The closer you get to the Rally - the more you will see! Safe travels to all that are (or soon will be) on the road to the Rally. Please be careful out there. Bill

It would be helpful if you listed your hull #, model and year in your signature line. That way we would know a little better just exactly how to answer your questions. Bill

Outdoor Shower faucet is cracked

Aren't we all?đ There just has to be somewhere else to buy that replacement part! Many times the cost via the Oliver Service department isn't bad. Bill -
While there is a ton of water to be fished around this lake you will not see too many people with a fly rod in their hands. Certainly there are pan fish and you can also fish for large mouth bass (this is one of the best fisheries in the world for large mouth) and from personal experience I can tell you that both will take a fly. I'm sure that the State Park Marina can put you in touch with fishing guides. Good luck! Bill

I've not tried epoxy for this application but I don't see why it wouldn't work. There really isn't that much pressure on these clips - at least after you get the frame secured by them. Besides, a little extra epoxy in there just might help to keep the window from leaking.đ Bill

Do you remember the length of those bolts and the diameter? The holes in the basket I have are 1/2 inch and the u-bolts that Service sent to me are 3/8 inch. I think that I'd rather use bolts (in order to fill those holes in the basket better) but from the looks of John's install his u-blot appears to be a bit long. Also, did you use stainless or galvanized? Bill

Boy! These units were even pretty Way back then. Good design never goes out of style! Bill

John - Thks a bunch! Can you see the rubber that is between the basket and the fiberglass/frame? If yes then I'm guessing that the rubber under the bracket in the front of the basket is slightly thicker than the rubber that is between the basket and the fiberglass? Also, what is the direction of the rubber strips between the fiberglass and the basket - I assume that the strips run side to side at the front (just behind the front u-bolt) and at the rear (just in front of the rear u-bolt). Searching for info to reseal large windows

Other than Jason I do not believe that there will be any Service techs at the Rally. However, there certainly will be a number of highly qualified owners available for advice and/or assistance. The only "problem" I would see for this approach is that the correct materials needed for a proper repair just might not be readily available. Bill -
Does anyone have pictures of their front basket installed? It is obvious where the two U-bolts and steel plates go - but - it is not so obvious as to the exact location of the rubber pads. I suspect that the long rubber pad must be cut into at least two separate pieces in order to pad the existing fiberglass from the bottom of the basket. Also, I assume that the basket is located as far to the rear as possible. Thanks for the help! Bill

I received the parts box from the Oliver Service guys/gal about 7pm last night. Below are some pics of what was in the box. Note that the U-bolts and appropriate washers and nuts are nice stainless steel. Here are the measurements: two - stainless steel U-bolts with associated hardware measuring - 8"x3 3/4" x 3/8" two painted steel plates measuring - 6 1/8" x 2" x 1/8" one dense rubber pad measuring - 10" x 2" x 3/8" one dense rubber pad measuring - 43" x 2" x 1/4" Bill

Mike & Carol - Shame that the ceramic coating shine isn't holding up on your Ollie - it looks great! I'm sure that Jason and the Service team will get you back in business with the water. See you two soon - have a safe trip. Bill

Just a shame that this area is soooo crowded! đ Nicely done. Bill

I'm positive that the Service guys will do everything in their power to get that used cover to you. Nice job on the temp repair. Bill

THIS is a good time to remind everyone that is attending the Rally that a few years ago one of these sudden wind gusts came up and it destroyed 4 Oliver awnings. As I understand it, Oliver was gracious in dealing with this situation such that they provided new awnings at cost to those who lost their awnings. Even on sunny days - if you leave your Oliver for any reason, be sure to retract that awning. Bill
-
Obviously - YES!

Hopefully either today or tomorrow I'll have these very parts arriving from Oliver and should be able to get you either the numbers and/or sizes. I'll let you know when I get them. Bill

If you own a late model Ford F-150 and would like to have a set of the rear wheel well liners and will be at the Rally - let me know. This includes mounting hardware and instructions. The passenger side is brand new. The driver's side has been mounted and might require a slight adjustment in fitting. PM me no later than Monday 12 noon (May 13) if you want me to bring it to the Rally. Bill

Little known fact - those nice steps on the Ollie can be used to partially demolish a garage!đ Glad that the damage wasn't worse and that slightly thinner wallet will make sitting on it a bit easier too. Bill

Not much to do about those cracks - that I know of. However, when my exterior switch covers (for the 110 volt outlet and the rear jacks) started to yellow, I took them off, cleaned them up, rubbed them down with 70% alcohol and then used Krylon gloss white "rattle can" paint on them. That was 3 years ago and they still look new. Bill -

Once again the wizard behind the curtain does his magic! Thanks again for taking care of us. Bill -
This whole discussion reminds me of sitting across from Anita when I was "designing" my Oliver. I told her that I wanted a 12 volt port located right next to the 110 port on the curbside. Anita said, "what for" ? I replied that it would be useful for a number of things such as my air pump used for adjusting air pressure in the tires. Anita said, "why don't you simply slide back the window screen and use the 12 volt outlet in the kitchen"? Part of me had to agree that her approach made financial sense. But, I convinced her to place this request on the order and I'd guess that in now going into the 9th year I've actually used that 12 volt outlet maybe 6 times. But, ya simply gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes. Bill
