OK - A VERY quick Google of stickers looks like it would cost about $0.90 to $1.00 each for an order of 100 stickers plus (of course) mailing fees for the USPS, and envelopes for mailing. So, all in you are talking about $2.00 for each sticker. Would 100 of us be willing to fork out a couple of bucks to show that we have spent 100 nights boondocking in our Ollie? Bill

I understand that the word "hookups" can have more than one meaning. 😵💫

Yep - like walking distance. Bill

The "newer" Garmin GPS units come with so much more than the older units. This includes campgrounds to include boondocking spots, history data, sights to see, shopping, restaurants, height and weight limits specific to your rig, etc. I just saw a recent post on All About RV's (see here) where a "new rear view camera system" can combine several cameras and TPMS and dash cameras. Just might make those "schtinkin" cameras worth another try? Bill -
Basically - it is "we" who got what we asked for. The "packaging" of various options was primarily done for two reasons - we (the owners) were yelling (loudly) that we wanted better quality control and the packaging helped limit the number of different variations thereby simplifying the production process and, therefore, increasing quality. At the same time, Oliver developed a multi-tiered quality control approach where each "station" on the production line was required to note that they had completed the "tasks" of that station and these things had been inspected for quality control. Then, at a later date, when a quality issue was found, it could be traced back to the station where the issue occurred where either further training was taken or different processes were instituted. The second reason was that the vast majority of Ollies were being produced with these same options anyway. Bill

Why is it that this reminds me of the 2 years, one month and 29 days I spent in the Army? Absolutely no disrespect here in that it was one of the best things that I ever did! Bill

Just a quick update on this project: Only four owners have requested assistance in getting one of these numbered plaques. We know that two of these were not in the original box that Oliver received from the supplier. One of these was removed by the previous owner to keep as a memento of the years that they had the Oliver. And, the last one is still being investigated. We are also in the process of investigating at least two different avenues of having these plaques produced at prices that are somewhat below what has already been quoted. Further details as we progress. Bill

There is always fresh air coming into the Oliver due to the "scupper holes" in the bottom. Therefore, it all depends on how much fresh air do you want. One of the first things I always do when setting up my Ollie is to open the bath roof vent. Then, depending on temps, humidity, precip, etc., I open other windows/Max Air fan (or not). Bill

If none of the above works - check for leaks - any water connection (simply wipe your dry hand around each connection you can reach and look to see if there is any sign of water). This also applies to that filter that Patriot mentions in the first reply above. Finally - re-check that valve configuration just to make absolutely sure that it is correct and that the valves are fully in the correct positions. Good luck! Bill

Shock absorbing material on steps bracket coming out

I assume that you have filed a Service "ticket" regarding this issue? There have been a number of occasions in the past where these "rubber strips" have shifted from their original location. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of exactly what was done to correct each situation. And, to my knowledge, there has only been ONE Oliver that was ever actually removed from its original frame to be have that frame replaced. Therefore, Service should be asked how to proceed in getting this "rubber strip" back to where it belongs and what can be done to keep it there. Bill -
As you already know - yes, they are dimmable. I know that for certain since I've got a dimmer on mine and have had it for the past 9 years. I keep telling myself that one day I'm going to change the way I wired it - I used the main feed that controls ALL of the lights. That means - if I dim one light, they all dim. Usually this is OK but there are those times when I'd prefer to just dim the exterior or the interior or the ..... Bill

I assume that you already know - watch the wind out there. It can come off the reservoir without warning. Bill

Over the years there have been at least a couple of different patio light fixtures used on Olivers. Therefore, (as with most things) it would be helpful if you let us know what model and year of Oliver you have. An easy way to do this is to simply add this type of information to your "signature". Bill

OUCH!

Consider it done. I'll keep you advised as to how its going. Bill

P.S. I do not "DO" Facebook. Just to make sure that ALL older Oliver owners know about the plaques and what could be done to obtain one - could anyone that is on Facebook let these people know to contact me so that I have their hull # to add to the list. Thanks! Bill

Handsome might be more like it - but - certainly "chill" looking either way. Congrats on ALL the milestones and have a safe trip. Bill

Sounds to me like you have an "air leak" in that line from the boondocking post to the pump - i.e. you need to have what is basically a perfect seal in any connection between that boondocking port and the water pump. The first place I would check is right where you connect your hose into the boondocking port - this is where I have had "issues" in the past. Next check all hoses in and around the water pump to include that little water "filter" right at the pump - be positive that none of these are leaking and are tight. Finally, check any elbows or other connections in the run of pipes from the boondocking port to the pump. Good luck! Bill

Just to bring everyone who might be interested in this subject up to date, here is what has been (and is) going on: All Oliver Travel Trailers up to a certain date never had these "Hull #" plaques but when it was decided that all future Oliver would include them, the Company had plaques made for every one of the trailers that had ever been built. These plaques for the "older trailers were then given to the then current owners either via Service appointments or at Rallies over the next few years so that these owners could install them in their Ollies. Given that the "box" of older plaques has been in the possession of one Oliver employee (Matt Duncan) since they were made, it is unlikely (but not impossible) that any were "lost". However, it is likely that even though a specific plaque was given to an owner, that owner never actually installed the plaque inside the Oliver. It would appear that this is the situation for the two owners of older Ollies that we have checked for "missing" plaques. Again, if there are any current owners of older Oliver Trailers that do not have a plaque - please contact me to see if you plaque is still in that box. For anyone (to include the two that we have not found) that would still like one of these plaques, we are investigating what the possibility is of simply adding those numbers to the next "normal" order Oliver Manufacturing does. I understand that these are ordered in lots of 1,000! Therefore, depending on when the last order was placed it just might be some time before the next order is placed - we will (hopefully) find out soon one way or the other. And, depending on the answer to that question we should find out what the cost would be per plaque. Hope this helps. Bill

Well - As with the fridge vents Oliver really doesn't HAVE to cut out these spaces to include the space for the sign hole. In fact, when the new fridge was adopted Oliver simply didn't cut out that part of the outside hull and to help "cover" the now flat area they engineered a fold out table in that space. So, that begs the question as to why Oliver has decided to continue with the "third brake light" Oliver sign. All I can tell you is that there has only been one Oliver Travel Trailer that has come off the production line without that area lighting up as an "Oliver" sign*. That trailer is mine and when Mr. Oliver happen to see it on the production line he was not happy and ordered that every Oliver would have that sign that says it is an Oliver from then on. I'd suggest that this shows how strongly Mr. Oliver felt about using that space for advertising exactly what brand of trailer was going down the road. Bill *note: there are at least three Olivers other than my "Twist" that also do not say "Oliver" in that third brake light space. But, in each of the other cases the owner had the Oliver lettering replaced with another name. "Olivia" and "ILUVHER" are two of the others and I can't remember the third.

So far I've only heard from two owners (hull's 45 and 251) regarding these hull plaques for older Ollies. Time is running a bit short, but, if anyone else with an older Ollie that does not presently have one of these (nicely done) hull plaques and would like one - please let me know ASAP. Bill

There is a long storied history in this regard - much of which I don't know. But, as with virtually all other "engineered" things in the Oliver even this is not as "simple" as it may seem. Bill
