Rough Ride Tolerance? New Ranger?
topgun2 replied to Wandering Sagebrush's topic in Towing an Oliver
No comment on the tow vehicles but I used to own an Equal-I-Zer WTH. I think that you will find that the Andersen WDH is generally easier to work with and is less "dirty". Besides - it is the only WDH that is compatible with the Oliver. Bill -

Water Heater Anode Rod difficult to screw back in
topgun2 replied to Imelda's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Another "trick" that you can use is to put a dab of paint or one of those "smiley faces" on the front of the anode rod BEFORE you take it out of the heater. Then when you replace the rod you simply tighten it back up such that the "smiley face" or dab of paint is at the same orientation as it was before you took it out.🙂 -

No problem - remember that you will be near ScubaRx!😁 -
No need to feel sorry for letting your Family know how much you hurt. Unfortunately, given the average age of those of us that own Ollies, most of (if not all) us have had similar kinds of loss in our lives too. Yes, your brother's passing was sudden and unexpected but given your words it is very clear that he is not really gone. Yes, in a physical sense he is no longer with us, but, his spirit will remain with you for the rest of your days. Remember all those times you spent together and revel in the thought that you were among the relative few that got the wonderful chance to experience your brother's physical being in this world. I look forward to meeting you at the Rally and, perhaps, at Camp Oliver on the Friday before the Rally if you are still near there. Bill

You might want to re-think this in that the grease caps used by Dexter are not made of the heaviest material and are not the easiest to put back on the hub. These things are not expensive nor are they complicated. Where I've had to replace mine over the years I've gone to ones like THESE because they are made from heavier gauge material and given the "flat" top they can be installed much more easily compared to the "rounded top" variety. getting ready to camp after 2 yrs in storage
topgun2 replied to LindaShields's topic in Introduce Yourself
Unfortunately tires "age" not only from the outside where you can see things like tread separation and sidewall cracking, but, they also age from the inside. The inside is a bit more insidious in that you simply can't see it! Heat causes the cords and rubber to slowly give way and all tires are subject to heat over their lifetimes. I'm sure that there are reasons why the generally accepted guidelines of 5 to 7 years for the aging out of tires has become the norm. For the money involved, I'm not willing to take the chance on arguing about something that I can't see and I'm not an expert on. Bill -
Small pebbles can still make their way into the braking parts of BOTH drum and disk brakes. Usually with disk brakes all it takes to get the offending critter loose and out of the way is to back up a short distance. With the drum brakes this process can take a bit more time. Fortunately with either kind of brakes this does not happen often for most people. Bill

Like THIS After I purchased mine I have not had the need to use it even once - nice insurance though. Bill

My 2016 (Hull #117) that I picked up in mid-February of 2016 came original with Michelins. However, Mike's at hull # 135 came with BF Goodrich. Go figure. Bill p.s. about two months ago I replaced the Michelins with four new Coopers - if there is ANY doubt replace them! -
First - use what Frank C and Mike suggest. Then if that doesn't do it for ya go to: Second - try a motorcycle cable lube tool like THIS Bill

OK - but if you have to get a restraining order to keep me from following you around - it will be a problem!🥰
