Thanks to you for the question -- I'm anticipating this possibility in March. I've lived south of the freeze line for decades, and lost my winter driving skills long ago. What remains are the memories of black ice, the realization that I was drifting on the road, how to stop (slowly); needing an ice-scraper to clean the windshield; putting the wiper blades up before nightfall snowfall or icing; carrying cat litter or sand in the back for extra grip. Beginning well after sunrise is a great tip; these are all good tips. Let the adventure begin!

I just downloaded ($9.99) and .... don't see any settings, but see references to AllStays Pro. But when you say "under settings" are you referring to the Filter function? I think that's it, and thank you. There are a lot of filter options, including water and propane, various types of settings, specific stores, etc. Thanks for any tips.

I read that (and a bunch of other CR articles) and it doesn't sound good. The article was focused on 2021 vehicles, if I remember correctly, and stated that there was a 'refresh' that should have taken care of the issue/s. However, there is also supposedly a lawsuit for older vehicles that focuses on a gross amount of oil-consumption, supposedly an issue that was either ignored or not resolved. My ordered vehicle is a diesel engine. There are also rumors about faulty parts (CHIPS!) that might be responsible for a large number of vehicles sitting idly in lots (due to faulty chip and now an assembled vehicle that isn't running).... but those are rumors, not to be taken as facts. I'll continue to try to stay positive. A friend's vehicle is arriving from GM on Thursday; her order was a week ahead of mine, so maybe, just maybe.

UPDATE on my Tow Vehicle: Nutshell version: In November, I placed money on a Chevy truck that was scheduled for assembly in December. It was built, with scheduled delivery on January 4th. No delivery yet. The dealership is frustrated but has no answers beyond what they can show me online: a vehicle with a VIN number, reportedly 'complete' and 'waiting for dispatch' somewhere near the Flint Assembly Plant. There's a "VINview" map program that supposedly shows you where the vehicle is; some days the map works, some days it doesn't but it's never showed the vehicle outside of the general area of Flint. Trains and trucks are both utilized for delivery here, from there. I'm in the waiting game. My biggest question now is what I will do if my truck isn't delivered before my Ollie is ready for pickup. I'm trying not to stress myself about this, but ideas are welcome!

Is it hard to remove the basket? My order is in, I'm not sure I could change it at this point (though they aren't scheduled to build until next month)...

I had a dealer contact me about a 2020 used Chevy 2500HD Silverado, roughly 50,000 miles selling for $79,000. That is a LOT more than my new 2022 same build that is 'in transit' and due 'any day now'. It is indeed crazy times.

As a relative newbie, I'm not sure how this works, but perhaps Oliver could upload videos on the Tech Bulletin section? It's certainly something everyone (including future owners with Truma) should be aware of and able to inspect.

As a current customer in the process of finalizing my options, I can attest that my excellent sales team (that included several people) made me aware that there are "dealer options" for additional things that I can purchase "on day of pickup" from them (them -- OTT) rather than having to decide right now. These seemed to include things like: Oliver cover Clam screen room the rug and chairs (Oliver brand might be on the chairs) So I believe that it's just wording -- and yes, indeed, might be related to tax structure.

If it's frozen (due to water and temperature) and IF that knob is made of plastic, I'd be cautious about whacking it. My experience with plastics and freezing temps is that they can become more brittle....

This is all so informative -- and I'm just beginning to learn about these systems. Now I'm going out to the 'mini-shed' to check on my old like-new generator: it's the Honda EU 2000i. It was inherited, it's at least pre-2013, and never used by me. I'm sure there may be issues, since never used by me! I'll investigate and determine if worth starting up; and I'll definitely determine if I can replace it with anything before I give it up. Supply chains!

I plan to be there, with reservations in the F loop -- all of the Oliver Rally loops were full. The park staff were laughing (in a good way). Does anyone know if there is a way to register for the Rally without using Eventbrite and Paypal?

King, what finish option did you use? The upgraded fabric and flooring reminds me of the midnight option -- but the 'standard' counters were left white, correct?

I toured an Elite in Titusville whose single owner has elected to use the dinette as her permanent bed, so that she can use the couch and table in back full-time. I asked her about this, as I was trying to decide between LE1 and LE2 -- and thinking about my past experience sleeping on a narrow inflated pad made me realize that I would NOT want to try to sleep on that narrow surface full-time if it was elevated. I roll frequently -- side, back, side -- a narrow surface is okay" on the ground, because there's not too much fear in falling off. But the few times I've been elevated on a narrow surface, I am constantly wide awake when I need to adjust. No bueno. Sorry I don't know the Titusville owner's Hull # -- or if she is on the forum -- but maybe someone else here knows. She might provide good feedback for you -- her name is Dr. Marsha Ely.

Merry Christmas everyone! It's a beautiful, warm and sunny day here in the swamp. And the morning air had enough chill to warrant a sweater.

Studying hard and still totally undecided.... I visited a local dealer today (barely made it in the door and they wanted me out because 'closing early' YAY! HOLIDAY!) but I had enough time to touch and open/close the two models on the floor and to see many samples of tonneau covers as well as LOTS of other fun stuff (Decked, BedRug, etc). Then I had a text come through from my fellow birding friend in Minnesota with his current TV and cap (loaded to the gills with lumber sticking out the back) and he talked to me about how he can't see at all with his rear-view mirror because 3 layers of glass and more concerning the layers of dirt on that glass stuck up against the back of the truck cab. This makes me want to reconsider the need for a high-cab and reconsider the tonneau. Especially as a person new to towing and one who was raised to always be checking the rear and side-view mirrors; it's all going to be an adjustment, but maybe I'd be more comfortable with the high visibility. And less $ and weight. Still thinking.... this has been great to see all the different solutions and hear individual experiences.
