  1. My 2016 (Hull #117) that I picked up in mid-February of 2016 came original with Michelins. However, Mike's at hull # 135 came with BF Goodrich. Go figure. Bill p.s. about two months ago I replaced the Michelins with four new Coopers - if there is ANY doubt replace them!
  2. First - use what Frank C and Mike suggest. Then if that doesn't do it for ya go to: Second - try a motorcycle cable lube tool like THIS Bill
  3. OK - but if you have to get a restraining order to keep me from following you around - it will be a problem!🥰
  4. This time will go by fairly quickly AND will drag by all at the same time. Use this time to learn all you can about your new baby. Between this Forum and the Oliver University there is more than enough to keep you entertained over the summer. Start planning all of those trips you've been wanting to take and things you've been wanting to see. Get everything else in your life ready so that you can not feel guilty about neglecting anything while you spend time pampering that shiny new Oliver and/or while you're relaxing at your favorite camping spot. Would love to do this - but - where might this camp be? Bill
  5. Which you're going to need if you don't keep good tires on the bike. Also, on the helmet front - "if you got a $10 head then get a $10 helmet".
  6. There's an old saying in the motorcycle world - "tires are cheap insurance".
  7. That video for the Elite II is now live! HERE
  8. THAT sounds like a good plan to me!😇
  9. Joe - congrates on the Oliver. I too have the 4 six volt Trojan T-105's and they were original equipment on my 2016 Elite II My watering system is similar to yours. Whenever my Ollie is in storage I keep it covered with a CalMark cover and simply hook up the batteries to a single 25 watt solar panel. Over the past 7 years this has maintained the batteries at full charge with no issues. However, as these batteries are now at or beyond their "normal" life, I'm keeping a very close eye on them because I know that the end is neigh. I suspect that your batteries may have already met that "neigh". Bill
  10. Mark - I've never felt the need for a sway bar for my F-150 and I have both the max payload and max tow packages on my FX4. Ford does require the Andersen weight distribution hitch (WDH) because the hitch weight will be over 500 pounds. For what its worth - all of the other 1/2 ton trucks also require a WDH. While the Andersen does have an incorporated anti-sway function I'm certain that you will never use it since Olivers do not sway. Bill p.s. as far as wiring series versus parallel - simply Google it and you will get a bunch of diagrams showing you the way this is done.
  11. Hopefully the CGI guys didn't use up all of their polish on 135 - I'll be getting Twist done in about 3.5 weeks by these guys back in Murfreesboro, TN. Can't wait 🙂
  12. Don't encourage him, Nan - I'm guessing that Steve is already engineering a treadmill for Reacher so that Tali will no longer have to suffer in the mid-day sun.🐕
  13. AND - thanks to your posting, the rest of us now know a bit more about these awnings. Bill
  14. When this happened to me a few years ago - I simply went looking for a tool that was just the correct size to use in spreading the clips (gently) a bit further apart. Don't overdo this - you will know when you get it right. Those shades should be tight and should be able to be set properly with a sharp "wack" with the heel of your hand. Bill
  15. As TexasGuy points out - there are many more factors involved in the purchase of a new tow vehicle than just its towing capacity. While I use only my 2023 F-150 to tow my Elite II I also use it as a daily driver AND it must actually fit in my garage. All of the vehicles you mention in you survey above are decent vehicles and equipped properly they can be fine tow vehicles for the right trailer. I suggest that you drive them, look at the features on each that are of the most interest to YOU and then make your choice. Good luck! Bill
  16. Yes - I was an early adopter of that window replacement - sure does beat the heck out of most of the other alternatives I was using prior to the simple install. I'm sure that you'll get that gas hose figured out before the really hot weather comes. Bill
  17. Golfnut - Certainly your advice is sound. However, note my post above and I'm reasonably sure that the grommets your Ollie takes are a different size versus the ones that JD's Ollie takes. Bill
  18. Galway Girl's advice on measuring is VERY sound - over the years Oliver has used different hardware for the door catches (I'm assuming that this is what JD wants these grommets for). Bill
  19. Certainly that looks the same and the part number is the same. I've had tow sets of these in my Oliver since day one - over 7 years ago - and thankfully have never needed either set. They look exactly the same today as they did then. Good insurance. Bill
  20. The last set (individual grommets) I purchased was found at Lowe's and the set before that was at Ace. Good luck! Bill
  21. Things a bit slow down there in sunny Florida?😇
  22. I like the door window, I like the view - but you're going to have to get a longer propane hose for that grill so that you can grill in the shade!🙂 Bill
  23. Welcome to the Family, Mark. Normally I'd strongly suggest that you seriously consider attending the upcoming Oliver Owner's Rally, but, I see that you are located in California. That's a bit of a distance to travel even though it does provide an opportunity to see a bunch of Olivers and talk to their owners. In years past, shortly after the Rally pictures and sometimes even brief shots of some of the presentations will show up here on the Forum. This many spur questions on your part and if it does then be sure to ask while these things are still fresh in the minds of those that were fortunate enough to be there in person. Bill
  24. Certainly just one of the many reason that I have to work harder to make anything near me look good.😁 Besides - someone has Bosker's cuteness to draw attention away from a lack of altitude.😇
  25. Don't forget to plug those "scupper holes"!🥰
