, but difficult to install on in longer shades. Looks like the original cord size was close to 1mm.
  12. Appreciate wheel maximum pressure information in this thread. We have Commercial TA tires on 5200 pound capacity axles, Hull #075. Could not find a load/pressure chart for BFG Commercial TA LT225/75R16 E tires yet, except for maximum load 2680 pounds each @ 80 PSI cold. Found a Michelin load/pressure chart for Michelin XPS Rib LT225/75R16 E. Maximum load 2680 pounds each @ 80 PSI cold. The following chart shows Michelin LT XPS Rib reduced pressure tire capacities. http://www.michelinrvtires.com/reference-materials/load-and-inflation-tables/#/
  13. Yvonne & Doug, Congratulations to Crew #223 on the beautiful Ollie!!!!! Agree, the folks at Oliver go above and beyond correcting problems to making the Ollie experience very positive. Like the water falls and Ollie shots, too. We enjoy camping in western NC & eastern TN, hopefully meet y'all sometime camping. Best Regards from Crew #75! Bill and Debbie,
  14. John, Took some photos while working on the Ollie today: Cord plug: 15A Cord Adapter used while connected at home:
  15. John, Purchased our Yamaha on-line. Believe it was around $1200 five years ago, but don't remember a rebate.
  16. The Ollie has great towing manners and braking manners. Believe the Drawtite unit would work fine. When we picked up our Ollie in MO, had to take a detour in the mountains on the way home to North Carolina. A vehicle pulled out in front of us forcing an emergency stop. The brake controller on the Nissan Frontier TV, was a basic Tekonsha unit and set the controller up with the Ollie before heading home from MO. Very impressed with the Ollie's brakes during an emergency stop. Congrats on your new Ollie, hope we can see many photos when y'all pick it up!!!!!
  17. Here's the Tekonsha Prodgey P3 Brake Controller link at E-Trailer. We have a Toyota factory controller in our 2016 Tundra, many people like the P3 controller. This link should have the plug and play cable included, too. The folks at E-Trailer are very helpful when you have questions about installing the brake controller. https://www.etrailer.com/multi-product.aspx?pc1=90195&pc2=3017-P&hhmake=Toyota&hhmodel=Tundra&hhyear=2015&vehicleid=201528688&hunter=bc Hope this helps!
  18. If your Tundra is 2015 or earlier here's a Tekonsha P3 installation on a Tundra Forum. Many Tundra owners like the P3 better than the factory installed controller on 2016 and later 5.7L Tundras. https://www.tundras.com/threads/brake-controller-installation.12131/#post-222777 Hope this helps!
  19. Reed, Thanks for the reply, sounds like your AC runs the same way ours does on Gen-Set Power. Assume after Easy Start installation, the fan would not stop when the compressor turns on. Would appreciate learning if your fan continues to operate when the compressor turns on after Easy Start installation. John (Raspy), My first concern was about AC reliability when using a Gen-Set, too. Since we're on the east coast, I had not given much thought to reduced power at higher elevations, you make valid points. We will be taking the Ollie out west to higher elevations. Thanks for sharing your approach to Gen-Set use while camping. Would appreciate learning how your inverter system works out. Believe Larry (Mountainborn) uses a Yamaha 3000W Gen-Set, enjoy learning from his high elevation camping experience, too. John Davies, This Yamaha takes only one pull to start, even when the fuel valve was turned off to run the fuel out of the carburetor during shut down. Let it sit for a year after letting it run out of fuel during shut down. Had a little surging when I cranked it up, so removed the old gas and filled it up with fresh gas. Still had surging. Removed two panels secured with four screws, removed air filter, and carburetor. Found a little fuel left in the carburetor during disassembly and a little build up in a jet, cleaned it out with compressed air. Reassembled the unit and it runs fine. It only took 1 1/2 hours to take it apart, clean the carb jet and reassemble, very easy unit to work on. If left without running for a long period of time in the future, would remove one side panel secured by two screws, drain the carb float bowl completely and reassemble, probably taking 15 minutes. Always liked Honda and Yamaha motorcycles, they build quality Gen-Sets, recommend the Yamaha EF2400iSHC, too. Thanks for the comments,
  20. Owned a Yamaha EF2400iSHC Brushless Inverter AC Generator for about 5 years, but hardly used it so far. Changed the oil on it the other day and wanted to see if it would operate the 13.5K Dometic AC unit on the Ollie. It ran the Coleman Polar Mach 13.5K AC on our previous camper just fine. Tested the Yamaha with the Ollie's Dometic AC and the AC compressor started and cooled the Ollie. Once the temperature is set on the wall mounted thermostat, when the interior temp gets warm enough the AC fan turns on first and the compressor turns on in about 20 seconds while using shore power. Using Yamaha power, the fan turned on first, the fan momentarily stopped while the compressor turned on, then the fan turned on and operated fine until the compressor cycled off, then the fan turned off in about 20 seconds. Assume it's borderline on having enough power to start the Ollie's AC compressor, unless a Micro-Air EasyStart 364 is used. I'm sure the electrical folks here can better comment on this. The EF2400iSHC weighs in at 75 pounds dry and over 80 pounds wet. It's larger and heavier than the current 2000W Yamaha and Honda generators available. 21. Sherry, Like your tip on using butyl tape. We use white electrical tape while on the road, but will find some butyl tape, too. OTD, Used Dicor self leveling sealant on a previous aluminum camper roof seam and it worked great. Asked the techs at OTT during our last visit about white sealant used on the Ollie exterior and they said they use 3m 4000. It comes in 3 OZ and 10 OZ. Have one place to re-seal on the Ollie roof and plan to use the 4000 white sealant.
  22. Bob, Congratulations on your new Ollie!!!!!!! Assumed that was y'all at Fall Hollow. Looking forward to seeing photos of your Ollie when you have some!
  23. We don't tow on rough terrain, but this is an interesting question John has asked. More questions, could a low pressure (.5 to 1 pound cracking pressure) adjustable relief valve be threaded into some type of plug placed in the vent outlet only when towing on rough terrain? Hopefully this would not create too much tank pressure?
