  1. I did something similar with my F350, but I’m keeping the 20” wheels to put back on the old girl when it comes time to sell Big Ruby Red. I’m also a big fan of Cooper AT3 Discoverer tires. Here’s a link to an older tire Expedition Portal tire review that you might find interesting.
  2. It took a bit of chasing, but I did find the inline T harness to 4 pin that @Mountainman198 mentioned. This appears to be a much better solution when compared to poking a hole through the protective cover of the factory connector.
  3. Not much to see here, but as promised, here are a couple of photos. The first is obvious, the second is the storage box quick disconnect at the back of our Ollie.
  4. John, since OTT is doing the work, I don’t think you’ll have any problems at all. They’re going to do a professional job. I’ll try and get photos of my installation tomorrow.
  5. @Mountainman198, that is great! I need to do some research to find one for my F350. Edit: I just spoke to eTrailer, and it looks like this may be a simple option. https://www.etrailer.com/partlist.aspx?pc=HM40920
  6. John, I have a similar (Aluma) trailer that like yours is truly noisy. The majority of the noise on the Aluma is coming from the folding ramp.
  7. John, rather than splice into trailer wiring, the previous owner of our trailer ran a second circuit from the tow vehicle to the back of the Oliver. It’s for the storage box on the back, and there is a quick disconnect for the box. Wiring is under the hull. There is a down side to this approach, both he and I had to cut an opening into the door of the TV 4 pin to connect the new flat four circuit. I’m probably going to build a new jumper that comes off the TV 7 pin, and splits to a 7 and 4 so I can better weather protect the TV connection. If you would like, I can take photos for you.
  8. Thanks to all! I wonder if they are up to a NE Oregon road trip…🤔
  9. Bill, John: Can you share a little more about CGI? I might be interested.
  10. I don’t know the answer, but do know that I don’t like the cables on our Ollie. The stiffness makes them awkward to attach. I may replace them with chain.
  11. I can’t imagine being there with 30,000 of my new best friends. Humor aside, I hope everyone will be ok Burning Man dubbed ‘Trench Foot 2023’ as rain drenches event, attendees stuck in mud told to ‘conserve food, water, and fuel’
  12. Jimmy Buffet Dead at 76
  13. Airforums has quite a number of discussions about this. The consensus is that the push driven by us boomers to have our grandparent’s cool travel trailer has lowered the quality. That said, an Airstream is far better than the typical box on wheels.
  14. You just articulated my fears. I don’t know if this will be the case, but it very well may be.
  15. One of the largest Airstream dealers in the nation appears to now be owned by Lithia Motors, one of the largest automobile dealer networks. I don’t consider that good for the Airstream brand, and would hate to see something similar happen to Oliver.
  16. Jason, thank you. My fear is that RV businesses outside Oliver’s complete control might damage the the reputation and brand that you folks have worked so diligently to build. I hope I’m wrong.
  17. I’m going to continue being an Eeoyre regarding an Oliver partnership with various RV sales and service businesses. With a few exceptions, I have a very negative view of these shops, in particular, the very large, high volume, multiple brands shops. More bluntly, I despise them. I’m sticking with my suggestion that Oliver owned regional sales and service centers, coupled with focused national advertising will both grow the business and preserve the culture that Oliver has worked so hard to develop.
  18. The iPad was held upside down here, but it displays correctly in iPhoto, but not here. After editing, it displays correctly here and in iPhoto. Looks like that works… it’s an irritating way to fix the EXIF info from the camera, but it beats a stiff neck.
  19. I noticed a posting with many of the photos out of proper orientation. On another forum (Wander the West) where I am part of the site team, I discovered that by editing phone and tablet photos, and changing the orientation, saving and then re-editing to restore proper/desired orientation, it cured the upside down issues. No idea if that will solve the issue here, but it’s worth a try. I”ll take a few wonky shots to find out…
  20. We looked at Bigfoot several years ago. The interior height was a no go for us. I am 6’ 2” and had to duck under the air conditioner. Other than that they seemed fine.
  21. The Airstream sold today. We had a lot of fun with our Desert Tortoise, but it was sad to see it go.
  22. In Oregon, veterans with a service connected disability are eligible for free entrance and camping at State Parks, additionally we can have one vehicle license that is permanent. The one time fee for the license is $100. Ours is on our Ollie, as RVs are more expensive to title and register. Semper Fi
  23. Thinking more about this, I’d like to see OTT set up their own regional centers for both sales and service. While I ended up buying used from an acquaintance, I was still left with a very positive impression of the Oliver organization. IMO… They should replicate that culture and experience to accomplish their planned growth.
  24. Lordy Gawd, don’t let it be anything connected with Lithia Motors. As you might infer, I’m not a fan.
  25. Continuity is checked by switching your Multimeter (digital is my preferred meter) to the Ohm/Resistance function. Clip one lead to the wire you’re testing, touch the other lead to a known ground like a bus bar or frame ground. You should see almost no resistance if the wire and connection is good. If you see very high resistance or an open indication, you have either a connector that is off or corrosion in the connection. HTH
