EGO 765 battery powered leaf blower for drying our rig.
Steph and Dud B replied to Patriot's topic in General Discussion
I have the EGO 2405 24" 2-stage snowblower with four 7.5Ah batteries (a pair to run and a pair on the charger). We have an odd-shaped gravel drive (lots of little notches and spurs) that I'd estimate at about 1700 square feet with a slight incline. I added ARMORskids to the EGO because of the gravel, so it leaves about a 1/2" of snow behind. First snowfall was 5" of heavy wet snow with temps right around freezing. I cleared the entire drive in about 1 hour on the first pair of batteries. The 10% charge light was flashing when I finished. I did not suck up any gravel or break any windows 😅. The only thing I didn't do was the plow pile at the end of the driveway. I'm sure the EGO could have done it, but a neighbor with a plow truck got that for me. The snow blower is quiet and there's no gas engine to dither with, which I like. It's pretty light, which is both a plus and minus. Makes it easy enough to maneuver around, but it did have trouble biting into hard pack snow because it wants to ride up on top of it. It throws snow really well. I kept the auger speed low to save battery and it still threw as far as I needed. You can run it one-handed (left) and use your right hand to adjust the chute on the fly. They make a fancier one with heated handles and power turning, which I'm envious of, but it was $350 more and I figured the heaters would eat more battery. So far, one storm in, I'm pleased with it. UPDATE: 2ND PASS: Another 2" of snow fell. This time I used a more efficient pattern and moved a little faster. Finished the whole drive in 30 minutes, using 3/5 of the battery power. Nice machine. -
I’ve heard tank sounds, as well, more of a ‘high-pitched whistling’ rather than ‘ringing’ That's the high/low pressure regular diaphragm. They can do that, especially in cold weather with high propane flow. Our last fifth wheel did it and the regulator was mounted right under the bedroom. 🤨
-
First, see if testing reveals a leak in the system. There is no "partially full" indication on the regulator. The indicator just tells you if an auto switchover has occurred. It should be either green or red, but not both. What position is the little arrow lever on the regulator in? It should be pointed at one of the tanks, not in the center. Our lever got accidentally knocked into the center position once, resulting in a "1/2 full" indication when one tank was actually full. For automatic operation with one tank full and the other partial, point the lever at the partial tank. When it empties, it should auto switch to the full tank. Switch the lever, fill the empty tank, and proceed normally.

I wasn't aware the 2023 models have them. Do they? Our 2022 doesn't.

Oh, yeah. Note we haven't posted any interior pics of our trailer. There's a reason for that! Yours looks great. -

I really like the new bathroom door. And, your dog is really cute! -
XANTREX FREEDOM XC PRO 3000 INVERTER/CHARGER

Put in a service ticket with Oliver and ask what position the on-unit switch should be in. Or email Xantrex. I've had good luck with their customer service. -
XANTREX FREEDOM XC PRO 3000 INVERTER/CHARGER
Steph and Dud B replied to HDRider's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I've never messed with the one on the inverter itself, so I can't answer that. Just run everything from the control panel and use the LEDs/display to verify you're in the mode you want. -
That's the one we have. Didn't buy it for the Oliver, we already had it from a previous trailer, but figured we'd use it since we had it. I check the LEDs on it before I plug the Oliver into it as a quick check on the power status.

XANTREX FREEDOM XC PRO 3000 INVERTER/CHARGER

Yes. Completely separate functions. Turning the inverter off has no effect on the converter (charger). -

Your statements are mostly correct, but let's be a little more specific. The Xantrex unit is really two devices: a converter and an inverter. The converter takes shore power (120v AC) and converts it into DC volts to charge your batteries. This happens automatically when you plug your trailer into shore power. However, the Xantrex has nothing to do with solar charging. There is a separate device for that. You didn't post the year of your trailer, but your hull number tells me it's new. Our trailer has a Zamp solar charge system, but I think the newer units use Victron(??). Either way, there should be another control panel somewhere inside your cabin for solar charging. That system should also be passive/automatic for you. It'll work when there's sun without any interaction from you. The inverter part of your Xantrex does convert 12v DC battery power to household 120v AC for your outlets, etc. but it requires interaction from you. Turn it on (silver button pressed in) when you want 120v outlet power from the batteries. Turn it off when you don't need it because the inverter draws power from the batteries even when you're not using the 120v outlets. The green LEDs and display on the control panel tell you what it's doing. (You can press the OK button to wake up the display at any time.) Hope this helps clear it up a bit for you.- 31 replies

Sorry to hear you all got sick. On the bright side, that was actually a pretty good shakedown trip. You were able to test for leaks in the rain, test the furnace, get a feel for the capacity of the batteries, and get a sense of the living space available when one person is sick. Hope you've all recovered a bit now. Yours was the first picture I've seen of the new bathroom door. Would love to see a full length shot of it if you get a chance. Also, we've been thinking of getting another dog after retirement and figured the dog bed would go where you put yours. How big is your dog (photos?) and how did it work out with his/her bed there? Thanks for the report. Enjoy your next trip. -

While you folks are enjoying your EGO wind blowers I'm getting ready to put our EGO snow blower to work for the first time. Think I'd rather be washing the Ollie... -
Truma Varioheat furnance not working with error code
Steph and Dud B replied to Mike and Jill's topic in General Discussion
Couldn't find that error code either. Did find a couple of British YouTubers showing how to reset the control panel to clear some errors. Not sure if the American version is the same. Here's one: https://youtu.be/Xzo9tTWB7T0?si=OH-eBlG8-nNGb4UY -
12v only vs 12/120 compressor fridge

We'll, that's pretty cool. We're always short of onions. 😁 -
Happy New Year, everyone!

Excellent advice! I saved some 2x6 cutoffs for firewood and some sheathing/roof cutoffs for shelves, etc. but a lot went to waste, and we paid for all of it.

For anyone interested, I posted more details about our experience building the garage on our blog, including some pricing and the vagaries of construction schedules.
-
I'm assuming this is a steel building? If they use roll up doors, there won't be anything over the trailer, but they'll need enough height for the rolled up doors at the ends. For our conventional garage doors we installed side mount door openers instead of hanging them over the bays. They're very nice.
-
That seems like a good size. However, if you build a pull-through, you lose any storage on the back wall. Something to consider if you want to store some camping gear in there, too. We just built a 30'x30' wood framed garage with two bay doors, each 10' wide by 12' high, and some storage/work area on the side. The trusses are 14' up. The 10' wide doors are fine for an Oliver. No trouble backing in. I use a traffic delineator post as a target for the rearview camera. You can see it in one of the photos. (We couldn't do a stripe on the floor because our dually's hips block my view of the trailer wheels.) We didn't install a 30A plug because we don't intend to run the trailer A/C in there, but we do have a 20A circuit for battery charging, etc.

I see what you did there...

Travel Trailer Insurance
Steph and Dud B replied to Dennis and Melissa's topic in General Discussion
We have a different insurer for the trailer (Progressive). -
The other thing that can make them act strange is low voltage. Are your batteries charged?
-
Never in 24 years of winterizing various trailers. That's a combination CO and propane detector. Make sure your propane tanks are off.

Possible first new Oliver affiliate dealership

No specs. The most expensive LE2 is $106k. Single awning, 30# tanks, standard toilet, no bike rack. I'm assuming one of the Lithium packages? The others are around $97k. I assume OTT will have a couple of standard option lists they offer at dealers?
