  1. You just articulated my fears. I don’t know if this will be the case, but it very well may be.
  2. One of the largest Airstream dealers in the nation appears to now be owned by Lithia Motors, one of the largest automobile dealer networks. I don’t consider that good for the Airstream brand, and would hate to see something similar happen to Oliver.
  3. Jason, thank you. My fear is that RV businesses outside Oliver’s complete control might damage the the reputation and brand that you folks have worked so diligently to build. I hope I’m wrong.
  4. I’m going to continue being an Eeoyre regarding an Oliver partnership with various RV sales and service businesses. With a few exceptions, I have a very negative view of these shops, in particular, the very large, high volume, multiple brands shops. More bluntly, I despise them. I’m sticking with my suggestion that Oliver owned regional sales and service centers, coupled with focused national advertising will both grow the business and preserve the culture that Oliver has worked so hard to develop.
  5. The iPad was held upside down here, but it displays correctly in iPhoto, but not here. After editing, it displays correctly here and in iPhoto. Looks like that works… it’s an irritating way to fix the EXIF info from the camera, but it beats a stiff neck.
  6. I noticed a posting with many of the photos out of proper orientation. On another forum (Wander the West) where I am part of the site team, I discovered that by editing phone and tablet photos, and changing the orientation, saving and then re-editing to restore proper/desired orientation, it cured the upside down issues. No idea if that will solve the issue here, but it’s worth a try. I”ll take a few wonky shots to find out…
  7. We looked at Bigfoot several years ago. The interior height was a no go for us. I am 6’ 2” and had to duck under the air conditioner. Other than that they seemed fine.
  8. The Airstream sold today. We had a lot of fun with our Desert Tortoise, but it was sad to see it go.
  9. In Oregon, veterans with a service connected disability are eligible for free entrance and camping at State Parks, additionally we can have one vehicle license that is permanent. The one time fee for the license is $100. Ours is on our Ollie, as RVs are more expensive to title and register. Semper Fi
  10. Thinking more about this, I’d like to see OTT set up their own regional centers for both sales and service. While I ended up buying used from an acquaintance, I was still left with a very positive impression of the Oliver organization. IMO… They should replicate that culture and experience to accomplish their planned growth.
  11. Lordy Gawd, don’t let it be anything connected with Lithia Motors. As you might infer, I’m not a fan.
  12. Continuity is checked by switching your Multimeter (digital is my preferred meter) to the Ohm/Resistance function. Clip one lead to the wire you’re testing, touch the other lead to a known ground like a bus bar or frame ground. You should see almost no resistance if the wire and connection is good. If you see very high resistance or an open indication, you have either a connector that is off or corrosion in the connection. HTH
  13. Lordy God! I’m having a hard time seeing detail in the zoomed in photo, but the top screw appears to be an apex head, and I hate them with a passion. It’s like a Phillips, but the center point is offset. The bottom might be a square drive, but again there isn’t enough detail when I zoom in.
  14. We bought a used 2018 that was well cared for and well used. To my eye, it looks new. I have no regrets.
  15. Sure, you need an adapter to go from the regular household outlet and cord to the 30 amp RV connector. you can get these from Amazon or local RV retailers. I taped a ziplock over the cord/adapter connection to protect from rain when used outside.
  16. Our youngest daughter is touring the NE States, and sent a text to say she saw Hull #641 in New Hampshire.
  17. Ouch! 😳 That is expensive! Lessons I’ve learned from our recent purchase of new home and shop are keep the doors as wide and tall as you can. The truck camper clears the 12’ tall door with about an inch to spare, and the old trailer had about 6” clearance on each side. Both had my pucker factor at high alert due to uneven terrain. It’s so much easier with the Ollie!
  18. Nice trip report! We have friends that just came out of that area a few weeks ago, it’s beautiful! I’m not sure what compressor you’re using, but I’ve found the Viair 400P to do a great/quick job filling large tires.
  19. Looking for wax, I found this… Cheap at twice the price…😳
  20. JD, that’s a deal compared to the Portland area. In the little town of Aurora, we were paying $380/mo for two covered back in open spaces. I’m so thankful we now have our own storage barn.
  21. Paraphrasing Groucho (with considerable license), any neighborhood who would allow a resident like me, I wouldn’t want to live in anyway. At this stage in life, any town with a stoplight is far too big. Here’s another soap/wax that does a reasonable job. Far easier than Collinite.
  22. Our previous home had a 12’ wide driveway that had an immediate 90° turn, with a hog wire fence. Trying to back in our first Airstream, the driver side rock guard caught and ripped the skin, plus the ruined rock guard. Hence the desire to have a trailer mover.
  23. A Parkit 360… the secret of success. There’s been many a time I wished I had invested in a trailer mover.
  24. I’m pretty sure it was from the mothership, but I will throw a meter on it.I have the Zamp portable with both Anderson and SAE. The PO said he never used it.
